We want to change the Adsense account which we cannot do from the channel as the adsense account is closed for Website issue. If we transfer the ownership or move the channel to other account will that change the adsense account or give option to aply for adsense with the youtube monetisation? Hope transferring/moving channel keeps all subscribers and watch hour intact. Note - Our youtube chanel just cleared the threshold for monetisatin.

Awesome! (except for the comments loss). Yeah I dont know man, thats why I made this video. I really don't understand the complexity. On top of it like I showed in the video, if you ask RUclips they say you can't do it at all. If you talk to Workspace (Formally Gsuite) they say they dont support RUclips channels. So many of us just used legacy Google Apps back in the day as our main accounts. What a mess but at least there is a way to move them.

When you accept the invitation (1:17), does that invitation come immediately, or is that what you are referring to with regards to waiting 7 days (3:40)? My son just got his first iPhone and had been using my gmail/RUclips account for his own channel. Now that he has his own phone, I set him up with his own email and account...
The invitation should be quick. The 7 days is to transfer primary ownership. You have to be an owner for 7 days.
I don't have the "Add or Remove Managers" option in my settings... Any advice?

I like gaming, I want to transfer the gaming youtube account to another one. My problem starts at 2:22 when it shows Channel managers. However, mine doesnt show that, it's all the way in the youtube studio permission. Even if you go in there, there will be no owner to choose, only starts with manager. And it doesnt do anything. Now i am scared to delete this account because the manager on the other account either will be owner transfered, or deleted as well, probably deleted. Now I don't know what to do probably because my youtube is just different.

Hey sorry, you are so helpful and I just want to clear up some confusion on my end.
I have my current account, I wish to change the email attached to the account. So to do this, I associate my personal account with a brand account.
If I perform these steps, assign my NEW Google account to the brand account as an owner. Then make it a Primary Owner and delete the prior owner/my personal account google account. I will get the email transfer I desire while at the same time retain the original personal accounts subscribers and videos?
This still works I take it?
Im not clear, your current account, is there already a RUclips channel attached to it? If so and it is not a Brand Account already you will lose likes, and your own comments. For this to work and lose nothing, the YT channel has to be a Brand Account. You can still do what you want but you will lose things.

I guess I can still test it once the 7 days are over just to make sure and see it for myself, in case google changed anything. Depends on how things go I guess, I am prioritizing other things rn
One of the channels I wanted to do this too was a personal channel though, so I will sadly have to just transfer everything manually and say good bye to the comments and backup the videos. I just need to delete that email. Would moving the personal channel to a brand channel help at all?
I’m not totally sure to be honest. There is a Google doc out there on it and I’m sure someone has done a video on it. You last resort could be the RUclips community forums or Reddit. I think you might be right. You lose comments and likes but I’m not sure about subs and videos. I never converted mine. It was tied to google + and I think they made any channels tied to that brand accounts when they killed it. That’s why I just have my channel on a plain old gmail. Google is constantly starting services and nuking them.

I tried Reddit, the mods for the subreddit are the worst. The RUclips Community Forums were shut down indefinetely and they plan to reopen.
I meant in the past. I don’t recall migrating this channel to a brand account which is why I don’t know what happens.
@@CreateNowSleepLater they still never turned google+ accounts into brand accounts. You just don't remember making a brand account or turning it into one, or you made a brand account for Google+ which is the same as making a brand account for RUclips and anything on Google

