      Irene Luna i dislike how fans think they own artists, the artists did not force them to buy the records or go to their concerts, the fans just simply wanted to, artist are humans and they are free to do whatever they please, what? because you spent 100 dollars worth of merch you think you put them where they are? one day try not to put them where they are and they will probably still be there. "fan".

      @@hasselmania And I dislike people like you who thinks that musicians are where they are without their fans! Without the fans, musicians would not be able to make any money from playing music and they would have to get another job, to pay their bills and food! Your comment is very ignorant!

    Maybe, but Jackson had already designed it for him but he was testing it on tour so he can give feedback to Jackson on how they can improve it, the only reason it was a big deal is because that was the only version of the guitar at the time before they started production, they sell them on a production line now.

    Now that you mention it, I'd love to here Adrian having a go at "Couldn't Stand The Weather". Judging from the mini humbucker in the neck position, it was originally a Les Paul Deluxe. £235 sounds crazy, but in the early 80s, a regular goldtop could be bought for £150. Guitars were really "unfashionable" at that time.

    Yeah just the bridge side was routed for a PAF size humbucker. Just for looks I'd rout the neck position as well, and then drop in one zebra and one double-cream (exposed coils.)
    What a player Adrian, he doesn't even care what year this LP is, and he could have ANY Vintage Gibson he wanted! (Like a converted '55 or '56.)

  • @LPcustom76

    a "paf" (which stands for Patent Applied For) pickup was gibsons attempt at a noise (hum) canceling pickup which plagued all single coil pickups. the paf was the original humbucker (as it is more widely known today). the dimarzio super distortion pickup is nothing more that a humbucker with different magnets and more windings. it is much more active or "hotter" than an original paf. original gibson paf's and gibson "t-top" humbuckers are HIGHLY sought after due to their incredibly rich tone.

    • @j_freed
      @j_freed 7 лет назад +1

      For sure. Although I wouldn't spend 5k on a set of PAFs, there are some darn nice repro's for a few hundred a set.
      Seymour Duncan Seth Lover and Antiquity are a nice PAF-like repro humbucker.
      In the Seventies people were throwing away good PAFs to put in the more powerful Dimarzio SD's, so sometimes PAFs are found in parts bins or on old junk guitars they were thrown onto to 'recycle' them. Worth double-checking if you think you recognize them.
      The early-Gibson mania is really quite something, but it has driven the playable vintage gear right out of the market, you would never gig super-valuable collector gear. Even a '68 Goldtop with a solid back and one-piece mahogany neck, it's too valuable to play in a club (I saw a super cool one for about 6k 9years ago, I knew it was rare and would only go up in value and I would just worry about it.)
