It's in really good shape for its age.

Hey Katy and Kevin! I haven't watched this video yet. I'm too busy, as we just got back from the midwest after our camper burned up a bearing. We also have a 7.3 super duty (2001) and had a starter failure. I'm wondering what other parts I should replace to avoid that happening again when we have to drive back to Iowa to pick up our camper? It needed an axle, and it's going to take 3 weeks. The total trip there and back is about 3K miles! So, I want our 7.3 to make it.

Oh man thats a tough one always hard to catch ahead of time. All we can think of are the basics for that long of a trip, oil change, fuel filter the usual. Good luck and have a safe drive!

@@wKKnDwarriors Yeah, I know. Don't fix what's not broken. I usually do the fuel filter, an oil change, and air filter before every season. And I USUALLY do the wheel bearings on the trailer, but didn't this year.. I paid dearly for it. We could have lost a wheel, or even burned up the trailer if it caught fire. I've got to change my routine. When we stop for gas, or to pee, I need to cheek the temperature of the each axle! I do that with the boat trailer, but not the camper.
I just wondered about the water pump on the 7.3? Has yours failed yet? I have 168K miles on my 7.3, and it's 2001. How old do you let your tires get before you replace them? I've got 2 tires that are 7 years old. Here in Arizona, everything dries out well before it's time. They seem good to me, but I'm going to replace them, and keep one for the spare.. Better safe than sorry for a trip this long, and during these extremely hot days...

Man glad you guys got out of it safely. Our water pump did not fail but we did replace it a while back. Currently our tires are about 3-4 years old and seem to be holding up pretty well, but we do not get the heat like AZ so that helps a lot.
