I’m new to Logic as I’ve been a Cubase user for many years. Having invested in Apple equipment of late I thought I would see what Logic has to offer. Great video! Thanks
This really helped me, I am doing vocals for the first time and I wanted to have a bigger sound. I did more than one vocal track but because they never lined up I had to delete all tracks but one. Now I see if I do it like this I can get that wide sound and tight.

Nice one man this is great. Just a quick question on the last part about setting up the effect channel (the one you set up under the main vocal with the delay). Can you then set up a volume automation so you can choose when and where the delay effect comes through more prominently? or is there a better way of doing this? Thanks in advance A

Hello loved this video! I have a question ....if you are a singer and you not trained conventionally but you have written a song and recorded it into to your DAW and now want to make a song arrangement around it but are not really sure what key you are singing in how would I know what key to make the track in around it and what key to put for the auto-tune in? Any tips for that because for some reason when I write a song and try to make an arrangement around it it just seems so difficult and daunting vs just making a song over a beat I already made. Any tips for knowing what key ?!!
FYI: No longer presets to 100% wet. A dedicated bus in latest Logic Pro X presets it to 30% wet/0% dry. Select from default say a 1/8 Note Triplet sets wet to 50%.
Make the copied tracks stereo and insert a dual mono version of pitch shifter then put left at +3 right at -3 on first copied track, then left-6 and +6 right on second copied track for a thicker sound. Mix to taste.
Sorry I’m a bit confused about the bussing part.... did you group ALL the tracks into one wet delay bus???? The final sound is really good, and the lead vocal still sounds really clear... if you grouped all tracks together into one bus, with all the vocal stackings... shouldn’t they sound super muddy? That’s what happened to me .....
Question please. on the main vocal track, did you have any effects on them before you copied ? also i noticed that you have all tracks in stereo but are you using any mono on the 2 copied tracks/ would also like to know how you get rid of the phazer effect on the vocals.
The tutorial was good.. Please give a tutorial on the voc mix in the chorus part of Chris Cornell's Vocals in the song "Like a Stone". Is that the backing vocals only or some effects are given at the back of the vocals...?

Hey, amazing results sounds great! But I often have the issue that my projects end up to loud, doesn't this make mixing really annoying? Or doesn't it increase the volume that much?
The 'Main Vocal' was left in the Middle and in Mono. We then added the sides for a wide stereo effect. Thanks for tuning in! Say you use this technique on the chorus, how would you keep the verse from sounding too small afterwards? Would you use this on the verse also? (Rap music)
I was just thinking that the second before I read your comment. Shame they didn't bother to reply... Kind! One year later, how did you decide how to sort this problem?
Thanks for replying! It's a good suggestion, but sometimes you don't want that doubled vocal sound, and then one is left with the same problem of diminishing dynamics after the first chorus. But I have to admit, this is all in my head as I actually don't seem to have that problem much. It was more hypothetical. I think I don't have that problem because I compress too severely in mastering. You win some, you lose some. Thanks again though. :)
Yes and Yes! Works fine with us. We think a lot of the problems have been ironed out now and all is stable! We hope you experience the same! Stay Awesome! HPTV

The vocal was Mono. Typical most vocals are recorded in Mono due to just one microphone recording them. There are plugins out there that can offset the Mono information to make it sound like stereo. But ultimately it is a Mono signal. That's why you need to do some processing like in this video to get that wide stereo sound. They are mono, then panned and processed to make them sound Stereo. Hope that helps? Thanks Rory @ Hyper Production
Hi There, If you look closely at the waveforms they are identical. Bit of a visual confusion there and it's a good point you've made. It's basically showing you the information of both the Left and the Right channel. So there if it's mono, they will be identical. However the backing is Stereo, as you can see the difference in the waveform of the L&R channels. Hope that helps? Thanks, Rory @ Hyper Production
Is there another way to make it sound less like a pop song? Well, less robotic i mean, im making Rap and the chorus sounding like Bender from Futurama isnt exactly pleasing to the ears. Thanks
T0NICSS: double-tracking is the way to go. Takes more work upfront, but sounds a huge amount better. Basically you record yourself singing the same part multiple times, and then layer the different takes over eachother, hard panning two (or more) of them. You get the same sort of effect, but more "organic" sounding, seen as you aren't pitch shifting them artificially. Now this takes some effort seen as you have to be able to sing your parts practically identically multiple times, but hey it's good practice anyway ;)
Hi, is it possible to hire you for a one on one through Skype to help me record a beautiful song written by Irish guy Phil Coulter for Elvis titles “My Boy” I have logic etc setup but would like to record it and watch you edit the vocal with plugins

Sounds so chorusy to me. Logic built-in pitch algorithm so bad... They have upgrated it but its still bad. It was very bad and now its only bad!!! )))) Thanks for the tip though

How are there two strands of recorded audio in one track? Help please!!
But how to fix phase cancelation???
With the pitch shift, there shouldn't be phase cancelation I don't think. Also, you can invert phase using the gain plugin if that is a problem.
holy shit your voice sounds so clear! what microphone do you use?
Hey! It's just a cheaper-end SE Electronics SE200a!
Thanks
Rory
Considering some microphones can go into the region of $50,000 then it is rather cheap!
Doesn’t this create phase issues?
ANT GOD just slap on a compressor and stereo spread n peak stuff, dont hard knee it, dont overdo the compression
Does it matter if the original signal is recorded in stereo? or will this work just the same with a Mono track?
You sound like Matty Haley from The 1975
I’m sitting here like Matty is giving me a tutorial
Say you use this technique on the chorus, how would you keep the verse from sounding too small afterwards? Would you use this on the verse also? (Rap music)

Just push them around until they jive.
Check the box applying "Latency Compensation."
Hey do you mix for people?
Didn’t you effectively double the volume of the vocal tracks by adding left+right copies? I wonder if some kind of correction is needed
Where do you get your vocals from?!
you're from Birmingham UK aren't you?
haha I'm afraid not. I'm from a few hours away from there! Do I sound like a Brummy? XD
a posh one yeah, I am a brummie but there is a definite 'lilt' to your vowels. Nothing wrong with that of course! :)
thats some comb filtering😂
Did you record the main vocal in a stereo track?

Cool
if i'm not mistaking the main vocals sounds like they're phasing each other
Nah, vocals sound much better in mono, especially in 5.1 then the vocals get directed to the center channel.
❤️
Your mic is so close that i could even hear your stomach noises
AJAY YOLO correct 😆
there a simpler way to do this using busses
You sound like Zayn Malik when you talk
Dub? Compression? Side-chaining of the delay? Automation? Come on...
Dont u know anything about aux sends? why did u create new tracks 4 every additional voice? it looks funny
