I don't really care for this era of metallica musically, but I have an insane amount of respect for it. This is literally the guys from Metallica at their darkest hour, and I'm glad they all made it out alive

I love this song. They should re-release St Anger with edited songs (make some of them slightly shorter) and proper drum sounds, it'll be even better. Great stuff Metallica. Long time fan and I never get bored of these guys, always doing something different and great, appreciated.
these four guys never cease to amaze me. they are simply AWESOME up to the heaven and back. ....i will always say it: GODS OF HEAVY METAL. and i adore James. and all Metallica albums and songs.
I have mixed feelings. I just love the way it starts, hate the way it ends. i would edit the parts I don't like, and stretch out the ones I do enjoy, and the song would be really great!!
there is only one thing missing from this album, solos... but regardeless these songs rock hard. and seriously look around. who else is pumping out great tunes like this? exactly.. MetallicA forever \m/
@doomsdayspectrum Most guitars have a length of 25.5" or 24.75" from the bridge to the nut, a baritone guitar has an extended scale of 27" to 30" so you can tune lower and have similar tension as if you were in standard. Basically it means your strings are tighter for low tuning.
I dunno why a lot of Metallica fans dont like this album. If they dont, then they arent Metallica fnas after all! St Anger is one of my fav albums of theirs! Long live Metallica! \m/
Great Album, I don't think this album deserves the hate it got/gets. At first I just bought the album because i just wanted more metallica cds. I just now listened to it 3/4 months ago and now I cant get enough of it, It is becoming one of my fave albums.
ESP baritone viper, 7 string basically. Oh, and its got some paint on it, the guy who did the paint job on the guitar did the same on one of James' many cars.
Jesus these guys can play well live. Just as good as their concerts. Shame they never play anything off St. Anger. People hate it simply because it's not the Metallica that we all knew and loved, but it's still a very great album in my opinion. Love it.
@burningkarma true, but i think st.anger is one of my favories. the black album and master of puppets are great but the sound in st.anger is just so different and theres just something about it that i like even though people dont like it cuz there arent really solos in it.

U can also set the tone (the lil lever on the bottom) and mess with it til u get the right sound they say drop g but u can actually just change the tone around and that works too

I know most people don't like this album (St. Anger) but I just got to say that I really like it. My favorite album is Death Magnetic though but St. Anger is not bad at all (personal opinion). Also, if you read the lyrics they are just so deep and meaningful. METALLICA IS JUST THE BEST BAND OUT THERE! :D
I cannot say that i was or am a big fan of St. Anger, but i think it had some points. I havent listened to it for quite some years now, but hearing then im thinking it couldnt be all that bad. I like the chaotic sound of this version and it has a nice groove in the verse.
@skidrow75 That's not a piccolo man. That's Lars' bell brass signature. It's just tuned horribly. There's a few spots where you can see it from the side. It's 6 1/2 x 14, where a piccolo would usually be around 3 x 13.
first thought on the opening riff: hey, it sounds like Asesino, but they are in F# now, so what the hell is with their tuning? on Gibson page it is mentioned that Invisible Kid is G# standard low as for this band...

***** That would be pretty awesome. Not a whole lot of thrash bands have done much with super low tunings. Slayer had a couple songs in B-standard, or maybe Bb-standard. First song I play when I get an 8-string will be a classic thrash song in a lower octave.

@TheArbiter0 actually this album and along with many other albums made by metallica are oddly relaxing to the point in which they sometimes put people to sleep. metallicas music has been used to get people whom are about to be interrogated into a relaxed state of mind. i know its true because if you sit down and relax while listening to their music u will become sleepy. its happened to me lol
DIE HARD METALLICA fan here, this is a great song. Kool video. I like seeing my childhood heros in the studio, i just think Kirk shout trear this song a new asshole with one of his killer solos. in concert i saw them rip it the fuk up it was pretty sweet

Yeah. I think it may have to do something with it's a newer album or something. Although I have seen a few videos of them playing St. Anger live.
@BulletBanjo it is turned off. (The springs that make it a snare are off the drum itself).
