Owner's Spotlight: Shinichiro's LM Limited R33 GT-R (Worlds First??)

  • It's not every day you see a stanced out GT-R... Well, truth be told I have NEVER seen one and never thought I would...
    THEN I saw Shinichiro-San's R33 GT-R at the Lowfest event in Chiba and I knew nothing would ever be the same again. From that point I made it a mission to find Shinichiro-San and see if he would be interested in tell me (and everyone else) why he decided to do what he did to his LM limited GT-R. Turns out that he used to race his GT-R on the tracks in a different configuration for years and over time decided it was time for a change. This change he was looking for is what you see here!
    So this time on Tokyo Tuner, join me as I dive into the mind of Shinichiro-San and figure out why he decided to create this stunning GT-R
    Special thanks goes to MenClub Hong Kong for helping me produce this film ^__^ !

    Enjoy!

    The only thing wrong with this is the hate people have for it. It your car build it the way you want it to be. I really,really saw nothing wrong with the car or the person driving it. As long as no one it getting hurt,dying and it's what you want to do then I say do it. As long as what you want can be achieve. At the end of the day it's your life your money,no one help you make the money so they can't tell you how to spend it and it your life live it the way you want to live it.

    One word to describe this family man.
    "Bold"
    Because stancing a Skyline GTR is unheard off and prob a sin to the car community. But his is tastefully done without going overboard. I can tell thou the ride is pretty harsh as the car is bouncing quite a lot on the road. Is this Hakone Toyo Tires Turnpike?
    But one thing that amazed me is this guy must be pretty loaded to get the LM Limited R33
    only 188 were made from May 1996 onwards to celebrate Nissan's participation in the 24-hours of Le Mans in 1995 which the car finished 10th against against super cars of that era like the Mclaren F1 GTRs.
    And he keeping the car so that his daughter could drive it. Wow
    I don't think i will let my future kids drive my high power GTR if they ever get their driving license.
    Thumbs up for another great video XD
    Cheers

    • @TokyoTuner
      @TokyoTuner  6 лет назад +10

      Lin Chester seriously bold . When I first saw it I couldn't believe my eyes that someone stanced a GT-R. After knowing him a bit more, he drove it on the tracks years before and just got tired off that and wanted something different and clean looking. His suspension is pretty stiff (that was at Hakone) and exhausted hands is a bit lower lol. It's super cool that his family is all about cars and gonna let his daughter drive it (a bit crazy in my mind but I'm sure under adult supervision haha)
      Thank you as always for watching!

    • @linchester8464

      Tokyo Tuner maybe i might give the front a bit of a camber for steering respond but yea i def weird to see a GTR with that look with both front and back wheels looking like that.
      I prob watched Best Motoring, Samurai Wheels and played too much Initial D and Maximum tune. So i recognize that stretch of road.
      If that ride is that harsh i wonder how his wife and daughter could take the ride in the car.
      My buddy's Golf Mk7 with the coilovers is spine breaking when i rode shotgun with him.

      He said he bought it 13 years ago, that means he prolly paid around $30k usd give or take, compared to todays market that still sells them for that price give or take on condition etc.

      @@TokyoTuner that's one thing I don't understand about American car culture. Cars that aren't meant to be stanced or it's taboo to do certain mods on cars. Living in Japan. These cars are everywhere. And you do to the car, literally whatever you want. Growing up in Japan and living in the car scene. If you remember the excess neon and and gadgets they put on car in Tokyo drift. Yes. This is literally the culture. You do whatever you want to the car and your respected for it. Respect In Japan works different. Especially in the car scene. I'm not sure if many outsiders know but we Japanese don't like "old things" if a car is older then 10 years they get rid of it and sell it for cheap. You can buy skyline in Japan for 1100000¥ which is around 10k USD. American cars are very expensive in japan. So if your part of the culture and keeps older cars say GTR and modify it. Your automatically respected. Many younger generation doesn't like old things. They want new. I hope that makes sense.

    I'm all for respecting different car builds. I'm not the biggest fan of static stance but I do like the aesthetic look. But when it comes to GT-Rs being stances I have mixed emotions about it since I'm a huge GTR fan and it's racing pedigree. The R33 I'm not that big a fan of, I like it but don't love it so I'd be quite fine with one being stances but mother of god this is an LM of all GTRs and as much as I want to like the look, and I genuinely do but man this guy is bold committing one of the greatest taboos in the car community, stancing an ultra rare GT-R. I respect him for his boldness but man my heart is breaking here. I mean it's an LM of all R33s 😥💔

      HEKTIC458 imo the camber is just a bit too much a little less would be okay but everything else on it is perfect

    No one stance a GT-R because of it's racing History because it was made to race and dominate the track.
    But this guy has committed a sin to the car world a sin that we can forgive because it actually looks ok it's not hideous like other stance cars I think the GT-R still has it's performance capabilities.
    Also that GT-R that's a original key right forgot what it's made out of but you know you are special when you have that kind of GT-R key.

    • @TokyoTuner
      @TokyoTuner  5 лет назад

      He also use to race his GT-R for years. Just got tired of it and decided to try something new and challenging ^^

    If you plant it in first or second gear, will it grip or will you light up all 4 tyres with all that camber and 550bhp? That's what I don't understand about "stance", it makes the car perform worse. If I'm wrong please feel free to let me know

    • @TokyoTuner
      @TokyoTuner  6 лет назад

      Matthew Snell I don't think your wrong about that at all to be honest. He used to race the car before the stance and that's why it has so much power. He got bored with it and decided to try something new

    • @matthewsnell2459
      @matthewsnell2459 6 лет назад +1

      Tokyo Tuner fair play to him, it does look nice, I've just never understood the stance thing. I like to keep mine as grippy as possible!

    Nice car but all that camber looks hideous in my personal opinion not to mention it's not good for the AWD system. Ps. it needs a GTR badge on the rear.
