Its nice to see a review where the person knows how to play!
Thanks alot Tyler!
This Amp is " A Fire Breathing Dragon " - it has Fender-like Cleans, and That Boogie Overdrive-from-Hell. This is quite possibly The Only Amp you will ever need. oNe LovE from NYC
Awesomeness! Finally a musical demo of an amp! Thanks a lot for sharing RJ!
The cleans on these new "mini" rectos are so much better than the original "big" recto cleans.
I bought this amplifier after I watched your video. Your play is the best among all the demos on Rectoverb on RUclips. Now I am pretty satisfied with the amplifier. Thanks much.
Best demo of this amp. Very nicely illustrated the versatility of the various tones with your expressive playing. Excellent job!
Came for the amp .... stayed for the player ! Golden stuff bro
Thanks for checking out the vid and the kind words, cheers from HOT Topeka, KS my friend!
Wow, sounds great, and even better playing!
This video is one of the main reasons I picked up this amp. I love it. Thanks so much for a great review!
Awesome Tim, thanks for watching! Glad to hear your liking your amp!
Love your playing. Thanks for the video.
Best demo video ever.
Cool ch. 1 Great style - nice hear someone who plays with soul !!
G&L Legacy YES! Just picked me up a Legacy Special, LOVE IT!
Thanks for the demo both humbucker and single coil well done great l want one now.
Killer review, straight through the amp. That's what I wanted to hear. I get tired of these guys that review amps with all the pedals in front. Thanks man, good review and good playing, nice amp, you may have sold one.
Great demo. Amazing tones!
I just bought the 50. Sweet amp🔥🥂
Great playing!
.... That is incredible. I must have one.... Thanks for sharing
I think I am liking this amp. Clean channel sounds clean. finally.
Now THAT'S how you do a review. Tasty, soulful playing.
Thanks for the kind words!!
GREAT playing ! Its been a long time since ive shaked my head like this to a jam like yours
Thanks Breno!
GREAT PLAYING! AS ALWAYS !
Really appreciate this thorough review, and the exceptional playing. Made up my mind and look forward to getting one. Only thing is, i may want to sell all of my pedals now!! This thing sounds so wonderful and versatile. Thanks!!!
It’s a fantastic amp. So versatile. It loves pedals too. With a little less reverb than on this, it really tightens up and gets more spanky!
Great playing and sound
What a great demo. I'm so tired of watching tired old hacks pumping out generic rock and blues licks. This was refreshing and really highlighted the range of the amp. Thanks.
I see my guitar's professor play on you tube.thanks for him.
I think that it makes a bigger difference in sound with the single-coils, more so than than with the humbuckers. The G&L strat sounds awesome through it with a lot of roundness and low-end frequencies., and I love that slight feedback that starts building at 8:35 even on the clean channel -- the amp makes overtones louder!!!
Tasteful playing RJ. Nicely showing off the verb; I can hear Fender crying all the way from the UK!
Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words. Gotta throw a little 'verb in there.
Nice playing RJ, really great demo, just cool riffs and tones. Can't wait to buy mine!
Shane we still have to get ya one!
Great sounding combo for $2000. Not a bad sound in that amp. The clean is amazing, which surprised me.
Great demo.
Great player, great amp!
Thumbs up for the G&L and the amp! I already have the G&L, so, ...
Probably my next amp
Beautiful work. You've earned my sub sir.
Thanks, Brian! Appreciate the comment!
Really good review and your playing is phenomenal!
I like your style 👍👍👍
Thanks Eric! Appreciate you checking us out.
I'm getting this thing. It's so versatile and just fantastic
Agreed! It's a fantastic amp. Give us a call and we can get one of these to you! (785) 235-3786.

Very Tasteful playing.
Nice playing!
I've got one of these in the mail. The 75W Fillmore speaker is produced by Eminence in Kentucky especially for Mesa. 9 yrs in the making.
Dude, your playing and that amp sound AMAZING ! If I didn't already own a bunch of Mesa's I would buy one of these based on your video alone. You really know how to make it sing !
Thanks Luke! Appreciate the kind words man! Fun amp.
sounds fucking awesome .... excellent review
Great demo, really good playing too. It's nice to hear skilled playing that is showing off the amp rather than the player. Thanks for getting this up, Mesa should give you some royalties!
Thanks James! Appreciate the kind words. Very fun amp to demo.