Hi thanks for this. I invited my other email to manage my channel nearly 30 days ago now and it still doesnt give me the option under permissions to change the account to primary owner, it still just shows the original as "owner" and this one as manager, there is no option in the dropdown box for primary owner even though its been well over 7 days since I accepted the invite?
Edit: Ok somehow my channel wasnt a brand channel or whatever so now I've had to create another random channel under the OG email so I can transfer my main handle to a brand so I can then reeinvite my new email on and wait 7 days again lol. Guess ill try again
Is the channel you are trying to transfer a brand? The destination doesn't matter if it has a YT channel or not. If not, be careful making a personal RUclips channel a Brand. You lose some thing, comments, likes, etc.
Thank you. I followed the steps, but it transferred management/ownership of the channel. But the videos, subscribers and likes are still under the old channel. So, technically, it only changed who can manage the account . I was hoping that both channels would merge. Is there a solution to that ( merging both channels, including data and subscribers)?
You cannot merge two RUclips channels.
thank u for the tutorial! i would like to make a new google account and change the primary ownership of this channel over to that, but i have a few questions regarding this tutorial and what i might loose if i do so.
1. i have a membership to another channel that i rlly do not want to loose, but it would appear in my emails that this is linked to my google identity and not to my youtube channel. will my membership transfer if i switch primary ownership to a different google identity? will i be able to keep it if i leave the original google account as one of the owners, or does that one HAVE TO be the primary owner in order to keep the membership?
2. The main reason i want to transfer the primary ownership is managing other people's channels. i rlly dont like having to give ppl the current email address i have in order manage their channels (or having ppl see it when they manage mine). if i change the primary ownership of my youtube channel to a new google identity, will i be able to prevent ppl from seeing the original email address all together? and for channels im already managing, will it automatically transfer my managerial ability to the new google identity when i transfer it, or will i have to go through the process of giving them a whole new email and become a manger for them from the new identiy all over again?
3. i have age-verified my google account in order to watch age-restricted content on youtube, but am extremely worried that transferring primary ownership of my youtube account to a new google identity will get rid of this verification, since i dont think its linked to youtube, but rather to google (please correct me if im wrong). i have no idea if google would let me use the same piece of ID again to age verify again on a new google identity, especially as the new one will not have my real name anywhere in it. i will also need to use the same phone numbers for both google identities and was wondering if this would be a problem?
4. another possibility i have considered is to change the email address associated with the current google account i have to a new outlook email. if i were to do this instead, would it have the same effect of changing the email that is associated with my youtube channel? would this in fact be the better option to achieve the outcome i want?

That is ...a lot of questions. What membership are you trying to retain? Its confusing because you keep interchanging a channel with managing other peoples channels. If you are just trying to manage a channel, your own or others, they dont need to be primary owners. They can just be owners or managers. That gives that google identity the ability to manage the channel from their own Google account without logging in using the email address account like you described. It sends an invite just like in the video. So both of you can manage it. I can't speak to age verification but if you set it at the Google account level, It wont transfer. The thing is, if you are still viewing content from that Google account, it doesn't matter but its not clear why this is an issue for you.
This video is about managing and transfering ownership of RUclips channels. If you are still keeping that Google account to do other stuff, Gmail, Internet browse, then you can still keep your stuff. I guess Im not sure why don't just use multiple owners. Maybe I don't understand?

Can you move a youtube channel from a personal account to a brand account? This is what I'm looking to do.
You can but I would research it heavily. There might have been downsides (like losing comments) but I don’t remember. I’d set up tests too since you can do it on free accounts.

How do I "brand" my acount? I assume I don't have it because I don't have add or remove managers option.
You have to convert it but you lose all comments, likes etc. I would do research on that process to see if that choice is right for you (this video doesnt cover that)

Have to migrate to a Brand account but you will lose all likes and comments made but the channel. You dont lose subs though.

Adsense does not get moved, it’s basically another account which is why you can link multiple channels to it. If I recall, you aren’t even allowed multiple Adsense accounts. When I moved this channel, the Adsense link went with it.

Yes, a Google account can be a manager or owner of many brand accounts.
Hi. Just found your video and have a question. I’m starting a new channel and didn’t want it linked to any of my personal google accounts. So - I created a new google account in order to create my RUclips channel but I stupidly made the Google account a business account - which is what I didn’t want.
If I follow your instructions, will I be able to switch the google account associated with my YT channel to a new personal google account?

When you say business account, you mean brand account?
@@CreateNowSleepLater I don’t know if that’s the same thing. I thought brand account was for RUclips specifically. When you go to set up a google account it gives you 3 options. One is a personal account and the other is what they call a business account. Has nothing to do with RUclips. But I then created my RUclips channel under this new Google business account (instead of a personal one). Unfortunately Google doesn’t allow you to change your google account from a business to a personal account. I need to unlink my channel from this google business account and link it to a different Google personal account.
Will your instructions work for that?
Hmmm I don’t know much about the different accounts however I believe as long as the channel is a brand account, it should work. Doesn’t good charge for business accounts. I thought those were workspace accounts. I’m not familiar with a free business account. I moved this channel from a paid legacy gsuite/workspace account to a regular free personal one.
It looks like I'm going to end up losing some stuff. The account that I want to move is not a Brand account. In order for me to transfer ownership, I have to transfer that account to a brand account first. During that process, I'll lose some stuff.

