So glad I found your channel ! I’ve often wondered if part of my severe anxiety has been related some to OCD . I know they correlate in a lot of ways. I have been in the cycle the past 6 months again and it’s horrible. Almost 44 and doctors like to dismiss anything to do with perimenopause. I know this plays into the condition . I’m watching all of your videos ! Thank you
@@JillPalmer-ek8gn Hi thank you for watching. I’m sorry to hear you have been going through a rough time with this. It’s entirely possible that OCD & your anxiety are intertwined as that has been my case having both GAD/OCD. It really has heightened during my 40’s & being at a similar age myself those fluctuations in hormones can go on for a long time until the actual menopause. It’s conceivable to assume we’re going through perimenopause which is why those fluctuations can bring on changes in moods & bouts of anxiety, OCD & depression. It’s even more likely I found out if you have experienced them to some degree in the past too. I really hope my videos are helping you in dealing with these issues & I wish you all the very best. Much love Kirsty! 😊❤️🫶 Xx
Hello there all of youre videos are a massive help to me . I suffer from false memory ocd and have for a really long time now. Is their a way of you privately messaging me on youtube with the therapist that worked best for yourself many thanks
I have had my ocd pretty much under control for 10 years... then bam its back with a vengeance this last few months. I think im in perimenopause... can this make ocd pop up again like this?
@@helenmorris8089 Hi thanks for watching, this was pretty much my experience too. I didn’t think OCD would affect me again to the degree it had in the past but then being in my 40’a changed everything. I had my 5th child at almost 42 & nothing seemed to go back the same after having her. I now realise I had entered perimenopause after much research although I was surprised that medical professionals seemed to suggest it wasn’t likely to be that. It’s very hard to diagnose though but it can go on for around 10 years before actual menopause, a resurgence of mental health disorders can show up again during this time. I’m sure having a baby impacted my personal situation too but now realise the perimenopause especially being in my 40’s was the most likely scenario even if doctors begged to differ. It can’t be pinpointed by blood tests alone but I think many doctors are more open to symptoms you’re experiencing too these days. I truly understand how difficult OCD is & I hope you’re doing better, I wish you all the best! Much love Kirsty. 😊❤️🫶 Xx
@@Anonymous10317 We would remember if it was true, if we have so much doubt surrounding it & can’t remember this is classic OCD uncertainty. Hope this helps, wishing you all the best! 😊