5:51 Repositions pick without missing a beat, smooth man! ;)
Killer Demo. What a Little Beast of an Amp ! It has received some stellar reviews. This may possibly be The Most Versatile Small Tube Combo Amp on the planet ? Impressive array of Tones. I never realized what a Glassy & Pristine Clean Tone you can get from a Mesa. - Michael Caz - NYC -
I agree. I am looking for an amp with a fenderish clean sound but also something with some spunk and more versatility and this looks mighty tasty. I don't need a 60 watt amp so this would be perfect. Wish they were carried by more stores
irockuroll60 I got mine from sweetwater.com and used their 3 easy payment plan to take some of the sting out of the price. I had already demo'd it at a regional store but would have had to pay sales tax buying straight from them.
That amps a 🔥🔥B E A S T🔥🔥
That lead cuts. Nice edge to sound. Not dumble like. I guess I am real old now. Like more liquid smother sounds. But it does have the crunch if that's what u want. Great video. Do like the clean sound very dark.
three thumbs up for testing with single coils too!!
I love my little 25 watt recto verb mam it has a great clean sound r. Get as nasty as you need loud as hell sounds good at low volumes but better the loud you get it
Hello,
Great demo. Aside from the gain, mind sharing what amp settings you used. Thx
Awesome amp and awesome playing. I was not a fan of mic placement and Maybe there was some clipping going on, heard something crackle but absolutely no disrespect nice demo.
Fantastic demo. Do you think that the pushed mode on channel 1 could do hard rock rhythm playing?
Dude's a great player, looks like Eric O'Bannon from the show "Bloodline" ;)
Makes me want to run out and buy one. But as a reality check, and to quote the late, great Tom Petty... "Just because you have Pete Townsend's rig, doesn't mean you're going to sound like Pete Townsend."
great sound and palying... just a question: why do you tune down the guitar ( in D not E )?
I usually tend to lean very(!) much towards those Brits (esp. Vox and Orange) but this thing really sounds the part. It is quite obviously an American animal but it fu... sounds great and it meets my feature wishlist to say 90%! My next free 1600 Euros go to Mesa for sure... Thanx guys!
Right on Ralf, appreciate the comment! This amp definitely can get into that british flavored territory.
Found one fo 1100. Picking it up on the 17th.
What mic are u using. Any compression. I had my due rectifier mod by voodoo amps. But looking for smother leads went to redplate more dumble. But not the crunch that people may like
Nice playing! Love the tone. Do you think this amp holds up enough to play in a 5 person rock band??
I'd play bass with this dude ( I''m a guitarist) just so I could here him do that cool style!
Between rectoverb or mark V 35 wich one is suited for all around amp.
Good demo. What a cool little amp! I'll have to check one out. My DC-5 doesn't sound like that :)
We need to jam some time!
Does the Rectoverb 25 have enough volume on the clean channel to cut through a band?
Came here to review the amps sound, but got drawn in by your tasteful licks. Now, I must have one these amps because I believe it'll make me a better sounding melodic guitar player!
Indeed. RJ is a very talented guitarist! Thanks for your comments.
i have been trying to do the jerry garcia finger picking pick thing for years without success...holding the pick with your middle finger while playing with pointer and ring. i can't wait to get home to try your style!
Right on! I found that it really changed my approach to phrasing....makes you think about every note. Thanks for watching!!!
how could i get one in Mexico? i live in a little town in the center of the country so its hard for me to get into a dealer and say i want this. (i mean the distance of course)
How big a room were you in when you did this demo and would this amp work in a small studio space?
Nice review, just one question: it has two power levels, 10/25 Watts. When running on 10 watts is it loud enough to play with a drummer or maybe it should always run on 25 watts? Thanks
Hey Toni! That depends on how loud you're drummer is......if you're playing all out, then 25 watts is the way. For softer bluesy stuff where you want some natural break-up, go for the 10 watt.
Did you increase the reverb with the G&L? It sounded a bit jumbled (: The PRS killed, nice playing. I loved the amp until the G&L and I love G&L. Too much verb for the single coils! Do you like the Supersonic amp?
Thanks for watching, Eddie! Yeah, the G&L got a little washed out. I do like the Fender Supersonic....Nice fat cleans and smooth, high gain overdrive. Cheers!
It is a loose amp,it is hard to play fast and clean, great demo.
