I’ve said it before but as someone who struggles with their relationship with food and being underweight I appreciate you content so much. Thank you. People who struggle with eating enough also have a problem and it’s so nice to have some content that helps us deal with that. It is a valid issue some of us struggle with.
If you struggle to get enough calories then using coconut products instead of dairy is a good way to add more. Coconut yogurt is really nice and goes with a lot of sweet and savoury dishes - the dried coconut milk powder also makes a good shelf-stable option especially if you just need it for coffee creamer for eg. Also cooking fruit before adding to smoothies etc or just snacking on it - less fibre due to the cooking process breaking it down so it's easier to eat more. Dried fruit is a good option if you need more fibre! Also snacks aimed at babies and toddlers (eg those little biscotti snacks) are generally higher calorie as babies and toddlers need more. They're also usually cheaper!
Jane's Chicken strips hold a similar place in my house. Great in wraps, good with a simple baked potato and broccoli. Pantry and freezer staples for the win!
YOU MAAM ARE THE PERSON THAT SAVED MY MOM. So my mom got C-Diff from antibiotics but she stopped eating and all she wanted was good that wasn't the best for her. So I gave her(and still do allow her to) what she wanted but made her eat a protein with it. I gave her the chicken pasta just added a high fiber/green salad. Her portions have also gotten smaller cuz she's getting full from the protein but still getting the fun stuff. She's older but should still get to eat some dang ice cream w/ Carmel and whatever else when she wants. But just 1 scoop instead of an entire bowl.
Nuts and seeds are a great ice cream topping that add protein and fibre and a bunch of nutrients! I love vanilla ice cream with walnuts and honey, it's a baklava type flavour.
As a currently picky eater, I think I’m going to take your advice. I don’t like salad due the to texture, but with chicken in a wrap I think I will. I will add to my bland food!
This is brilliant! During the summers I struggle to diversify my kids lunches for camp (well, at least my oldest because my youngest is super picky). Never thought of doing anything like this.
My husband is a nugget fiend, literally his favorite food. They are great to just throw into a salad instead of literally buying it from a fast food place. Quick and filling!
Also, having dino nuggets every once in a while isn’t going to cause problems. In fact, having treats like that can actually release dopamine and uplift your mood
I just want to say I love your videos bc I’ve always struggled with food and cooking (probably also executive dysfunction) but your recipes make cooking so accessible
I know everyone is saying this, but the mindset of adding to instead of subtracting from has totally changed the way I view food! Instead of saying “no I can’t have pasta” I’m learning how to add veggies to my pasta. Thank you so much for this advice!
As someone who has a ‘toddler like’ diet dude to sensory issues, I love your videos. I always felt guilty for eating “like a kid” in my twenties and you’ve really helped me see that I can still eat stuff like Dino nuggets or macaroni and cheese.
as a picky eater for 20 years now, this seems so manageable yet so filling! I can't pull myself to make meals, but this is something that I could make and that I also eat individually.. made me feel not so guilty for eating them in general once I seen them combined if that makes sense
I love your slogan!! My dear mom is also a (retired) nutritionist and hers is “Think about what the food brings to you, not what it doesn’t”, i.e. think about the nutrients it contains and forget about the low-fat, low-sugar, low-whatever versions of things. And the importance of enjoying your meals! 🩷 Thanks for spreading your message!
hey, thank you for all your tips!! i recently found your channel and its VERY refreshing. ive had some really awful experiences with dieticians in the past because im naturally heavy, even though im completely healthy, (i do dance for exercise 3 times a week, i eat a variety, my blood pressure is perfectly average, etc etc) which has been unfortunately worsened due to my parents views on their bodies that they project onto my brother and i. however your tips are genuinely very helpful and make me feel better about my eating as someone with texture issues and adhd
I love love LOVE the idea of focusing on what to ADD to meals instead of what to subtract. That’s such a healthy way to look at improving your nutrition.
“Always think about what you can add to a meal, rather than what you should take away”. These words stick with me every time I see one of these videos, and always springs into my head whenever I’m cooking. Nuts and seeds are a great ice cream topping that add protein and fibre and a bunch of nutrients! I love vanilla ice cream with walnuts and honey, it's a baklava type flavour.
