Just amazing. Your videos have the production value of documentaries with multi million dollar budgets. It's phenomenal just that you make these expeditions alone but to make documentary videos of them by yourself that puts the finest film crews to shame is mind blowing. Your videography, drone footage, commentary, the way you edit and the great sound and music is at the highest level. Really appreciate your videos. Keep living and not existing!
I feel like it's been forever since your last adventure. It's always good to get away from the nonsense videos that dominate RUclips and tag along on video's like what Erik puts out. Thanks
Great Video. Amazing camera and drone footage. Absolutely love the scene where the wind blows the waterfall back up the cliff and back onto land. Amazing!
Hi, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, I can understand why you are sailing there, it's mind blowing. What memories you will have. Thanks for sharing that with us, as the vast majority ( 99.999%) will never experience such trip.
Thank you for enriching our lives with such incredible adventure and video production. This particular episode was the first real mental "get-away" for me since the results of the US election, which has contradicted my morals of honor, truth, respect, civil discourse, humanity, and love for one another. Thank you for shedding some light on us in a dark, dark time...and keep them coming, we are going to need this kind of beauty!
The cinematography the you create is truly awe inspiring. You are by far the best sailing channel ever. NBJS is not just your motto, its your way of living. You should be proud of what you have done and brought along all the viewers who are lucky enough to view your adventures. You're and inspiration to me and, I'm sure many others.
I work and live in several war zones, and your videos, Erik, are a reminder of the bigger world out there. Soothing too they are in contrast to the madness
I appreciated your focus on the French fishermen and their hardships which were also described by Pierre Loti in his novel "An Icelandic Fisherman". Beautiful scenery, expertly captured! Sail safe, 😎
Mate....I'm just blown away with your videos....the scenery...the fantastic filming...the narration....the tough sailing...it's all there......keep the vids coming.....👍👍
Just returning from Dr Dermotologist, after 43 years employed with our US Merchant Service, I prepared a lovely Fried Rice and Korean pork loin supper for the Misses. Viewing your latest as the snow has started here in Northern Maine, I feel so uplifted by the Historic cinematography of Iceland. We shipped many a ton of cod from there to Boston during my time with the IOMMP Union. Love your Saily advertisement!
Thank you, Eric, for sharing your experience and tips for handling strong wind conditions! Your journey to Iceland is very inspiring and helpful for learning more about sailing. The way you handle challenges is motivating. Wishing you safe travels on your next adventures!
Getting good at the drone footage Erick Out of all your equipment I envy your cars on the mast. your main sail came down so sweetly I sighed in satisfaction as much as I curse when my main gets stuck halfway down 😅 Stay safe Erick
Erik, by far one of your best episodes yet. The drone footage was excellent, the history of each place you stopped really made me feel like I was there, reliving that history. Plus, it was cool to see you actually sailing the boat, trimming the sails, reefing the main, using the hydrovane and the watt-n-sea, and showcasing some of the cool tech Tessie has onboard. I also eat those dehydrated meals onboard, especially while underway. I have a custom galley but when the boat is heeled over, just easier to heat up some water and pour it in a pack! Here in Alaska, we're lucky to have a vibrant population of Tlingit natives whose ancestors have been fishing and exploring the fjords for probably 15,000 years. They still carve canoes out of large cedar logs, make decorative paddles, perform their traditional songs and dances and wear their traditional regalia on special occasions. These are a people who, until Russian contact 300 years ago, were literally stone-age people. No metal work at all. They carved their canoes using stone axes and sharpened seashells. They set up seasonal fishing villages in specific locations because the salmon and herring runs happen around the same time each year. Really is a fascinating place, so you and I are lucky to be able to sail in places that are still mostly 'wild'. Silje is a good woman, leaving you little love notes, and keeping you in check with the 'FU' note. Tell her I laughed at that one! I'm working on a video for my 300 mile race around Admiralty Island back in June but as you know it takes time to produce these videos. Winter is setting in here, my boat is under her winter cover, so I'll be spending more time indoors, editing videos. I have 4 long sailing trips I've done in the past 4 years and still haven't produced the videos, but will be working on that this winter. Here's a trip I did 4 years ago, solo on my boat with 3 other sailing friends on their boats, to a fjord called Tracy Arm. This is a good video to watch w/ headphone due to the good music I put in it. You and Silje should give some thought of coming to Alaska some day to visit for a week or so. Juneau is a remarkable location, with nothing but fjords, a 250 mile long/40 mil wide ice field and ocean and wildlife! ruclips.net/video/Luus6pXphl8/видео.html
In my language, the noun "sail" references the cloth used to convert wind (=solar) energy into a boat's motion and hence the verb "to sail" only applies to being brought into motion that way. We use our variant of "to fare" as verb when referencing a boat/ship's motion in general. In these terms, the sailing stats after 7m 30s in the video, Erik. It's beautiful storytelling and imagery and deserves its 35K views in one day but in your own qualification all those minutes, if not sailing then are BS? I know, people can grow and learn and change. And it brings a smile on my face.