Thanks for that RJ..Nice to see a structured review using both humbucker & single coil guitars that are identifiable with the ordinary semi-pro player. Also I noticed you are straight into the amp with no little helpers on the floor...Your skilful & soulful playing bought out the best from the amp & guitars. I can't find ANY bad reviews of this model which must mean it's top of the list when the time comes to upgrade. The only thing that puts me off is that amp is going to come to England with it's mains input voltage at 230. The 'actual' mains voltage in the U.K. is around 245 Volts..That means unless you use an outboard transformer to drop to 220/230 your EL84's are going to fry in about 4 weeks. People need to know this stuff before they spend this sort of cash. (All U.S.A. made amps have the same problem..It's not the fault of the manufactures, it's the stupid and idiotic rules of the European Union).
Thanks for watching, Pete! Yes this amp is great, it is my go to. They sound like you would hope an amp to sound. No pedals were used on this demo, strait in.
Supersonic Music Great stuff RJ... Some well meaning folks doing amp tests on here should get a tip from your video. Test all the options on the amp and with guitars that we all know the sound of (Strat/Tele/Les Paul/SG type axes). If stomp boxes are used it should be made clear to the watcher/listener. Keep up the good work mate !
Pete. Jamieson Right on Pete! We'll keep 'em coming. Thanks for the kind words, glad you dug our review!
Nice Video!...Did you use some Boost Pedal??...what mic's are those??...Cheers From Chile man!
Hey Gonzalo, thanks for watching! Both guitars were run directly into the amp in this video.
Doze this amp have same distortion as the mesa studio 22plus.
well rounded demo thanks....are the cleans comparable to the lonestar Im looking to get the mesa that does from sparkling to metal so I only have to buy one so far this looks like the best one....going to test drive soon with my G&L superhawk
Yes....I would say they are....not as much headroom, but very round and chimey. LOVE the reverb circuit on this thing, too. Nice choice on the Superhawk!
Thanks for the response I found out the Express 550 plus has the same circuit as the lonestar plus some dirt Im going with that one....have you ever done a demo with a G&L Legacy Special if not I'd like to hear it one day keep up the good work
D Kyle Legacy Special on the list! Thanks D, we'll keep rolling!!!
Are the modes on eatch channel footswitchable? Please someone answer this!
Great review
Hi Dani! The modes are not foot switchable on this amp. Thanks for watching.
We've got some fresh videos awaiting you, including a demo of Mesa's Mini Rectifier as well as the "Metallica Tones" available on the Mark V. Check it all out here: ruclips.net/video/72o7sfsF3WE/видео.html
How does it sound with p90s?
Wow, I've a single rec and im trying to find an acceptable small gig practice amp with inspirational tone. apart from the price, this would kick ass. given up on my search and just lug my head and 2x12. By the way, as others have said, your playing is killer
Thank you Scott, appreciate it very much! This amp really is a fantastic, easy to transport amp that doesn't leave you wishing you had more amp at the end of the day.
Derek whats you opinion of Blackstar amp ?
Hey Aaron, thanks for the question. I'm RJ, the dude in the video. I love Blackstar. We sell alot of them, and I have used them in the studio several times. Very Brit inspired with a bit more grunt. Check out our HT40 video for some different sounds that you can get with them.
does the old rectoverb 50 sound similar to this one?
Hi Luis, there is a definite similarity to the original Rectoverb. The 25 is more spongy, and feels a little more natural to me. I've owned both, and while the 50 is a great amp, the 25 is truly fantastic. It can get as aggressive as you need, but remains very musical. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much for your answer! This demo really shows how versatile this amp can be. The rectoverb series are so great.
Very nice playing. Very musical sir. How about harmonics?
Great overtones in this amp......pinch harmonics jump off of the guitar.
Got mine as a gift online from GC from a customer return pretty much right after they came out. Shipped in mint condition for less than 1K. One piece of gear I will NEVER part with.
Got a good valve amp for $600 with a friedman demonfx distortion $50 and absolutely beast sounds better than the boogie for $4000
RJ Soldani is pretty f'n good, and I don't like nothin'.
I can't stop commenting... :\
Great player, great guitars, great amp, great microphones. But the lousy job on the faders foils all the superb equipment. Recording is clipping as hell. You cannot really say how the amp actually sounds...
Not going to argue with you, there. We were still working out some kinks, and the main problem was our preamp was gradually dying on us, which was causing this clipping sound. We've replaced that sucker and our newest videos sound much better. We'll probably revisit this baby in the near future.
Thanks for checking it out!

No way is that amp worth the $1300-1500 price tag...you can get a used mark iv for under $1000
Kevin Schumacher they’re a great little amp. True on the price tag though. Still cheaper in the USA and elsewhere. $3000 in my country 😕
Sounds like shit through my dollar store Bluetooth
