It’s a sad world, when the council would rather deal with a compensation claim for their lack of maintenance and neglect. Than do the job in hand.
Great effort by the guys to do the job the council won’t. I bet there was plenty of park users happy to see the path and play area cleared. If only they would volunteer to help the boys out. Or even offer them a brew with Bisket’s for the effort.

As a former Grounds Maintenance Operator who did this job, I will say this is down to budget cuts. However I do feel really strongly about how local authorities and councils allow things to get into this condition in the first place. Rate payers shouldn't have to rely on someone as kind as yourself to come along and pick up after them - its surely costing you thousands. I understand it makes good content, so I hope what you do is you document and record everything youve done within your community and present it to the local council, and show that their standards are not adequate. You two are AMAZING! OMG! I’m tired just from watching all your hard work. I think this community owes you at the least a big thanks! I think they should give you a pass to a community center where the boys can swim year round and at the VERY LEAST a civic community certificate honoring your work. If there’s a petition somewhere I can sign I’ll do it! Thank you for all your hard work! Linda - Ohio 🇺🇸

Well done boys that looks amazing, gotta say a huge shame on you to the council for allowing the paths to get like this, where i am we have simular areas and paths like this but our council sends the sweepers out at leaat once a month to sweep them (the big vacume like machines that they use) shame your council doesnt do the same. But you did an amazing job as usual 💖

Excellent job! Too bad the Council didn't recognize this work needed to be scheduled. Seems like a great community project to get everyone out to help perform the work if budgets are limited. Hate to mention, but a small tractor with a blade or rotary brush would have save your backs. LOL! Appreciate all the great projects you and your father take on for elderly neighbors and the community! Cheers!

Ben and Dad are an absolute credit to their home town - a two man parks and gardens dept, apparently.
The local council should be ashamed at the neglect of this path - some of that leaf litter had to be getting on for a decade of accumulation. I see more and more of this sort of thing - community minded residents stepping in where funding cuts (but not tax cuts!) have bitten, leaving us all poorer.
    Chapeau!

Your giving natures - both you, Ben, and Dad Paul - just melt our hearts and have us tuning in each week to escape what can be a very challenging world of nastiness and self-absorption and evil for a bit. It's rejuvenating, really. A mind reset for the weekend with friends and family.
The two of you are so sweet and good-natured make your hard work as fun for yourselves and each other as you can. I laughed when Dad Paul was unceremoniously dumped in the drink! I didn't think you'd top the intro of "I'm a tool!" 😂😂😂

Sadly it should be but we all know how unfit for purpose councils are, all they want is money, they waste the money on stupid non value added projects like rainbow crossings and then they moan saying they have underfunding. Time all councils where disbanded and a proper team of peopl who listen to residents, add value to communities and actually provide the services we all pay for instead of cutting them every year.

Now that you have these paths looking AMAZING the least the council could do is put in a little trench behind the concrete edging so the runoff does not create the same problem again. I would hate for all your hard work to be for naught. You deserve many accolades.
