- Happy New Years Everyone! I hope you all had a great one ^__^ Welcome to Tokyo Tuner 2018 Edition!
Thank you all to those who sent me emails, messages, texts, asking to buy stickers! I was blown away at how many people wanted to buy some and I can't say thank you enough m(-__-(m I have a lot of big things planned for 2018 and I'm going to do my very best to accomplish those goals!
One of those things is expanding outwards besides Japan. Don't worry! The main focus will always be Japan (I live here after all) , however I feel I would be doing everyone a disservice if I didn't take opportunities to dive into the minds of car enthusiasts all over the world. So, I'll be creating a new playlist that focuses solely on those adventures ^__^ First on the list is Cristian Tyrrell and his Mazda RX7 FC 10th Anniversy.
I met Cristian a year ago while vising family in Houston, Texas looking for cars to feature for Speedhunters. After spending the day with him, I realized that he had an amazing story and he and his FC has come a long way in there journey. I did my very best to tell his story in word form but I always feel like its better to hear it straight from the source when possible ^__^ So, without further delay, lets dive right in!

I respect that I respect the fact that you work at a grocery store and you put everything into it that further lets me know that I can do the same thing as you did.

Doing things we like is important to stay young and happy. No point saving all the money and putting into banks when you know you can take any of it with you when you leave this world. You always need something to look forward to after hard week of work.
I prefer the pop up headlights of FC but still a beast car !!

Those tail lights and the rear diffuser make one of the nicest looking rear ends I have ever seen on a car

Yeh, i love LED tail lights on japanese 80´s and 90´s cars. They look so futuristic but still like it was OEM.

Nice to see fellow Rotary fans in the US. None of those LS swapped RX7s thank god.
Guess everyones wants a 3 rotor or 4 rotor builds. But damn they are pricey and take ages to finish. I am looking at you Rob Dahm.
The good thing is that he sticks to the rotary after messing up the engine earns my respect.
Treat the rotary engine well and they last for 100,000 miles and in some cases even more. Before you need another engine rebuild.
Heres hoping Mazda will bring back the Rotary engine for the RX9
Thank you!! I wish I had the funds just to fly and make videos (not there... YET), I was there for my sisters first baby as a surprise visit and I brought my equipment with me this time and knocked out 2 films while I was there.
LOOOOOOL Yahhh, the Rotary craze isn't really that big here in Japan but I def see/ hear about it. And realllly hope Mazda stops playing games with us and lets us know whats up -___- same with Nissan...Toyota.. (insert Japanese OEM ) lol
Tokyo Tuner australia, new zealand and puerto rico are places where the rotary engines are still alive and well. Mostly powering their drag cars and a few drift cars.
I wonder if you ever saw the 4 rotor 240Z on the road in Japan. That is def one of my inspiration for a dream build. A 370Z shell but has a heart of a 4 rotor NA screaming up to 10000 rpm and has the R35 drivetrain.
Your respect lol. As a rotary mechanic for 9years I don't think you understand these engines are getting older and older by the day. 100k miles for a car from the 80s is the easiest thing to achieve, these cars live in the mechanic shop. Personally I'd rather throw in a rb20 engine in. As a mechanic point of view. It's one thing to be a fan. But the realism of these engines are becoming costly and not many people are willing to drop 10k + on a 30 year engine over and over again. The more rare these become the more costly they will be.
@@vizualmrs you do know that it is the rotary guys who are keeping you in biz. If all the rotary guys disappeared. All your pro work on rotaries goes out of the window. Sure the rotary engine isnt as reliable as your conventional piston engine. Even the RB engine you mention has it fair share of issue mainly oiling issues that aftermarket is able to solve it while Nissan does little to resolve it.
@@vizualmrs You're obviously not doing a good job lol. Yes they aren't reliable depending on the port or whatever you're building your car for. But my turbo2 original motor in the original car has started up and it works better than ever. I don't even premix my car and its a daily driver. Andi am putting a bone stock 93 motor in it with a single. Thanks to @dredtech_performance on Instagram

duane willis I know what you mean lol, i’ve gotten a lot of attention and love from this version of the car but I’ve always wanted to complete my vision.I’m determined to finish it although at the same time makes me a little bit on the fence but I’m the type of person to finish what they started maybe one day I can replicate it to another street car once this gets to crazy.

Beautiful 10AE my guy. I feel the exact same way with 80s sports car looks. The first time I ever saw an FC I fell in love at first sight. I loved it even more when I found out they have the unique rotary engines. So happy I finally picked up my first s5 T2 back in November. Looking forward to getting her looking perfect.

Tokyo Tuner It's too low and sounds like there's no depth to it, which is not good for voice interview in my opinion. Sounds like it's recorded through a low quality smartphone's microphone. It's the only thing that kept me from fully enjoying the video since I can't hear what he said in the video. :(

Overall excellent build, dont agree with the blacked out tailights but to each their own
StreetSpec in person they’re not as smoked as they look, it looks darker because the corner lens that’s normally Amber has been stripped and painted red to match the same as the center brake housing.

I would love too! It's a bit hard because they are worried about police watching the videos... I may or maynot have done something similar with drifting that could still be sitting in the vault for that very same reason :( One day tho!
Tokyo Tuner Noriyaro (another great channel from Japan) did two videos about the Bosozoku, one of them was released like two days ago. He just censored faces and license plates, don't think he's having any issues. There must be a way
That Regular Guy well the way I had shot the cars, everyone might have had no plates and they may or may not have had masks on so you couldn't tell who was who or what. The issue came when someone got caught for something months prior to our fiming and everyone freaked out. So it sits lol.. but I'll figure something out!

Beautiful car. The way i like them nice and clean. Congrats. Oh and add a little more boost she will amke you smile more. I believe 10-15lbs can be very reliavle with the right supporting mods. I run 10bls low boost on my fd and 15lbs on high and i have been on the same street ported engine for 2 years without a problem. The car is still very managable and fun at that boost level. It will rocket out of the exits of corners so be ready to catch it. Lol
