    Who needs overdrive or distortion pedals with this amp? Not me. Guitar, cable, amp and speaker. Done.

      a tubescreamer will make any amp sound better, but youve got a point there

    This is the best review for showing of the 'chunk' you can get out of this amp (about four minutes in). Thanks!

    Great review! Finally a review of the ROV25 head from a rock/metal point of view. Thanks!

    Thanks so much. This helped me decide to buy this head. I've got a beautiful ported Jackson Ampworks cab that will pair well with this. I am also hoping to eliminate my dirt pedals entirely. I just don't think there's ANYthing like real tube breakup.

    Might I ask, the head and two mini cabs have enough volume on the clean channel to cut thru a band? thanks for any info.

    I really wish that reviewers would show EXACTLY what settings they use for each sound they create. I cant see from the camera angles they chose.

    Is the cab Hans is playing through a new line of cabs with Filmore speakers for the Rectoverb or the tradition V30s just with a creamy face?

    • @HansPlatz
      @HansPlatz 10 лет назад +1

      Hey Aaron, it's the 1x12 Rectifier Cab with V30s.
      Best, Hans

    Nice review, just one question: it has two power levels, 10/25 Watts. When running on 10 watts is it loud enough to play with a drummer or maybe it should always run on 25 watts? Thanks

    • @HansPlatz
      @HansPlatz 10 лет назад +1

      Depends on the drummer and the music. With 10 watts the clean channel starts getting dirty much earlier. I used it on 25 watts with a loud drummer.

    • @tonidaredevil
      @tonidaredevil 10 лет назад

      So I guess that with 25 watts is ok. Thanks for answering.

  • @soundknight

    why 25 to 10 watts select? that's only 10% less than full power (1 watt makes more sense)

      it changes from triode and pentode. it's really more of a tonal difference than a volume difference.

  • @phmassi

    Does it have enought headroom for a gig?

    • @anxiousnation3820
      @anxiousnation3820 7 лет назад

      It has enough headroom for a gig while distorted however the clean channel breaks up a bit at gig volume.
