    Yes, both ‘barking up the same tree’! Thanks to both of these remarkable practitioners, I am currently on Dr Bredesen’s Precode at age 50. It is highly probable they have saved my life, or at least my healthy life! Keep changing the world gentlemen, we’re right behind you!!

    Absolutely fascinating conversation! Inexplicable it's gotten so few views and just 27 comments in 6 months.

    Grat you publish these talks, keep on! In all the crappy food adverts and bought nutrition expert advises it's good to hear real science. Together with Dr. Jason Fung you give really helpful information. Thanks

    "36 Holes In The Roof". Front row seat! Fascinating.Thank you. At a college they would stretch this kind of discussion out into a semester. Excellent!

    Some papers I looked at years back gave evidence of oral microbiome organisms found in brain tumors, really got me thinking about how the metal fillings I had were affecting my oral microbiome (through things like affecting PH and such)

    Dr Lustig, I’ve followed your research for several years now and have watched your position evolve from “this is what the food is doing to you” to “this is what THEY are doing to your food.” You’ve compared the chronic toxic effects of sugar with alcohol and stated that sugar is not regulated the same because it does not share an acute toxic effect as alcohol does. But what about the argument for the acutely toxic effects of sugar with DKA or the cognitive changes seen with acute hyperglycemia? Could this play a role in changes within the food industry?

    How is it" crazy, and simultaneously obvious?" Because it's about the business model, and the $, and until that changes the cognitive dissonance and inaction will continue.
    Thanks, this was great.

    GREAT INTERVIEW, THANK YOU ! I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS : PROFF. LUSTIG SAID THAT THE FIBER (FROM THE FOOD) CREATES A BARRIER INHIBITING THE SUGARS FROM BEING ABSORBED AT THE DUODENUM, THEREFORE NOT ARRIVING IN THE LIVER VIA THE PORTAL VEIN. SO WHERE DOES THE SUGAR GET ABSORBED? DOESN'T ALL THE BLOOD FROM THE INTESTINES GO TO THE LIVER VIA THE PORTAL VEIN? IF NOT WHERE DOES THE ABSORBED SUGAR GO? VIA WHICH BLOOD VESSELS?

      My understanding is that the bacteria in the microbiome feed both onsugar and fiber . Also I don't think any sugar is absorbed through the walls of the colon.

    Fructose is not the only poison in processed food. The high level of Omega 6 PUFA oils in processed food may be a much larger cause of insulin resistance than excess fructose. The dose makes the poison.

    And wonder if Lyme disease factors in like the Mico toxins

    • @patriciao5239
      @patriciao5239 2 года назад

      Yes. Dr. Bredesen mentioned Borrelia as among the bacteria that have actually been found in the brain! That would help explain stage 3 Lyme disease (notable for neuro effects). It was around the middle of the interview I think.

      Boiled eggs ,wild caught fish every 4th day, pork chops , unsweetened almond milk, 30g walnuts , chia/sesami seeds, flax seed, and any veges steamed cooked to avoid refined oil when frying. Ps avoid cereal/ soda/fruit juice to minimise sugar.Also dont eat too much fruit and dont have fruit smoothies because they ruin the fibre in the fruit. Eat lots of fibre from leafy-greens /brocolli/cauliflower and help gut microbiome , ( crucially important) .Avocado is great for nutrients .

    Fasting can lead to autophagy
    Autophagy is not healthy ?
    So is fasting unhealthy?

    • @patriciao5239
      @patriciao5239 2 года назад

      Autophagy is a normal and necessary process in the cells. Intermittent fasting triggers or boosts auophagy which apparently happens at a lesser rate or with lower effectiveness in Alzheimer's, other neuro conditions, and other non-neuro conditions.
