@@juliemcleod1119 I live in California and my husband had to call a tree company to trim our four very tall California pine trees. They were getting too heavy and they don’t drop pine needles like regular trees do, so the tall pine trees need to be taken care of twice a year. A team of five men came to our home a few days later and were here for about four hours. I made coffee and hot chocolate and gave them each a cup of whatever they liked and I have patio furniture so I put out a plate of Biscoff’s, chocolate chip cookies and sweet Mexican bread. Since it was a really cold day they had to work and long hours, I wanted to show them how grateful we were. The last tree trimmer guy, not sure his real title lol.. He was cool and knowledgeable about all kinds of trees, I gave him, soda drinks and cold water and I offered some food I had cooked but they had brought their own lunch. Unfortunately, he had to take time off because he was very ill. I grew up with my grandparents and my parents always offering coffee or tea, hot or iced, and sandwiches too. Even my husbands job, he meets a lot of people from his job at their homes for home improvement fixes, and real estate consultation for mostly new clients and they always give him food, boxes of fruit, even bottles of wine and champagne! I love the fact that there’s very thoughtful people all around.
We had the same situation, there is a piece of land at the back of our property just like that, all overgrown and we had to fight the council for over two years as they weren't taking responsibility for it. but once we realized that the boundary fence was attached to the deeds and presented them with it to prove it was their land, they got someone to clear the land and replace all the fencing. A lot of back and forth and we all came together as a neighborhood, and now they come out twice a year to keep it clear
So the alley is the council’s responsibility but yet they’ve done nothing to keep it under control and now her fences are ruined because of the invasive nature of the brambles… but if someone ELSE has a responsibility not done, the council’s up their arse to get it done. Sad state of affairs. It’s the same double standard here… city can do no wrong but residents get fined for the stupidest things.
My God, the land is overgrown!! You and your father did an excellent job (by the way, tell your dad we miss him). The lady who lives next door is very friendly. Hugs to everyone and see you next time video🤗🤩❤
What a sweet woman! Loved it when she handed you the tea and bisquits under the fence. 😃 So nice of you two to replace the fencing! I'm sure half way through the job, Paul was wishing he was back on the beach. 😎
I am in Oklahoma, USA, and I ❤ watching your good works, especially so with the elderly disabled homeowners. When I was younger and more energetic, I carried trimming tools in the trunk of the car. Many times I just took time to help someone, sometimes a stranger, often a friend. It might be trimming a few branches or cutting back bushes to clear the sidewalk. 🎉🎉 O happy days, to see their joy. What was a little for me was a lot for them. So, I delight in your youthful energy, as well as Dad's. Your gifts are priceless, and counted in the heavenly realm. ❤❤❤
I love it when the neighbors come out with tea and biscuits ❤ I am a London Brit living in the US and this makes me homesick for British kindness. You and your dad are “right up my alley”😂
We’re kind in America, too. I’m sorry you don’t get that or see it happening but it really does. We’re very grateful and thankful. Unfortunately, people from other countries don’t think we are but we are. The news media and social media and lies are told by people who’s never lived in the U.S., that we’re rude and we’re not. But what’s also unfortunate, is that we’re told the European people are unfriendly. That’s not true either.
I am an American living in mid Atlantic region and there is so much neighborly kindness. We had city workers redoing our street for 3 weeks. On at least 6 occasions I walked out homemade muffins, cookies, cold drinks, and leftover candy and fruit just as a spontaneous thanks! I give but I have also rcvd many kindnesses here in USA. Maybe you can be the spark to ignite kindness in your neighborhood?

On top of it all when the day is done and you're "knackered" you still have to go and empty all those bags. Bravo to your dad too!! Excellent cleanup! I cannot believe the state of that alleyway. You can certainly tell that nobody maintains it. My first thought was, if someone had to leave that way in case of emergency, there is no way they could get out. You and Paul made short work of that mess. Love the mulching blade, it’s amazing. Thanks for your lovely message as always
You guys are so nice and generous you are an example to us all Thankyou ❤BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE Beautiful job on the fence what a relief for the nice lady ❤️
You and Paul are a force to be reckoned with. The difference you make to people’s lives is truly wonderful. I really love Fridays to catch up on your antics. Well done!
Blackberry is the gift that keeps on giving. Put a note in your diary for next April boys, the blackberry be back soon!
Watching from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. I just love all of the kindness, respect, and love ya'll show. I especially love ya'll's accents. AWESOME!!!
Your family Dad and all just a treasure. Thank you for all your hard work Happy Easter
A wonderful transformation of an easily ignored space. Bravo! 🎉❤
Lovely to see your dad back with you, you blokes are the best team! Honestly, it makes me so happy to see you working together and fixing stuff... replacing those fences did my heart a world of good. BRAVO, you two! You have improved my day. So glad that the peeps there keep you going with tea and bikkies and sandwiches too. 😄 Looking forward to seeing how you help Barbara! Happy Easter weekend! p.s. You're awesome with your boys! ♥
The council isn't very responsible, but this wouldn't hesitate to find others. You two are awesome 😇🙏
For some reason I thought this would be a paved alley under all that overgrowth. I have to agree with the earlier comment, a little chemical reinforcement might be helpful in the war against brambles & vines. Great work as usual.
Outstanding job❤❤❤❤❤
love that you did the fence for the lady...you and your Dad are special lovely people. xx all the best from Somerset.xx
Welcome back Paul. Ben and Paul you both did a fantastic job in clearing all that overgrowth. Also that lady that gave you both tea and sandwiches deserves a big thanks too. Happy Easter to both of you and your family.
You two are so great to do these jobs. I'm sure the public really appreciate the work and you are setting a great example for others ❤❤❤
Great job! Love that you replaced the broken panels! Bless you, and your family!❤❤❤❤
I bet if any of the residents extended their garden into that space the council would be soon at them
Friends of ours have a space like that behind their house - was a right mess for years until they and the neighbours basically took it on and now it's like a small allotment and somewhere for the kids to play. Not sure the council have noticed....
Great work! You and your Dad are doing nice transformations! Take care and your beautiful family is growing up fast! God bless!🙏♥️🇺🇲
You two are AMAZING. Such energy! Such good neighbours. A wonderful example to us all.
Happy Easter ALL of you.😊
Thank you so much!
I had a good laugh when Paul shut the van door after you telling him about the brambles!! Have a lovely Easter and enjoy the family.
Looks awesome! Nice of lady to give you some food. Happy Easter!