@@newcamomile she's allergic to tree nuts 😭😭. Her problems are deep lol. I'm just tryna keep her alive at this point.
I’m so glad to see other people doing this because I struggle to eat but when I can I eat dink nuggets and salad In a wrap 😂😂
this is the first time ive seen someone put dino nuggets in a chicken wrap and i love it
You’re the best!
As a currently picky eater, I think I’m going to take your advice. I don’t like salad due the to texture, but with chicken in a wrap I think I will. I will add to my bland food!
You might find cooked veggies easier to cope with. I love homemade kale chips but don't generally like lettuce for eg.
Your videos have helped me a lot. I'm always adding nutrition to my meals and snacks when I have some. Thanks a lot
I've been using crunchy chicken strips to do almost exactly this. I might try switching so I don't have to cut them into bits first
These are so good. Thanks to costco for supplying them. Mahalo
It’s awesome on how us poeple can make like such simple foods like those nuggets into a satisfying wrap! 🌯
Also, having dino nuggets every once in a while isn’t going to cause problems. In fact, having treats like that can actually release dopamine and uplift your mood
What do you eat when you’re craving something sweet? Been trying to reduce my processed sugar intake
Fruits are always great But dark chocolate is another favourite of mine.
How dare you put the dinos in a wrap! How are you supposed to make them fight and bite their heads off?!
You are so real and a reflection of actual people. Thank you.
Love this. I'm trying this out for my kids.
i love your honesty and simple meals that even i can make. thank you for your encouragement and content
As someone who has a ‘toddler like’ diet dude to sensory issues, I love your videos. I always felt guilty for eating “like a kid” in my twenties and you’ve really helped me see that I can still eat stuff like Dino nuggets or macaroni and cheese.
something about eating my simple childhood meals again makes me feel all warm inside❤❤
I LOVE THIS! Not discouraging eating foods that you like but instead ENCOURAGING you to ADD things to keep you happy and healthy!!❤
practical dietary solutions for an impractical world. love this.
"Why are you eating dino nugguets?"
Because I'm an adult, and I can do what ever I want.
Omg this is sooo cool! I would love to make this for my kids
Love your practical approach to food and healthy eating. Thank you for sharing!!
I always love your approach! Thank you.
Your content remains to be so helpful. Thank you!
as a picky eater for 20 years now, this seems so manageable yet so filling! I can't pull myself to make meals, but this is something that I could make and that I also eat individually.. made me feel not so guilty for eating them in general once I seen them combined if that makes sense
Omg this is so validating cos frozen nuggets and a salad kit is my go-to girl dinner when my wife is working night shift
i love that idea of adding and not subtracting. Helps a lot
Yum!! that looks SOO good!!
I love this !!
such a great message!!
I do exactly this! Lol It’s super convenient plus no extra dirty dishes/pans to wash🤙
If you're wrapping up the dino nugges, does that make them fossil nugges?
i dont know who needs to hear this but it took me working in a grocery store to find out they make plant based dino nuggies and they are SO GOOD
I love love LOVE the idea of focusing on what to ADD to meals instead of what to subtract. That’s such a healthy way to look at improving your nutrition.
You are seriously the most real dietician ever. In the sense that you give actual HELPFUL tips and advice. ❤
i freakin hope that i can eat like this almost every day, eventually. i just feel like i’d feel so energized, healthy, and mentally clear
This podcast is such a blessing!
This has been my go to comfort food lately, definitely a 10/10✨
“Always think about what you can add to a meal, rather than what you should take away”.
These words stick with me every time I see one of these videos, and always springs into my head whenever I’m cooking. Extreme diets, fasting, whatever, always leads me back to bingeing at the first sign of frustration or stress. Kylie’s mantra actively reminds me to try to make things more healthy meals, even if some of the ingredients wouldn’t be traditionally seen as good for you. It’s all about creating a sustainable lifestyle
I do this often!! Thank you for posting! ❤
Omg makes so much sense, Same girl same. I’m 25, and I do this too no shame in bringing your childhood foods to help your mental health. It’s like a dopamine. It’s soothing and comforting.