Congratulations on making it, Erik, and for another beautiful video. The drone footage is so excellent, as most of us sailors never get to see the dramatic expanse of the open ocea.. So thank you very much and fair winds.
Congratulations on making it to Iceland Erik. It must have been a great feeling to know you have finally done it. Thanks for taking us with on the epic trip!.
Thank you, Erik! It's great films you produce, about great voyages. What I like best is your growth path, from where you started to where you got didn't happen overnight. That shows it's feasible for me, too. Now I sail the local coasts of the North Sea. Some day the small boat may bring me quite a bit further. Let's see what the future holds. Thank you for your inspirational example.
great video, thanks for showing the way you handle the boat single-handed, like the part showing the reefing and setting the auto pilot and hydro vane.
As a Norway lover for people and nature,I enjoy your sailing tourist channel, great editing(the best)keep safe sailing👍from a Belgian living in the Philippines as i am retired
Well done Erik, the sailors sailor with your very fine sailing adventure's vlogs. Its calmer for you on this one.I've certainly seen some heart stopping rough weather videos on your channel where your fine seamanship brought you through.God bless.
Dear Erik, Thank you for this wonderful channel that greatly benefits me. I love to journey along with you, as it reminds me of the Sagas of old. I loved the stories of the longships and of Erik the Red. I am not a sailor myself, but I enjoy virtual sailing with VR Regatta. I'm in the early stages of the Vende Globe. I'm keeping up with the pack as best I can. Your vlogs are just getting better and better. I hope you can explore the southern oceans sometime. I also loved the shots of the Seal Woman. Thank you for such beautiful photography of her. All the very best from the land down under - Aussie Aussie Aussie Oui Oui Oui
Amazing cinematography Erik, brilliant presentation and of course your sailing skill. What an adventurer you are, I applaud you! Congratulations, fair winds from the U.K. ⛵️👍🏻👏🙏

Very glad to hear, Thank you!
Faroe Islands look stunning.
... beautiful land, not so beautiful people. slaughtering hundreds of dolphins every year is not acceptable behaviour.
Thank you Erik for this latest instalment. You brightened up my Sunday afternoon.
Your channel has become my favourite RUclips channel. Great stories, action and editing. I'm looking forward the next installment!
What a nice episode. This way we landlubbers still get a sense of your epic adventures.
The stark beauty of Iceland and the Faros is breath taking as is Eriks video.
Erik Aanderaa, expert cinematographer and part time sailor. Just WOW! 😍
Thank you so much. I always enjoy being taken along on your wonderful adventures
A new NBJS video on a cozy sunday. Perfect. Thank you!
I must say, as a novice, I had to let out a laugh when you said a 20 knot sidewind was ‘fresh’…
We love to watch your videos…they are inspiring.

Awesome that you fly the drone in the blustery weather, giving some great footage.
Erik, I did love your images from Faroe Island. They are spectacular. The quality of your imges and editing are second to none. THANK YOU!!!
