Would like to ask a question...
Is soy bean based products kinda bad on people with PCOS due to how it can cause high estrogen levels in the body??
This question came up from my dear friend when I told her, I am trying to eat healthy by substituting meat with tokwa or tofu...
Major respect for the FEATR channel for working with a registered dietitian and not a random self proclaimed nutrition influencer
Except she cooked no veggies and uses soy and dairy in her recipes. Both will flood the body with more estrogen and PCOS is a direct result of already having too much estrogen. But yeah…great “advice” from this “nutritionalist” 😂
@@thefarmgirl30 this is actually not true most people with pcos have varying levels of estrogen with majority of us having normal estrogen levels though it may not seem like it lol
@@thefarmgirl30most people with PCOS have normal levels of estrogen. Most actually have high testosterone
@@thefarmgirl30 I was thinking the same! Embracing a diet free from tofu, soy, and starchy foods is crucial for managing PCOS, as these can exacerbate the condition. It's imperative to steer clear of processed foods and instead, whole foods should be the staple in managing this condition effectively. I, too, have battled with PCOS, and found solace in adhering to a regimen of Intermittent Fasting (IF), a ketogenic diet, and a diet devoid of starchy foods, gluten, and dairy. Within a mere six months, not only did I reverse my symptoms, but I also shed 22 kilograms in the process! The journey didn’t end there; I was overjoyed to discover that I was able to conceive just nine months later. Interestingly, it wasn't pills that aided me in overcoming PCOS, but this dedicated dietary shift coupled with regular exercise, particularly fasted training, that championed my cause.
@@thefarmgirl30not true. The estrogen levels of most people with PCOS are totally fine. It's testosterone that it often too high. Which is why one of the diagnostik criteria can be male hairgrowth and irregular, often long, cycles
As a nutrition student and a fan of featr, YOU DONT KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM WITH THIS SERIES 😭 Let’s all combat nutrition misinformation!
YESSS!
Thanks!
As someone recently diagnosed with PCOS, this video made me cry!! Thank you for your warmth, gentleness, humour, and of course very helpful information!! It was scary getting diagnosed cause a lot of info I read was about not being allowed to eat your favourite foods, and was afraid I was going to return to my history of over-restricting my food. I also don't have a big budget, and I really appreciate that you acknowledged that you don't need one to eat well!! I'm definitely going to rewatch this video, both for the recipes themselves and the approach to food! 💜 Please make a part 2! ☺
I recently got diagnosed too-and ditto!
How did u diagnose it , currently I am facing ,
Hope to see more vids with Jo. I love how she empathizes and not shame people's diets and just provides healthier alternatives. PCOS has been a really challenging especially with weight gain. Thanks Featr!
Yes! Best believe that this is a safe space!

