I had a baby holland lop but she died a month ago for no reason at all :( she was so smart too, she knew how to high five, spin, follow, come to her name, stand, walk etc. She was only 5 months old. I’ve never had such trauma... You would never expect that having rabbits die would affect you as much as it does. It actually affected me more then when my cat died. Rabbits are like the delicate more adorable versions of dogs and cats. They are very much blessings and a gift to the world when you get them. My first rabbit I had for 7 years, and it was only the very last years of her life we really started bonding a ton, as I had matured a bit more and learned to understand rabbits so much. She definitely helped me throughout her entire life. I realized o had trichotillomania disorder in grade three and she was the only thing that made me stop my impulses from stress. Whenever I felt down she was there. Waking up to her dead body on the ground with fur all over hit me hard. I couldn’t eat, my disorder came back with tremendous force, depression pulled me down. I didn’t think anything could get worse. When my hockey team got me a second rabbit, I felt as soon as we met that i was going to love her. Immediately she felt like a stranger to me, but it did not take long at all for her to win me over! She was so precious, everything about her. Soon my issues started getting better. I was so paranoid that every day I would check for signs, make sure she was ok, wash my hands before entering, all that stuff. When she died it was a blur of all the emotions rushing back. I still remember running up to her and crating her delicate body one last time hoping for a miracle but I expected the worse and it was true. She was gone. I am very introverted so my real best friends in which I can connect with the most are animals. It was really me losing a best friend more then a pet. I lost one of the only things that made me happy. Now all I can think is more bad will happen. I am constantly crying every time I think about it. Sometimes I’ll start telling myself awful things like something worse will happen. I went on a gorgeous cruise and I couldn’t even be thankful for that. I just wanted to be back home because I was in constant fear that something bad would happen. I wanted to be home the entire week. I kept thinking about everything and the memories made me break down. Before my plane ride back home from my trip I had two panic attacks. My mom couldn’t leave the room. I am going to see a therapist because I think adding anxiety and paranoia to my list of problems is enough to make me do bad things to myself. I feel so lost. I don’t know what to do or why or how just two bunnies lead me down this confusing and traumatic path of all bad things. It makes it even harder because I feel like nobody will understand a girl who is this affected my pets. They will think I’m over reacting or want attention. It’s like there is nobody and nothing left to do. My mom has offered that in a year I can choose between cat dog or bunny and I would always choose bunny but at the same time it’s the last thing I would want. It’s just so confusing to me.
One of my baby bunnies died, I threw it to the fish pond. Same with other bunnies that died except the bigger rabbits which were buried near plants for fertilizers... Hehe...
I was 46 when my Chocolate Rex "Cadbury" died from heat stroke. Christmas day 2009. (Australia) I'd had him 4 years and he was my only companion after a 20 year marriage ended and he went everywhere with me. Sailing, to the kids football, travelling, camping, fishing, crabbing. He also ran free without fences or cages as all my rabbits do. I knew he loved me as I did him because he had the option to go anytime. The day I lost him was luckily after a very late night together and it was the best quality time we probably ever had. However the next day when I found him passed away I was devastated like I have never been before. I cried for days after. I shut down my business and stayed inside for days, couldn't go out or answer the phone. It took me weeks to stop mourning and if I talk about him for long the tears will soon come. It is yet too early to even look at all the pictures and videos I have of him. So many adventures together. I can confirm the pain of loss is extraordinary if you ever get really close to one. There is no ill feelings, no bad memories and no old grudges. They never let you down or disappoint. They are just pure, gentle and affectionate little souls who in every way except appearance are like pixies but they are cuter than pixies could ever be. Now I have the rabbit I got at 5 weeks a few months after I lost Caddie. She's in her tenth year and has become closer