I have to say that one of my biggest complaints about the footage of the previous versions of the Ocean Race was that I got SO tired of hours of footage of the guys in the cockpit with waves breaking over them...over and over, and over!!!
NO footage of the boat just sailing through the water, the massive following seas.... the drama of that beautiful, mighty ocean with a boat moving though it. We would get a couple of seconds and then back to waves breaking over the crew.
THIS here was such a treat and I am sure I speak for most of your audience when I say we could watch this footage of the boat sailing and surfing and flying.....the exilharation of the boat taking off on the face of the wave for hours and hours and never get tired of studying the interacction of the hull and the foils with the water......this is just fascinating for my engineering brain and food for my soul. As a surfer and sailor, this is just pure unadalterated porn.
More!, More, more and then more!!
I'm also a surfer and sailor and I know this has got to be a major adrenaline thrill flying a vessel like Malizia through those swells. So glad drone technology also evolved as it did in order to allow us to see this spectacular sailing footage.

Hard to believe that this is what you experience 24/7 since 2 weeks. And it's great that the team spirit is high, you have fun and enjoy the race. Keep on flying across the waves.

So the next evolution in speed could be from this perspective, where the boat plots the immediate course and trim, to the instantaneously changing topology of the surrounding waves and swell. Be interesting to model how best to ‘join the dots’ to make best pace on a second by second basis

This last video is the cherry on top of all the other videos made by Antoine, by far the best Media Person of the race. Through the ups and down this team is the most beautiful thing I have seen in sailing in a long long time. You have made us all dream of flying. Team Malizia is showing us how life should be : they compete and never gives up, caring for each other and having such high spirit and fun. Team Malizia for the win !!

Just amazing to watch, feels like we are on the boat with you experiencing this first hand and congrats to all of you for making this happen on a regular basis, great teamwork ! I remember watching Will in the last Vendee Globe from the comfort of his own home, now he is right there with the rest of the crew, nicely done.

This is a video that one can never tire of watching. The team spirit never stops, the humour is infectious, the camaraderie is totally bonding, the yacht is majestic to watch as it gains air underneath when over 27kts and the drone piloting is fabulous. from all the 5 boats, This is the FUN boat, looks like there are 3 kids and 2 adults on this boat. Boris the observant parent, Nico the absent parent (works in the background), Will the good son, and Rosie the young wild daughter.

Excellent flying skills Antoine! I have the same model drone and the shots you got were epic. Self recovery is so difficult, a 3 handed job. I’ve tried it on dry land and it’s not easy. Can’t imagine doing it off the back of a boat. Well done!
I have watched all the old Volvo Race weekly videos and the Race Documentaries going back to the first race. That was one of the most interesting/entertaining video I have seen. the crew commenting on their own boat clearly shows their fun doing the race. My son is a professional drone/photographer and I can say those shots were epic which means the flying skills and camera angles are clearly world class. Thanks for a great video from all of you.

I guess Malizia had the best social media team on board and on land. Such a great teamwork. I love it. It's so much fun to follow your life on board. I forget sometimes that you are so far away. I've been so grateful that you share all the moments with us. That makes it different to the other teams. The team spirit and the mind set is impressively. You push the boat fast as you can and by the way really try to see the whole thing as an adventure, enjoy the moment, have fun together and also take time to make it also pleasant as possible. Really sympatic. I like it!

I love you guys! I live in Newport and absolutely cannot wait for you to get here! I have to cheer for 11th Hour also, but really you are my favorite team. Somehow you keep having fun. Incidentally, I think being able to STAND UP is a huge advantage. It's awful watching the other teams hunched over or sitting down all the time. Stay safe out there! 🌊💨💦⛵️