I can't believe it took me over a week of heavy meal research to finally find someone giving food ideas for people that can't afford to spend over £50 a day on ingredients. I come from a bread and rice life with lots of tea so being told to stop all wheat and dairy and live on veg is just not making by gut happy. Thank you for this! more PCOS stuff please!
I like this series! I couldn’t click fast enough when I read the title. I’m a mid 30’s woman with PCOS and a long family line of diabetics. So this is very helpful! 😄
Actually this video helped me a lot to feel better. All the pcos recipes are full of difficult, expensive and unavailable items. It's hard to substitute rice with anything else. I already have oats. I used to have roti made with wheat but gluten is bad. The options are very limited. I think I'll try to stop intermittent fasting, start having small meals frequently with low glycemic carbs, have rice with proteins and fix my sleep and exercise schedule. Just want to share a meal I made yesterday. I cooked fried rice with canned tuna, eggs, beans, carrots, onions. I think it was delicious and satisfying.
I m gonna try it mam Thank you so much. 😊
Hey! Wow! Featr is getting so much better everytime. I am loving this so much!
Glad you enjoy it!
@@featrmedia Super! More of these please. ❤️
thank you for sharing this video! as a teenager with pcos, it has taken me two years and going to find a diet catered to me. hoping to see more videos like this for women who are struggling!
Thank you so much for this! As someone with PCOS and diabetic loved ones, it can get so stressful thinking about what we can and cannot eat.
I am looking forward to the rest of this series. You're doing the world a service!
More of this, please! It’s instructive and I love Jo’s energy! Love this episode!
Jo Sebastian has a wonderful advocacy and very balanced nutrition advice! No drastic or fad diets, no over restrictions, and based in the latest science. Power to you!
As someone with PCOS, I am loving this series so far! Looking forward to more contents like this!
This is so timely. And I love it when they used market friendly ingredients. More of this. 💛💛💛
I love Jo. For the tofu on rice dish, I would recommend a Tokwa at Kangkong in Oyster Sauce since that will address both the flavor component as well as getting in more fibre to the dish. Have Jo in more things please!
Just found out my HbA1c is pretty high so I was advised to remove or lessen carbs and sugar for 3 months. This vid is perfect! Kudos!
More of this content please 😊 it makes everyone aware who are the people dealing with this kind of situation especially nowadays, during the pandemic ♥️
She is so funny! More importantly, articulate and communicative. Definitely looking forward to more of the nutrition videos! 🤗
As someone with PCOS and a viewer of FEATR, this is really helpful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this! I was diagnosed with PCOS about a month ago and have been really struggling with a healthy food relationship
This is awesome! I have PCOS and it is so hard to explain people what it is. Constant fatigue out of nowhere, grumpiness due to hormone imbalances and weight gain!! They tend to say “”maarte ka lang”. Thank you Featr for tackling this one, it helps us be confident and know what we can eat to help us. 🥹💖
I love this video! Very informative to us with Pcos and diabetes. Thank you Featr!

FEATR keeps on dishing new features out. This channel is becoming better day by day.
Thank you Featr for featuring this video because I really have to follow my diet prescribed by my dietitian because I have weight gain issues related to irregular menstrual periods.
As someone who has been living with PCOS (and consequently developing disordered eating behaviours), I appreciate informative yet concise videos like this one. I also appreciate the compassion for us big bellied cysters 🥹 We develop so many other complications due to PCOS, but sometimes it's the change in our appearance that takes the heaviest toll on us. I will be trying out these dishes very soon. Thanks, FEATR!
amen to that! also just wanted to share, as a big bellied lady suffering from endometriosis but thinking it was just pcos, you might just want to get checked for endo too! hope you find relief soon xx
Super love this! More recipes for PCOS pleaaase! 🙏🏻

Thank you for this segment Featr! Could you do Filipino ingredients for managing Endometriosis please! Especially for people transitioning to a more healthy/anti inflammatory diet. I’m missing toyo and tapas hahahuhu
Having diabetes myself and female family members having pcos, this surely caught my attention. From the get go, the video is informative and very light hearted. Kudos!
why do you still have diabetes? you can get free of diabetes in a year or less by cutting sugar and carbs down to 5% of your daily diet combined with fasting daily at a minimum of 16 hours. that means having eating window of 4-8 hours. it also means eating more of high protein and healthy fats. getting carbs from leafy non-starchy veggies, avocado and some nuts
More of these please! Good to know platforms are really helpful
Hi Jo thank you, more of this content please
hahaha at that "not all nutritionist knows how to cook"! I for one agrees to that. There's that common misconception that we are stationed only in the kitchen/cooking area. After acquiring my license, I applied for a Clinical Dietitian post at a hospital and it was a rewarding experience. I taught patients about their medical conditions and how diet can be used as a therapy and a prevention method for diseases.
Looking forward for more episodes with RNDs involved. kudos to FEATR!
I love Jo's energy 🙌🏼😍
Thank you so much for this PCOS patient here..

Love this topic
More of this! I learnt a lot
Finally some information about nutrition love it!
Talk about the timing of this video release. It’s like FEATR knew my recent search over the internet. 🫣
Finally, a series to address common nutrition issues that a good number of Filipinos are facing. Really thankful you make videos like this which I consider a gem (for being not commonly addressed in a Filipino/Asian setting since as Jo said, resources online lean towards Western culture).
Wow !! I wanna watch more of this!