I have this channel on one email/google-account. But I have a different channel (that I want to revive) on another email/google-account. Will THIS video tutorial actually MOVE the other channel to this email/google-account, or only make this account the "owner" of that channel?
Sort of. This was the biggest part of the confusion for me which is why I included the emails with Google. RUclips data doesn't really live in the email/google account. So you can change the primary ownership which essentially does what you want. You can go back after everything is cool and remove any ownership or manager permissions from the original email/google account you created the channel on. That is exactly what this video is for. In my case, I was stuck in Google Workspace but it doesn't matter. The one gotcha is the brand account requirement. You can still do it without out that but you lose comments, likes and etc.

I don’t think so. You’d need to check googles docs on it. I didn’t cover that because you need the brand account.

To the stuff associated with the brand. So if you browse YT from that same brand account, meaning its not just the account the brand is attached to but you are YT as the brand than yes. It brings it all over anyway but which likes, subs and history depend on how you are browsing.

@@chrissygram When you are on YT, the top right has the account you are using to view. If that is the brand account then yes. Either way, whatever browse activity the brand has will come over. If you are viewing YT as the email account (even if you dont use the email part), then that will not come over.
If two RUclips channels exist under one google account, and one of the channels is demonetised (which apparently means no channel under this google account can be monetised), can I move the channel that did not get any strikes to another google account? Sorry, a bit wordy. Thanks for the response in advance.
Thats a good question. Does it already have Subs you dont want to lose? I wasn't aware that they restrict monetising another channel on the same Google account. I'd check the RUclips community forums or reddit. Make sure there isnt some kind of penalty on adsense since you are only allowed one adsense account.

Hmmm. I honestly don’t know. I think you are only allowed one Adsense account. I suppose you have nothing to lose but you can probably ask on Reddit or the RUclips community forums.

Thanks for the video, but sorry I am not following very well, so here is my issue:
SO when google accounts came around, I had no idea what I was doing and made and logged in with a google account and off I went. Sometime later, I realised that I could switch back to my original youtube account, (which is this one), EXCEPT now, I have my google account and this account that are BOTH youtube channels and operate separately and I can switch between them. How the heck do I link all my favourites that I have on BOTH accounts onto THIS account and get rid of the 'google youtube account', but STILL have the accounts LINKED so I can log in with my google account? Please help T.T
I'm not sure. I think what you're saying is you want to combine subscribed channels between two different Google identities, is that right?

Then I also have a google account, which became mandatory to be able to use youtube.
Both separate accounts have been used as youtube accounts (because I did not realise I could switch back to my original at first).
I did something a while ago and now my original youtube account is something called a 'brand' account on my google account (whatever that is), but I can still switch between both 'accounts', and they both have separate libraries, favourites, subscriptions and watched lists etc.
So I was wondering how to combine? them, or just have it so everything is on my ORIGINAL youtube account?

Right, they are separate. You can’t combine them. You can get a download of all your subs from whichever channel you don’t want to use and manually subscribe to them on the channel you want to keep using.

When you say deleted, you mean totally gone? I dont think is a way to restore a deleted channel. If you backed up the videos you can start over. I don't even think YT support would help you but you can reach out to them.
@@CreateNowSleepLater what happened is basically i suddenly got an email from YT deleting my content but i was shocked that i never had such content on my channel, few hours later i got an email saying your channel was permanently deleted for several violations of YT community guidelines, i just backed up my videos and found 10 videos i never remember i posted which is tutorials to download cracked softwares and idk how they were uploaded on my channel that caused it to get terminated

It's very weird because my Gmail never detected a new sign in to my account and it's even hard for myself to login to the account from a new phone because of all the security questions and 2 step verification i set, how can someone upload videos on my channel without signing to it?
I’m not sure but sounds like you were hacked. Linus tech tips got hacked in a weird way too. Hackers got in using a session token. Maybe you have malware on your pc? You might be able to reach out to YT support and tell them your issue. If you go into your Google account, check the login history. Last, if you haven’t already, reset everything. Log out of your browser too and scan it with a number of different av/anti malware tools.

