There’s a guy near me with 6 FCs on his lane, he’s finally letting me buy one off of him!
Nice! What year and model,
@@BalancePointMedia 87’ GXL
Excellent I hope you’re getting it for a good deal!
@@BalancePointMedia $500 and it cranks up
@@ItsOlee lol... thats a gift
In June of 2021 i picked up a 1986 gxl all original with 89k miles in immaculate condition for 5,500. Been slowly doing maintenance on it getting it road worthy. Love seeing fc content from y’all.
i picked up my 90 gxl 4 years ago for $1400 with 120,000 miles. dude was going to the military. i got lucky. perfect interior. it blew the coolant seals at 150,000. i rebuilt and large street ported an REW, went to single turbo. OMP delete. and man, fun car. alot of work, but def worth it
Theres a silver fc that me and my friend saw a few days ago just sitting in somebody's backyard. Looks like its in good condition except for a few missing hubcaps and flat tires although i hope the interior and engine are fine as well as any rust under the car. Im considering knocking at the owners door and asking how much they would sell it for.
Definitely do it! With any luck you can be one of the lucky ones to get a killer deal on it, way below market value.
Weird to ask, but do you live in Vancouver BC?
I found a car that fits your exact description, and it would help if you have any information on it. Thanks!
@@kaito2914 I do not! This was in California
Thanks, appreciate it!
Did you end up getting the car though?
Just got an 1988 fc. 86k miles, mint! Been having a blast driving it. Best part, got it for $3500. Paint and everything great.
Good pick up!
I’m about to buy one same year for the same price but it’s 96k miles and automatic. What tips would you give
I got my running FC Rx7 for $700
Dude had the battery backwards so I fixed that and it ran. Had it since 2017.
I just recently bought another FC Rx7 for $500, it's only a shell but i plan on making it a drift car since it was the cheapest chassis I found. . .
Love finding those good deals on stuff, us paying 2900 in the current market is so cheap. I have yet to find a dirt cheap car because of some easy fix though. Maybe one day :p
I got my fcfor 2700 5 years ago. Did a full strip to metal and repaint. I was super lucky i didnt have any rust except the very bottom of the fenders. Im currently reinstalling my full street port engine. Ran beautifully except i had a crack in the frint iron and would burn a tiny bit if coolant. The rest of the keg is original. I still talk to the 2nd owner i bought it off. It currently has 179k. I drove it last year 27k because i built it to drive and have fun. Not to win races or be a pavement princess.
this is what I aspire to do when I finally get one.
Though I suspect it'll be some time, since I want a Turbo, ideally turbo II, and they're not available below 12k here.
@otisjordan5613 did you ever find a turbo 2 yet? Mine back and running beautifully and gets re-registered next week.
On a series 4 the 5th and 6th port only work under load. Revving the engine won't activate them. Premixing is optimal because you get more even distribution and it's not dirty oil.
Gonna go look at a satin gold metallic FC tomorrow, it looks abandoned as there is grass growing all around it. I feel no one has picked it up because it's not a piston motor. But I'm not sure yet. Gonna go look at it and low-ball it if it really is abandoned. I don't live in Cali so I might get away with it here in Virginia haha. Coolest car ever. Good luck with your FC!
I hope you get it for super cheap!
Updates with that FC?
@@TheMrFlyBoy18 I went up to the guys house to see if he was selling it but he wasn't. Didn't realize but he had a good conditioned 2jz sitting next to the car.. he said that many people came up to him and offered but he declined them all. that fc was pretty clean. But sitting with grass growing around it always struck me.. he said he was gonna swap out the rotary but since then I moved away from that area
Just picked up an 88 vert for cheap. Clutch went out within 50 miles of driving but im excited to get working on the car. Thanks for the great informative video!
I found a black FC from 1988 a couple minutes away from my home. The mileage is about 12,345 so it’s not too bad, but I think the interior needs some work. It’s only 1,000 and it looks great.