to me than ever anybody in my life has been. I am remarried but my rabbit is my number 1 girl and the finest female I ever knew. I've been married 3 times and to 3 good women. None of them or my children or friends or anyone ever was more devoted to me, more beloved by me or more happy just to be with me and to do whatever she does within sight or sound of me at least. I have no idea how I will cope with her loss. I know the day has to come but hope it is at last 8 or 9 years hence. It is hard, if a gnarly old ratbag like me can hurt so deep and still feel the loss long after I get over losing a women I married for love or family, friends and parents even dying then it is pretty serious I reckon. God bless you and all rabbits. If there is a heaven then the very definition means we will find each other again.
I am sorry for your loss. I have a bunny as well an I a paranoid and afraid of losing her. I have been diagnosed with severe depression a few years back it was so bad that I almost took my own life. My bunny knew something was up and she would not leave me alone, she would go into panic mode if I did not open the door or was not in her view. She saved me and she is one of the most precious treasures in my life. I understand your paranoia and fears I have them too and sometimes it's so bad that I cry myself to sleep. Bunnies are truly a gift from god and the epitome for goodness and love. I am very sensitive when it comes to bunnies to the point where I cry if something happens to a cartoon bunny I cry my eyes out. I hope that you will find your way and always remember your bunny is always with you. I wish you all the best of luck on your tough journey.
@@GrassPossum I am sorry for your loss. I am wondering what happened that your bunny died of heat stroke? I understand that Australia is very hot country but I thought that thede is AC to keep people and domestic animals cool.
This was a fabulous video! (No, I definitely didn't know all of the facts lol!) For some reason I found your voice for saying "Number _" to be super funny! 😂 It's almost like you sounded partly annoyed and it just cracked me up! You filmed this and put this together in a very fun and interesting way! 😀
Extended fact about the sleeping with eyes “open”: they actually have a clear third eyelid that they close when they sleep sometimes. we just think it looks like they’re sleeping with their eyes open
Wow!! That's cool. Most I knew, but I did not know that they sleep with their eyes open. I always just assumed my bunny never slept while I was in her presence. Lol. Thank you
Rabbits are like the perfect pet for me! I have Emetophobia which is where I get these panic attacks when someone throws up. It's really bad but at least I don't have it as bad as some people, because for me it's only when other people throw up. The fact that it is not possible for a rabbit to throw up is great to me.
You’re telling me my rabbit sleeps with his eyes open?! I just thought every time I walked up to him when he’s laying down that his hearing is that good he immediately wakes up.
Hey! I'm sorry, my english is not that good, but I'm a bit worried about my two rabbits. They don't eat much hay out of the hay racks inside their cage, they will only eat it, if I'd just put it it on the floor. What should I do? :/
Same. I keep it on the ground for them and only one of them ever even goes near it. The other will not eat it at all even if I pretend it's a treat or try giving it in different forms
I literally laughed out loud when you flashed the picture of pikachu 😂....great channel! I’m very interested in rabbits and may get one as a pet. Your channel has been extremely helpful! Thanks 🙂
Super awesome video! I don't know much about rabbits so this was very interesting. I certainly didn't know them all. I love your "number _" voices haha! They made me laugh!
I just adopted a rabbit named Riley and he will claw and nip at my leg. And I don't know if that is normal or if I should be concerned with this. But then other times he is an angel. He flops and binkies and popcorns all other over the place.
fun fact, cutting your rabbits nails on a regular basis causes the quick to shrink back allowing you to remove more nail. This will allow the rabbit to stand normally (not resting on their hocks) therefore making it less likely that they'll suffer from sore hocks :)
"Rabbits can be expensive" OH boy do I know that. My 2 rabbits cost me around $150 a month, which includes hay, toys, fresh veggies and fruits, litter, and grooming care😂😅
I've bought two rabbits, a male and a female for just Indian ₹ 500/- . US dollar is around 6.90 dollars. They're pretty cute, and love to play most of the time. I've named them Tom and Jerry.

