Brother, speaking as technician of many many years under my belt and now retired, I'm gonna warn you guys, a differential is a very touchy component...it's either perfect or it's gonna start wearing out, there's no such thing as "wearing in", you either have the "hash pattern" perfect or she'll start the self-destruction process immediately, you may not hear it now, but put a few miles on her and like a terrible wife, she'll start whining sooner than you think...there aren't many people that can do diffs...doing a diff and getting it right on with the correct "crush", it's an art form to say the least...so good luck to ya, but that "almost on center" hash marks comment I heard from you in the video....won't cut it...🤷♂️
Oh yeah youre totally correct. But we have to start somewhere to learn the process. There arent many people, but maybe we can end up being the few out there to keep the art form going. We can only trust the process 🙏
Wont know til you try brother. Thanks for the knowledge. Learning a lot everyday! But i love it!
Next time you need a specialty tool, check the auto parts stores in your area, they rent out tools.
We checked, couldn't find one 😔 so far jeep is doing well though
why didn't you put a locker in it??
We thought about it. We actually really want Dana 44s, but this was a good learning experience to re gear the diff.
But now you can't use 4wd since you didnt regear the front
Yea we ended up disconnecting the shift link. Currently only driving city miles 4wd not needed.
