I'm using version 1.2.0 and I'm not getting any output both from plugdata by itself or in my daw. I've checked my audio output settings and they're correct. Any suggestions? Thank you for making this! edit: i can get audio output with version 1.1.0, but still nothing from 1.2.0
Hey, try this: Main Menu (top left corner) Settings Audio Beside "Audio Output" you should see the "test" button. Press it. You should hear a sine tone meaning that pd is working properly. If not, check the routing directly on your daw, maybe your track is not set correctly to receive audio.
@@SoundCodex double checked both. I hear the sine tone from the audio test and made sure my daw was routed properly. In both cases I was able to get audio from 1.1.0 but nothing from 1.2.0. I've tried twisting all knobs and sliders I could see, but is there something within the plugin itself I could be missing?
@@ethan.gilmore Mmh version 1.2 has a volume slider (light blue) on the right side. Did you turn it up?

Nice Video, Thanks for the upload. Quick suggestion to all is to run the sidechain channel through a multi band EQ before The Masker so you can more easily control how heavily it's being cut or boosted.

Very nice... As an end-user here, if I had Plugdata in my DAW (Ardour), does Daedalus (and your and others' Plugdata and Puredata synths running in Plugdata in a DAW) run with those kinds of GUI's if they are available for the synths/effects or are they loaded as those Reaktor-edit-styled and confusing wired modules? Where do the GUI's come from? My questions are about non-coders and/or end-users using Plugdata's synths/effects created by others as wrapped in GUI's like that, to better encourage end-user usage and adoption.
Hey, thanks for your comment. Generally speaking, all my plugdata projects run on any DAW with a user-friendly GUI and no wire mess! MuleKick, Cyberdrum, Photosynthesis, and Wasteland will automatically load in plugin mode so you can use them like any virtual instrument or plugin (no patching required). Daedalus, TapeDelay, Fracture, Samurai-Slicer, and Molecular need to be connected to the output object (it's actually super simple: double-click on the plugdata canvas, an empty box will pop up, type "output~" and connect the synth/plugin out pins to the output object). Right now, I'm working on Daedalus 2.0 which will have the following features: easier DAW integration, clock/tempo sync, parameter automation, extra waveforms, optimized interface and algorithm! Neither this plugin nor the photosynthesis plugin are producing any noise for me even when i turn up the volume knobs, any idea on how to fix?
Hmm, seems like the audio signal isn't being sent to the track correctly... What daw are you using? How did you set up your track? In Reaper, you need to set the input to 'Record Stereo Output' but I don't know how this is done on other daws.

I just downloaded Photosynthesis v1.2 last night and have been waving a lot of fun with it, but it seems like the setting aren't being saved when I close and reopen the project, and some parameters refuse to be automated. I haven't had this issue in other Plugdata patches, so it seems like it's a bug in Photosynthesis. (...or maybe I'm doing something wrong?) I'm using the latest version of Plugdata and the latest version of Reaper.

@@SoundCodex I checked the behavior again, and I figured out that it is only possible to automate one of the parameters (replica) by clicking on it and using "show track envelope" or "parameter modulation/MIDI link". I also noticed that if you tweak some settings in the plugin, then click the "UI" button in Reaper's plugin window (to disable the plugin GUI and show all the "raw" parameters of the plugin), only the replica parameter is reflected accurately, and the rest of the parameters look like they are set to zero. However, it is possible to automate all the parameters if you first disable the plugin GUI and then automate the parameters with the GUI disabled. At this point, if you re-enable the GUI, all the parameters appear to move and follow the automation as expected. I hope that helps! :)

Stereo link makes it so any cut or boost is applied more equally to both channels regardless of whether the masking happens only on the L or R channel.

If I understand correctly, you could use trigger boxes to activate the ambient volumes when the player passes through any of the entrances.

Hey thanks! v1.1 has improved arpeggio mode and scale selector (all scales start from C). With the next update I'm planning to add transposition so you can play on every key :)
When it is put in software, suddenly a lot of noise is created and meter shows full of peak and Turns off automatically after some time🤔
Unfortunately this is a known issue 😒 What is your DAW? What's the sample rate for your project?
@@SoundCodex FL Studio , Sample rate 44100. When I apply it on any sound, a lot of spikes start coming along with that sound, just like triggering impulses in the covolver of FL Studio.
But can you transpose a pattern while it's playing using MIDI in?
I downloaded the masker but it doesn't appear on my plugin list even after successfully installing and extracting the plugin. What might be the problem?
