This video right here is what sold me on the book. I hope WoTC realizes that these kinds of Drag and Drop locations are what DM's crave, and include them more in future releases.
This dude could sell me anything, he's so passionate and ready and knowledgeable. The Giants book sounds awesome, hope the best for the Planescape one too though
As a DM i honestly cant wait to use as many of these adventure hooks as possible they all sound fantastic everything else in the book is just lovely icing on this giantly amazing book. ( Forgive the pun i was compelled to) 😂
These all sound incredibly fascinating. This fellow's knowledge and excitement for these wonderous locales just fully got me on board with this book, which I wasn't really interested in before seeing this vid. Is he the principal designer behind the sites and their adventure hooks???
@@patrickslayter9946 Me too. I think Wildshape needs a big redesign. Personally I was really excited for cool Wildshape Templates, but wizards dropped the ball on that implementation HARD.
Setting executive decisions from corporate aside (we all know the actual D&D team aren't to blame for Hasbro's IP/license fiasco), I think we can all agree that the D&D creative team and their freelance partners have been absolutely killing it with the most recent books these past few years. We'll see how well the anniversary updates go, and hopefully the three-book format used for Spelljammer features some much needed improvements for Planescape (namely with being longer and better able to include more content than was featureable in Spelljammer), because it'd be phenomenal to see them producing multi-book sets with combined setting and adventure content that's up to the level of quality we've received with their most recent single-book releases.
i hope to see more official content like this book, at least in the way it is being advertised = new monsters, hopefully a set of monster templates, location maps, adventuring ideas, and a little bit of character-building resources ... gold for DMs and fun for Players to peruse while thinking creatively
I wonder if we’ll get Voadkyn in this. Or even additional stat blocks for Verbeeg and Ice Spire Ogres, or something that would be a good stat block for Hartkiller. I’d love more lore for the Firbolgs too
They have statblocks for verbeeg in Rime of the Frostmaiden, 2 statblocks to be specific. There's a handful of verbeeg npc's as well. Edit: I didn't see that you said 'additional statblocks,' my bad.
I've been running a giant campaign for the last year and a half! Already pre-ordered BECAUSE this book actually looks good--was disappointed with Spelljammer (even though I'm using it). Reluctantly excited 🙏
I’m just thinking of how stacked worlds could be if you have everything from the Monster Manual, Monsters of the Multiverse, Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons and Glory of the Giants.
2023 and wizards makes black an white maps. For the love of god. Everyone using powerfull vtts with animations and beautiful maps and then the multi-millionaire company produces black and white maps
Le mappe delle tane sono in effetti la parte più interessante anche in Fizban... però comunque difficile che vengano utilizzate tutte, non giustificano l'acquisto del manuale
It is mentioned in the dwarves section of Mordenkainens Tome of Foes that there is still some enmity between dwarves and Fire giants because the fire giants will enslave Dwarven settlements for mining and crafting
Yo whatever happened to that Minecraft x DnD crossover that was planned to come out this summer, and why did you turn the comments off on the initial reveal trailer video?
Yep! Positive and Negative Planes are both mentioned (albeit very briefly) in the Player's Handbook (pg. 300 and in the Great Wheel diagram on pg. 303), and in the Dungeon Master's Guide (pg. 43).
It was a pretty solid subclass. I think maybe the only thing that needed clarification was “throwing” enemies into the air (thus exploiting fall damage). Otherwise, I wouldn’t say much needed adjusting.

I’m so glad. This finally sounds like a book where we aren’t paying $60 just for the writers to say “you do it, DM”.
Agreed. This is the first WotC video in a long time that is actually selling me on a book

It seems the new creative team is doing awesome. I am so interested in this book now.
Cheers!
Thanks for including so many adventure hooks!!
The Annam's Cradle hex map is neat, it gives me old school D&D vibes
Dyson Logos absolutely crushed the maps!
@@Dan-Dillonoh, that's one of Logos's? That tracks then, love his style!

Dan is pretty amazing.
I've been convinced to get this book
Man a Moon Druid is about to get really happy if they can change into those 'mega fauna'.
The CR’s are likely going to be too high for most of them.
@logancuster8035 yea, unfortunately. I hate that beast cr is so limiting.

Holy, was that a HEXCRAWL I saw in there. All is not lost.
Dyson Logos does not miss when it comes to old school vibes. I'm so glad he was commissioned for these maps.

I am so excited for this book, all of these locations sound amazing and I can't wait to use them!
21:29 PC1 - “I want to view long lost and distant family.”
*appears*
PC2 - “Hey I wonder what this button does”
I'm most excited for the formorians
Gorlantor's (sp) larder sounds like my kind of place I don't think I'd mind getting stuck there
This is amazing. I’m all for this
I can't wait to get my hands on this book.
Love all the lore behind each locations! Well done!!

As someone whos running skt and the campaign is exactly at Hartsvale i couldnt agree more with you.

Them: Here's some cool lore.
Me: Alright, I'm with you.
Them: the people who built this place are 20ft tall.
Me: But why though?
What is the free content on D&D Beyond that he mentions at 19:45?
Horizons Edge kind of sounds like a recycle of Radiant Citadel. If I ever use either I'll probably just combine them
2:30 Are we going to get Dire Dinosaurs?
There is definitely a few gigantosaurs (not an actual name) stomping around the book!

Which d&d beyond content has the star forge in it? It sounds really interesting
Is there any emnity between giants and dwarves? Did they get rid of that?

But what about that Path of the Giant Barbarian tho? Y'all kept it the same as the UA right?....or y'all made it even better, right?...RIGHT?!

Well in that case…let’s go chuck some fools!
I mean I like that they worked so hard to create a book but $60.00 for a book with AI art in it is a stretch.....
All the art in this looks so generic and cartoony. I won’t even mention the AI issue. It just looks… boring.
So, basically, all giants of the same kind know each other...?