You mean when browsing YT as the new primary owner? Only if you have been browsing YT as the channel/brand account. In my case yes. It doesn't matter that someone else now "owns" the brnad account/channel. The only other thing would be if you sold it and no longer had access to the brand account/channel. Then, no.
i hope someone can help me - i got an official artist channel but they merged my topic channel somehow to the wrong channel which i never even created - but i think its linked to this channel since i can switch between them - so now im left with my main personal artist channel and an official artist channel which is the wrong one - can i somehow merge these two together on my main personal artist channel?
It sounds like they are owned by the same Google identity. What are you trying to merge exactly?

If you mean you have brand acount #1 and it has Artist RUclips channel #1, then you have brand account #2 with Artist RUclips channel #2. Noq you want to merge two RUclips channels? Brand accounts cannot be merged. You can manage or own multiple Brand accounts under one Google identity (which sort of sounds like you have already)

Hi. This is Grayson Peddie with the same avatar. I have decided to delete my old channel after I gather most of the subscriptions from the old feed and resubscribe to their channels from my new entertainment-only Google account. All of my comments are gone, but at least I can go ahead and start planning on migrating my Google Workspace email to a different email provider, such as StartMail. It is a very ugly process, but sometimes I just have to start over and I do not want to re-add comments to videos I have watched over a time span of couple of years. Google gave me the feeling that I've been locked in to their ecosystem and it can be tough to let go of my comments when it comes to nostalgia.
I mean-why, Google? Why...? :(
Your old channel, was it on a Brand account or personal channel part of a Workspace identity?
@@CreateNowSleepLater My channel was a personal channel part of a Workspace identity and I was a sole administrator of my account. However, since I moved my email account over to StartMail and I couldn't figure out a way how to transfer my personal channel over to my RUclips-only GMail account, I've had to start my channel from scratch and delete my old channel.
That's why I only have a GMail account that is solely for RUclips only. I am happy I moved off of my Google Workspace account. That's part of de-Googlefying my life.

Why is Google removing your account? Is it a brand account? Do you have a RUclips channel tied to this account they are removing?

this is insanely helpful! thanks so much - count me as a new sub. I've just migrated my legacy gsuite over to workspace - my intent was to keep it for a year and use that time to slowly migrate the 10 or so email addresses I have to another mail server. however THIS account. Nun-on-the-run has a youtube channel attached to it - and I figured that If I moved this email address and removed it from workspace that I'd lose my youtube channel :'(
the first thing I want to do is make this youtube account an ALIAS of my main account, instead of a separate user - because in August, I start having to pay PER USER. so frustratingly confusing!
Their decision making on this is so strange. It’s only made worse by their conflicting communication. There are just reading their own help docs which are wrong. I actually submitted revisions to the help doc. My guess is they just want people to upgrade. The workspace people have no idea about RUclips.
@@CreateNowSleepLater It seems a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing - I've had the legacy account since probably 2007 - and most of my family members have an email account with my domain. I'm not even sure that if I migrate away from workspace, if we'll all keep our gmail accounts or if we'll lose our calendars or google docs. :-/ It doesn't seem a very clever move - I know they want money, but to go from free to bleeding expensive - they're kind of alienating their users
@@NunontheRun They arent going to let you have a free domain, I know people have been begging for a 1o user family plan kind of thing but Google isnt interested. What you can do is download your your email into a PST file using Outlook. If you dont have the desktop version of Outlook, there are tools out there. I am in the same position. My kids grew up with those emails but I am not paying Google a dime.

Yep but thats a Google thing. You are basically commenting as a Brand, not an individual. Thats why if you give someone else the Manager role, they can comment and it looks just like you.
Okay, so to be clear... if you move primary ownership of your brand account channel to your google email channel... your google email channel will get all it's subs and videos????
I'm going to say yes but forwarn you are speaking in very general terms. The entire brand account comes over. So the more accurate way to put it is you are transfering primary ownership to another google identity, not email channel. I did this exact process in the video for this channel. Thats why I tested the hell out of it so many times and backed it up with email evidence that what Google states is wrong. Its not just click bait (although they may have corrected their documentation).