That’s a steal today, pick it up for sure!
12,345 probably is a holder number and isn’t the actual mileage
@@es0x Car looks to be in decent shape, I could believe it until I see it
@@danieloftamriel when people put "12345" or "123456" as the mileage it usually isn't a real number...
@@es0x I cry
I have an 91 fc convertible it sat outside in texas for like 10 years it was my dads but now I'm going to fix it the only problem is I am struggling to find the trailing ignition coils with the ignitor
Crazy story: turning off the AC gives you all the benefits of an AC delete, and you can just turn the AC back on when you would rather have the cool air. Never understood AC deletes.
Is it worth getting a fc as a first project car? I’ve seen owners list it’s cons as it’s a old car. I’ve also heard that you would be doing more maintenance then driving the car itself.
I do have a daily and these past weeks I’ve been considering buying one from a owner that’s selling it for cheap in my area
So, it is absolutely worth it IMO. A lot of people complain about the engine, but they also don’t do the very few basic things that help keep the engine working properly. You need to make sure the factory OMP is working, and if not, you need to either replace it, or premix. Without that it will eat the motors apex seals. Since owning mine, the only things I’ve had to replace, related to the engine, was the alternator. Past that, it’s been extremely reliable.
Found a fc for 1500 been sitting since 01 I’m really considering it
That’s a serious steal in today’s market. I’d def. grab it.
get it i just got mine for $4800
My dream car is an FC3S
It is a super sick car.
looking at one for 4k on coilovers as my first car need to improve stick i learned in 5 mins and never killed the car but im not that comfortable with it yet
Not a bad deal at all!
I'm considering grabbing a well-taken care of (at least externally and on the interior) FC3 Turbo II. 100k miles, but hasn't had an engine rebuild yet (don't think it needs one yet, hoping so)
It's going for about 9k. I'm really hesitant to pull the trigger though, as it's been described as a very maintenance-heavy car. The wiser part of me's telling me to get something more practical... the fun part's saying go crazy!!
Did you pull the trigger?
@@Aus.S7in Nahh. It got sniped the week I was gonna get it :(
Always another catch though...
@@west3979 tell me about it. I’ve been hunting for so long
i just saw a scooby doo van like that in colorado
$2900....Born at the wrong time
Currently looking at a fc for 4500 omp is leaking a but will be deleting it either way so to me it’s a win win kinda😂👍
Just make sure you’re up on that premix! 👍
@@BalancePointMedia yea I know
What's the wheel and tire setup on this guy and were fenders rolled at all?
ruclips.net/video/xX2hX2lyB-I/видео.html
Here you go man! Specs are in here, and yes they are rolled. 🤙
Would u recommend getting a 1986 Fc that don’t run for $1500
These days even a shell at 1500 is pretty good, fc prices are pretty high, If you can get it working on the cheap it’s def. A good deal.
How to fix a rotary delete it and swapping something else
Everyone has their opinion on it, I figured if you’re buying one of the handful of cars in the world that have a rotary engine, why swap it.
this is crazy i saw a fc only 120k miles nothing wrong with it clean title no accidents nice interior for 2.3k
Where is it located?
What if i want put FC on small rims tho? almost everyone want to run big rims and brakes lol
The non turbo/sport model brakes are smaller. You’ll be good to go then. 🤙
@@BalancePointMedia i've look on vert (eudm spec probably) thanks for reply
Did that s5 front bumper fit up perfectly or did you had to use the s5 front fenders?
It’s still using s4 fenders, the bumper pretty much just lines up. However. Big however, the s4 and s5 side moldings are vastly different. The s5 moldings are larger. So if you want to do a proper s5 conversion (and I know I do cause I love the s5 stuff), you need the front/rear bumper, tails, moldings, and mirrors. The T2 also had a different side skirt, and ofc hood.
I want an fc, currently saving for it!!
You won’t regret it!
