    If anyone has ever wondered how many cubic inches a particular engine is like a 6.2L or a 7.0L just multiply it 61, which is the volume of a cubic liter. You can divide a displacement number like 427ci by 61 to get the liter volume.

    Bought a new 2019 Corvette Grand Sport, with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and it’s a great car! Huge power, fantastic handling, and with the magnetic ride control, the car goes from track stiff to cruising smooth in an instant. My wife even asks when we can go for drives in the Grand Sport, and that rarely happens with my NSX. Buy one.

I'm so excited that the C6 Z06 came out in 2006. This means in a couple more years, it will continue to drop in price to where I can most likely finally afford it. • @thorandmoljnir
      @thorandmoljnir 9 лет назад +1

      Agreed. I thought the new Z06 was going to be ridiculous, performance-wise.
      I've yet to see any real world testing that matches the 2.9 to 60 and 10.9 quarter mile times Chevy claimed.
      Instead they made it too heavy, put on too much aero that is severely limiting its top end. Plus it overheats even in cool temperatures.
      Other than the style, which I love, that car is a huge disappointment.

    • @spraynpray
      @spraynpray 9 лет назад +1

      thorandmoljnir See, I greatly dislike the "hey I'm a toyota product" style and the bad visibility that comes with it. So the C7 to me is dumpy. Each generation the corvette improved massively until the C7, which was a big step backwards.
      They made the corvette *gasp* unreliable. Embarrassing!

    I love it. just bought a wrecked 07 Z06 with 12k miles for 21,500 Now it will cost 28-30 by the time it's done however that will include the cam heads headers and exhaust so 600hp for 30k is ridiculous. Good bang for the buck. As for those who cry about a salvage title... my check book thanks me and my foot can't tell the difference. Who cares about resale when you plan on keeping it!

    The only complaints you have are the seats? I'd rather have functional shit over pretty shit inside my interior that's only going to fall apart like Nissan's cars. You were absolutely wrong about the C7. 6.2L V8. And you're driving the automatic.

      golferchin76 I agree. The C7 is the car all the limp wrists wanted. More expensive junk that doesn't have anything to do with performance. Extra electronics to break. Super duper extremely ugly (which means stylish and fashionable). Terrible visibility. Direct injection to clog up. All the bad that non-corvette buyers wanted that would normally buy a luxury car.
      Also the C7 is ugly.
      Did I mention 3 times that the C7 is ugly as hell?
      Because it's ugly.

    no.. the intercooler sits on top of the supercharger. what you're seeing through the glass is indeed the intercooler.
    also, it's not a plastic engine cover like most people think. that is the actual aluminum intercooler we're looking at, not some flashy cover.

    To what extent are you referring? With a big cam, CNC heads, full exhaust, pulley you get about 660 BHP with a very rough idle, 630BHP with a smaller cam. If you go SC with a centri or twin screw you make about 690-730BHP~ with a good tune on 91. Wuth intake, cam, heads, SC intake on a LS9 you're making 750BHP without even touching the exhaust. Go 3" with 2" headers and you make nearly 800 for under 10K in. Or swap the SC with a bigger twin screw and make 900-1000bhp for

    I'd Drive the Z06 carbon edition, while very pricecy, for the $20,000 price difference between the ZR1 you could do a few mods that would cause it to crush the ZR1, and still have all the cool stuff the ZR1 boasts, and that 7.0L 427 makes the most eargasmic sound ever! I will own a Z06 or the new 2014 Z/28 camaro one day, just have to graduate college and wait for them to depreciate a bit lol

    They can figure out a way for hydraulic valvetrains to withstand such rpm. My car has a hydraulic valvetrain, as does the boss, which sees 7,500 rpm regularly. It's about keeping the valves lightweight and/or hollow and keeping any rotating mass to a minimum weight while maintaining its strength.
    The cam drive would need a double roller chain with titanium bolts to keep strength up/weight down, bearings would need to be redesigned and pushrods should be forged from a billet of titanium as well.

    The Z06 is a small block 428 LS motor. 7 liters is 426-429 CI. Most people think it's a 427, but the Z06 engine is technically a 428.

    you're right, but didn't explain it very well... it's the deck height that defines "big block" from "small block", which is the distance from the centre of the crank to the flat face of the block where the head bolts on

    Heading into 2013 my top 3 favorite 2door sport coupes 1) 2013 Viper SRT 2) 2013 Camaro ZL1 3) 2013 Toyota FR-S. The Viper just looks fresh and sounds great. The ZL1 is just a all around success and the FRS will be a highly favored tuner car in the upcoming years. I truely love the Corvette but performance was not the issue, its interior design needs work and I want to see some new creative lines with the body. Dont get me wrong the ZR1 and Z06 are monsters.

    I know the 427 displacement has a lot of heritage at Chevy. 428 is typically thought of as a Ford displacement. However, engine displacements are rounded up routinely across the industry. The Ford Coyote 5.0 liter is technically a 4.951 liter engine. It IS an honest 302 cubic inches though :P