Unfortunatley the problem is of their own making. Years ago when they were pushing Google + and linking channels to it. Now you have 2 seperate types of channels, Brand which is kind of what became of those Google + channels and personal. For me, I was on a free Google apps that they decided they were going to get rid of until an outrage. I still got my channel the hell out of there. Its so weird that you are better off with your channel on a personal Google account. You dont really get any kind of support, even if you pay for Workspace. RUclips is RUclips. Its really screwed up.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Well... it's been 7 days, I just transferred primary ownership... and... nothing happened. None of the videos on my brand channel or any of the subs on that channel came over to my current one... so that was anti-climactic. Sigh. I don't suppose there's a delay for when it happens? Or maybe it just doesn't work anymore which would be a bummer.
When you say came over to your current one, I’m not sure what you mean. If you transferred primary ownership to another Google account, you go log in as that NEW identity. In RUclips, click on your channel icon and under switch accounts, you should see that brand account there.
I've been jumping through a bunch of hoops with google workspace support trying to do the same thing.
I hit a wall when they said it's impossible to transfer a channel from a workspace account to a standalone google account (which I guess is technically true). After this they told me to contact RUclips support for further help. I didn't have any luck figuring out how to get support directly from the RUclips team. Likely because we don't have a partner account or anything like that for our organization. Very small potato's.
My org has an ancient gsuite account that exists from the time before our migration to Office 365. The pervious admin never properly decommissioned the old service (likely because they would have to deal with fun stuff like this!). One of the user accounts under that gsuite tenant is the account that owns the channel for our organization. I just checked and the channel that hosts all of our content is indeed a brand account! **Breaths** Ok so there may be some hope after all.
I want to thank you for your clear, concise, and overall dope guide here sir. Thank you for making something easy that workspace support couldn't. the internet would be lost without people like you. I will be executing this next week and getting rid of gsuite once and for all soon after!
I actually don’t recall converting my channel to brand. My situation is exactly the same. I think somehow if you had Google + linked, they converted it for you. I know I never did it.

If you follow this? None. That’s why I showed the before and after. The only thing I couldn’t test was the custom url.
I lost my history, and now I have 2 copies of the same account, my main account shows as the old brand channel info which I cannot change. I have no idea WTF happened. Proceed with caution. Google is a mess.
OK, I attempted this and failed miserably. I'd say all due to Google's horrific UI. First super fail was... for the warning window when moving the brand channel, the cancel or accept buttons were cut off at the bottom! So, I thought I needed a channel on my google account to replace with the brand channel. Made one with the handle I wanted. The brand channel replaced it. Then what? Suddenly I had 2 brand channels of the same name, and my real channel is gone, not replaced. And, now Google is telling me that my own handle I made cannot be used for my now "owned" brand channel. Also, all comments and history are gone. Everything else seemed to move over, though (likes, playlists, subscriptions, videos, watch later), just no history. AND, because those @#$% buttons were missing in the window (just barely in the lower right, an you can only see the top 2 pixels). Overall, Google plain sucks. This should take 1 click. Also, my brand channel still is a profile under my Google account. WTF, Google? No way to merge account profiles. Total and complete UX nonsense. Thanks for trying, OP.
It really is terrible, I agree with you. Took me a year of panic to figure this out.
So will I lose all my comments, likes, etc? if I merge the two?
Did you watch the video? I don't mind answering questions but the answer is the entire point of the video. Your question is too general. Merge from Brand to Brand exactly the way I did it in the video? Yes, you keep everything.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Yeah I watched it but was still kinda confused sorry about that. What I gathered is that using your method, the likes, etc will remain. I'm just confused if they transfer over under the new accounts name or they retain the older account name?

I see, try to imagine the brand account as it’s own identity that own the channel and all the rest (likes, comments, etc.). That is where the data lives. You when you transfer ownership, it’s just making a new owner of that data. As long as it’s exactly like the video, you retain everything. Brand account is the key.

@@yourboybammie638 you’ll need to be more specific. I haven’t seen any changes that it wouldn’t work. This isn’t a hack, it’s actually the way it’s designed to work but Google is so silo’d, they can’t explain it or don’t know. Unless they kill brand accounts, this will work.

Props to RUclips support who worked with me for over a year! This is just as confusing for them and although I blurred the names, those guys were great and always got back to me!
@@kakophonien6514 Yep. Even the ones I just subbed to. You should be able to see on my main page my channel's playlists. Those were created on the original account.