@Lucifer Morningstar fuck are you on about 💀
@Lucifer Morningstar dude what
@@itscrono7073 lmao he deleted it what'd he say?
There’s a Fc for sale for 10k and it has 70k miles is this a good first car to get started
For low miles it’s not bad, but make sure it runs right, 10k isn’t a small amount to drop on a car that might’ve been taken care of poorly.
@@BalancePointMedia thanks I’ll let you know how it goes soon
@@atomic975 how'd it go
@@erikflores1585 I’ve settled for another car because the cost of maintenance and since it’s old something is bound to break and it’ll need lots of care and money and financially it’s not smart for me especially since I need a daily
Quick question, I’m looking at an rx7 fc for 680€ however it’s not running , what’s your take ?
If it’s a complete car, it’s a good grab, with prices increasing like they are. An engine rebuild might suck, but it’s a lot better than trying to piece a car together.
@@BalancePointMedia appreciate it
I’m buy that for a 8k right now
Hi i was wondering are you guys in the San Diego area i want to know if Theres Any stores or some one that may have the back breaks I am working in my fc and I want my for drift
We don't know any off hand but if you're willing to make some oem 350z rear brake calipers work somehow we have a pair to sell lol
$2900? I paid $50 to a guy to haul off his series 5 Turbo II. Then to find it had an Mazda Reman engine with less than 2k miles on it. $50!!!!! I've had offers of over $15k and I still refuse to let it into a kids hands to turn it into a drift missle and wreck it!
Look for another car!
No u
Picking up a 1 owner FC With 5 lug and the sport suspension mode, had a 13b engine swapped in now at 25k miles. It doesn’t run but I suspect it’s fuses because it’s cranking really hard. It’s been garaged it’s whole life besides the last 2 years and has barely any rust. Getting it for $5000 which is a steal now a days
That's definitely a great price!
How’s it working out for ya now? Any problems since you’ve had it?
I bought a somewhat running '88 FC vert for $750 in 2019. It needed a transmission. 3 years later, I bought an '87 coupe FC for $400 and I'm pulling the engine out of the vert for it.
if it exists im buying it
would 6.5k for a running 1990 rx7 worth it or would i be getting robbed ?
What's the overall condition of the car?
I see an 88 convertible for 3500 rn I'm scooping it up tomorrow
Man what are the specs on those rpf1’s ? 🔥🔥🔥
We'll be doing a video on them soon! Gotta take wheels off to double check specs lol
I want to buy my cousins fc but it doesn’t pass smog 😭💔
Smog is definitely a difficult one for rx7’s, especially with how strict ca is. It’s seriously worth it though, just gotta find a way to get it passed :p
@@BalancePointMedia definitely man. Just trying to save up money because I just moved and gotta buy stuff. But ima keep talking to him and we’ll see.
Yeah man! Try and get it if you can!
bought my last two RX7s already in "new, stock" condition. They are out there, in CA the seller has to make sure it passes smog. My current one has easily passed smog every time(4). to date an oil change is the top expense.
Knock on wood... :)
Depending where you live you can get it registered as a vintage vehicle which means it doesn’t need to pass smog
markets are empty for this ones... wow...
Definitely getting harder to find!
I found a FC I’m thinking about building on my channel, red, granny owned for 1500$! Should I go?! I don’t have much info on it as its been sitting since I was practically in Middle school and im 25 now lol
Does it run? If so that might be a killer deal assuming there are no issues!
Very useful, thank you so much for this!
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it
Hmmm looks like a 944.
Agreed. Definitely both beautiful body styles
Wheel specs?
ruclips.net/video/xX2hX2lyB-I/видео.html
🤙🤙
Thank you.
Hey man. I’m 15 (almost 16) and I’m thinking about getting my first car but I have no idea if an old car like this would benefit me in my day to day life. Do you think I should just go for it?
Personally I would not unless you are very mechanically inclined and a fast learner. Or if the car is a project and not a daily driver. If you are willing to accept the challenge though, go for it!
