If you think about the advantages of the zombies over artificial non-biological life forms there are few points of merit. Their ability to infect is easily duplicable and has little use against robots or in a world without something to infect. Their strongest advantages are typically shared by robots such as not needing air, lacking pain receptors, and being able to take damage in ways humans cannot without losing function. Those zombies with superhuman abilities might make that useful, however given Awesome android and other robots with the ability to duplicate superhuman abilities it should be quite easy for Ultron and his robot army to duplicate the majority of abilities both by copying and by using technology to simulate the effects. Meanwhile look at their disadvantages. Their hunger is a huge disadvantage. Even when it stabilizes it presents a risk as it could reassert itself if the zombie feeds. It drives them to compulsive behavior and often causes them to turn against each other breaking any advantages cooperative tactics brings with it for anything but feeding. They are like sharks, but robots possess much greater capability for cooperative communication, interaction, tactics, and strategy. They are also decaying and very vulnerable to various attacks on flesh and despite being more resistant to fatal injury still have much of the flaws as living beings in that regard compared to robots. There is very little benefit to merging artificial life with the zombies as enhancing those beings brings very little unless they want to make zombie bombs, but the risk involved in improving their enemy is far more of a threat than the zombies present as they are being an opponent that should actually be very easy to defeat. Just with proper coordination and optimization for their opposition it should be very easy to defeat the zombies utilizing the strengths of the robots and the weaknesses of their enemy. Magneto is the only real threat and with a dedicated plan should be easy to take down with merely strategic losses. His ability to sense and manipulate metal is the real threat and once that is neutralized the rest is just targeted elimination. Prime Sentinels would be a great weapon as they can act as great lures being human, but then also act as a powerful weapon when activated. Just plans like that should reduce it down to clean up in a short span. The biggest advantage as well as disadvantage of robots is they are tech and as such can be attacked in ways biological organisms typically cannot, but it is one the zombies should not be able to exploit so long as you keep them hungry and attack strategically while not putting all eggs in one basket so one virus or EMP etc. can stop them which is something a genius computer would be unlikely to do. I'd say a lot of the secret war titles and battleworld titles were rough due to the fact they only had a five issue story arc and had to cram a lot of content in such a short series, however, there were exceptions.

The sheer thought that Ultron found a way to fuse together an ultron skeletal structure...something strong enough to take on the Incredible-freaking-hulk...with a zombified, no-pain feeling, go-for-blood zombie villain is kind of intriguing. On top of that, knowing every other Ultron from every other universe, all possibilities, it's not likely that Ultron would just let this slide. The chances of him taking over the hive mind yet again isn't a question of how...but when. When...when they do, everybody's dead, no question.
