@@ThreadBomb Many people too young to even remember the 80s still love it. One of the reasons why Stranger Things is such a hit across multiple generations.
I totally love how this channel is not restricted to horror and action which were the most prominent exploitation genres but also examines other genres as in-depth and sincerely: a true love for cinema in it's best, worst and our favorite: in-between of those two. As for "Revenge of the Nerds", isn't it more of a genre crossover, ftting in both fraternity/college movies and sex comedies? (I mean, I'm mainly bringing these five cents because I think that the former part is where ROTN shines much more then in the latter). Also that was the most unexpected Kane Hodder cameo I've ever seen. And I've seen some pretty unexpected Kane Hodder cameos.
Your videos are literally impeccable. Any fan of movies couldn’t wish for anything better than the videos you make. Please keep it up. Your work is phenomenal.
So let me see if I got this right. You're review of Hardbodies is so hilarious that it makes me want to see the film and the studio is blocking this video from being posted due to copyright law. Nice going, knuckleheads!
I was in my mid to late teens when all these movies were in their heyday, and even though I was a girl, they never bothered me. They were often funny, didn't take themselves seriously. They made no apologies for what they were and that was fine. Another great video Cecil!!!!!!!!! Hey, I knew I recognized Scotty (Grant Cramer) - he was in New Year's Evil! Bad movie, but he was a cutie!
Speaking as someone who was a kid in the 80's, "hardbodies" was a term so widely known that even 12 yr old me and my friends were familiar with it. Probably because it was mainly used by douchey yuppie types and the press and media were obsessed with yuppies back then.
Thanks for censoring that guys shorts near the start, but I think the guy in the gold g-string needed it more! But anyway, thanks for another great review! I wish I had money to give you but at the very least I can tell you that your (very) hard work is appreciated and that I always look forward to your great content! Thanks again, boss!
Well now I'm bummed. I usually check out IMDB after watching one of Cecils reviews and just saw that Teal Roberts, the actress who played Kristi died last year. Great review as always though. It brought back memories of watching this on HBO in the middle of the night.
This and an ample supply of Jack Daniel's have managed to make my Monday a bit better. I wish I could bring JD to work and say "It's just iced tea." Being in retail sucks sometimes. No, a LOT. Yes, I am tipsy as I write this.
There’s a major flaw with this flick that only becomes apparent as you get older. Washboard abs and dimples simply cannot compete with a large bankroll. It sucks, but in real life, the rich tend to come out ahead and on top. These schmucks never would’ve needed Scotty’s help.
The other flaw with this is that the skills needed to make that money are often the same skills needed to pick up chicks, so if they were wealthy of their own making, they would have been more than capable of picking up women themselves.
I'm willing to bet most of the girls attracted to one man's 'large bankroll' is probably still gettin her some "washboard abs and dimples" on the side.
Finally got around to this one and it was a blast. You should cover Fraternity Vacation. That Barbara Crampton and Kathleen Kinmont scene is an all timer.
Aaah the 80s where people weren't all models with bodies out of a comic, hair styled to perfection, dressed in designer and teeth so white youll go blind looking at them too long. No the good looking guys and girls had a mess of hair, bodies that werenormal verging onout of shape other than athlete, teeth pionting in different directions and clothes from a charity shop. Everyone looked relatively human gotting more so down the cast you got u til it got into freakshow territory when you got to the comedy, geeky and quirky character. Ah 80s where humans watched humans who had sex like they were bbrrrrrrrrrrrrr freezin!
Reminds me of the god-awful John Travolta film cashing in on the workout craze, "Perfect". The video box bore the immortal line: "Aerobics, more sex than sweat?"
4:50 "Isn't that where they make ranch dressing?" -Cecil Yes, Cecil. That IS where they make the 'ranch dressing'. Think about that the next time you order a salad.
This is probably a silly question: Are you familiar with Andy Sidaris? He created an entire cinematic universe of B-movies in the 80s. Some of the most spectacular B-movies ever made. I would adore for you to watch and review them. (Unless you already have.) Btw, your videos are some of the best on all of youtube. You're not obnoxious, and you back up your opinions. I'm also a fan of how many facts and side-notes you squeeze into these videos. keep up the good work. You earned a new sub.
It was an okay sex comedy for the time, though the others you showed were better. Unfortunately, the great soundtrack has never been officially released, even though there is supposed to be a super rare LP out there in the world somewhere. At this time, I've only been able to locate 14 of the 27 songs heard in the film. Most of Vixen's tracks are available, with the exception of two - "Be With Me" and "Mr. Cool". It would be great if the other missing tracks eventually surfaced here on YT.
Im confused by your comment. Do you mean you wish you could find a physical copy of either cd or vinyl of an official Hard Bodies soundtrack, or that youve just been unable to find the songs from the sountrack anywhere period cause in last 5 min ive found all 28 songs used in the movie.
@@andrewstacy9094 There is supposed to be a very hard-to-find vinyl LP of the soundtrack available, as noted at the end of the movie's credits. At this time, only 14 of the film's songs have been made (recorded from the film with dialog audio) or officially released. I have all of those. If you somehow found all 28, I'd love to know where.
Dude could you please review a 90's movies GOTCHA. It got big for a short time, but almost nobody talking about it now. Besides it really ear catching soundtrack "Gotcha !!!...", nobody seems to recall the movie it came with.

I went to see this with like 20 friends back in 84. We were causing mayhem, laughing, throwing popcorn and buckets and we got everyone in the theater following suit. It was a scene you don't forget. We had a great theater in a strip mall called Movie City 5. We'd meet there on Friday nights and weekends to meet gals, drag race and see tons of films. We were goofballs. I saw some of the best 80s flix there. Word of mouth drew in the crowds. Good memories of a long gone era.
I already own a double feature DVD of both these films, but yesterday I got that four-pack Blu-Ray which includes HARDBODIES. Also SPRING BREAK, which I also have on DVD. I mostly just got it for PRIVATE RESORT and PERFECT. And it was only $4.99, so it was a good deal.