Poor little guys were in the woods for a month, they almost didn't survive, but thankfully a nice rabbit breeder was able to get two of them and take them to a shelter, the other one a nice lady's relative picked up the last one near Goldsburrro, and now we've got him. He's very sweet.
My old rabbit would splay out in his huge cage and sleep with his eyes closed. But when anyone got her he'd fly up and spray pee everywhere. And when my rabbit had a second litter a baby got out and when I picked him up he went and made noises like a car alarm blaring loud. I carefully put him in his nesting box with his big oversized lop mama.
Loved it! Now that you mention that teeth never stop growing, can you make a video of what toys (either bought or homemade)/food I can give my rabbit to help him with that? Or is hay enough?

Hi Abby! Can you make a video on how to manage owning a bunny as well as having to go to school? I will have to leave around 8 every day get home at 5 bcause I will have cross country... Is it a bad idea then to get one?
When she said rabbits can be expensive, i was like "Tell me about it". *Gazes at my bunny Cinnamon casually eating hay -_-
I got my rabbit for free lel
My rabbit was 50$

Mine was 60$ and I spent a total of 85$ a year for her budgeting

Extended fact about the sleeping with eyes “open”: they actually have a clear third eyelid that they close when they sleep sometimes. we just think it looks like they’re sleeping with their eyes open
I love how you pronounced the numbers! This was very entertaining, keep up the good work!!
This must be why I never see my rabbit sleep is bc she sleeping with her eyes open
Yep its a defensive mechanism for rabbits in the wild because most animals wouldnt attack a rabbit that is awake because they are very speedy
"15 FUN facts about rabbits"
*says the number of the facts with utmost exhaustion*
Wow!! That's cool. Most I knew, but I did not know that they sleep with their eyes open. I always just assumed my bunny never slept while I was in her presence. Lol. Thank you
My bun sleeps on his back with his paws all over the place and his eyes almost closed all rolled back in his head it’s hilarious and adorable
I love facts about rabbits! Especially yours!

hay racks r not good they should have food bowl ith all their food in it

This video is really helpful
Here's a fact few people including rabbit owners know. Rabbits can live up to more than 19 years old. The Guiness Book Of Records has the oldest as 19 and 2 months but I have known of a few who were older and one who was 19 and 4 months before being put down after losing use of his back legs. Like many older buns he'd been blind by then for a few years but still got around. I have 3 rabbits now. Ramzy is in her 10th year and healthy and active. Rosco who is a smaller breed and a rescue who has had a hard life is 13 and also blind. He is active enough though and all 3 are completely free ranging in my home and business where they don't have fences at all. Ramzy sleeps in my bed, is by my side most of the day, rides with me on the bike to shops, sails and kayaks. She is big, strong and a bit fat from spoiling but healthy and should live another 7 to 9 years. The reason for the low average is the fact so many things want to chase and kill them and eat them. That and disease, not to mention poor care lowers the average to the commonly believed 8-9 years.
This was a very awesome video! Helpful and interesting. By the way, I love the little image of the rabbits on the end screen! May I ask who made it for you?
So cute I’m getting a mini lop in 6 days

Rabbit: I am clean, *Eats shit.*
What breed/mix is your rabbit with one ear up and one ear kind of lopped? I'm looking to adopt and there is a rabbit at my nearby shelter that has ears like that, but looks and is sized like a large New Zealand rabbit.
that was actually helpful
Thanks for this vid now I can convince my mom for a rabbit
Rabbits actually scream when in pain, it’s terrifying
My rabbit snorts at me.
My rabbit does sleep with his eyes open... He has red eyes which I really ADORE❤❤
There's a certain kinds kind of cleaning methods, I call it, 'The cute clean' cuz it's freakin adorable
This is very good
Wow, I never knew, thx for telling meh.
My rabbit has cost way more than my cat & dog. Lol. Love your videos of your furr babies. We're New here even though binky is nearly 2 now.

Hi for the past three and a half months I have been trying to litter train my spayed/ neutered rabbits . I have trued everything including putting litter boxes in every corner , scooping up there poop and putting it in the litter box , soaking up the urine and putting the paper towel in their litter box and disinfecting that area but no matter how hard I try they both poop and wee everywhere 😩 Any advice ?

I use those same litter boxes :) 😊

Have you ever been to Sebago? I love the beach there and the store Four Seasons. Ps. It is in Maine
