  • Take a look at this video on how we utilize wireless technology to transmit sound wirelessly to a remote speaker. We utilize this technique at weddings and other events where we need to do a "back of the room fill", or have a speaker in a separate room for maybe cocktail hour.

    I ordered a system, but it didn't arrive in time for a major gig, but a mini-XLR adapter came in, so I tried my Samson AWX (intended for saxophones) out of desperation, and it worked. Went for six hours and still had charge left! Bass and highs (of course) came through fine. This was the house ceiling speaker system, so it still isn't proof that it could be used on a high-end sound system, but it sounded like it probably could!

    • @djdannybhtx

      Steve Pompeii yes Sir it sure is! You just have to make sure your volume on the transmitter is set to about -36 or so and from there, you can set the output on your receiver accordingly :)

  • @dreamdaycharleston
    @dreamdaycharleston 2 года назад

    What kind of range are you getting with this transmitter? I have been using it plugging directly into evolve 50 (down low on ground), and only getting maybe 75 feet of reliable range. Less with walls etc. after seeing your video, I’m going to plug directly into mixer to get it a little higher up. Still concerned with range though. Have you found it reliable even through walls?

    Great vid. I'm curious about how you avoid overloading the transmitter, which is not designed for anything over 3 Veff. Just keep the volume down on the aux out (seat of the pants)? The unit is designed for mics, but here you are having these great results! If you were Dear Abby, would you tell me not to be so nervous?

    • @djdannybhtx
      @djdannybhtx  4 года назад +2

      Robert Yourell hahah hi Robert! Great question and yes you are right; they ARE designed for mics. The cure for this is to set the transmitter to -36 or so and your receiver can be at -12, 0, or even +6 depending on the speaker you are using. From there, adjust your volume on your controller/mixer and you will hear beautiful volume come out! Cheers and good luck!

    Question: Couldn't you just use the "booth" xlr out for the wireless transmitter if your mixer has one? That way you can control the sound level for the back of the room wireless speakers separately and not need the extra equipment?

    Great stuff. Thank you. A couple of questions. 1-What brand of 3.5mm to xlr cable on the G4 camera receiver to speaker do you use and recommend? 2-Any thoughts on using Sennheiser G4 IEM system vs the G4 plug on transmitter and G4 receivers? Thanks

    • @djdannybhtx
      @djdannybhtx  4 года назад

      Hi Gary! Thank you for watching! So I use the actual Sennsheiser locking 3.5mm to xlr cable. You can find them on Amazon easily. You can use 3rd party ones as well, but I am always leery of that. I have never used the IEM setup but I am thinking maybe the output would not be as strong or go as high being they are meant to be put in your ears. The G4 is meant for Microphone to speaker use so I would imagine you get a broader volume range. If you try the IEM system, I'd be glad to know how it works.

    • @DJMichaelKhoury
      @DJMichaelKhoury 4 года назад

      Anyone have any clarification on this? I’m deciding between the iem system to broadcast from downstairs of a banquet hall to upstairs speakers and can’t decide between this transmitter above that can be used as a mic transmitter too, or the entire iem transmitter box for dependability. I know the transmitter box can go as high as 50 mw as well as this. Curious on your thoughts.

    • @DJMichaelKhoury
      @DJMichaelKhoury 4 года назад

      DJNTV was talking about the fact that the one in this video is designed to transmit mic signals vs the iem sending full spectrum range of sound. I read what you said about the output possibly being lower as not to hurt people’s ears. I claim to know nothing, just researching and curious about what will work best, willing to pay for something that really works great for years and years and can go through walls and floors too! Great video and thank you for posting.
