I am still rocking my Samsung T7 Touch silver. I like how Samsung integrated a fingerprint reader for maximum security. This is the best SSD I ever had.
I had the T7 SSD 2TB in a unopened box. I sold it yesterday. A friend of mine told me there is another Samsung SSD the T9. This week I will buy it online in my country. The Netherlands, Europe. T9 SSD 2TB Price €189 Euro's. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for posting the 7.05GB write speed to the T9. I got 8.8 seconds so about 801 mbs Write to T9. I received my 4TB T9 Friday and got about 800-830 Write and Read using iPhone 15 Pro Max and about 900-1000 Write and Read using various Mac Pros and MacBook Pros running Blackmagic Disk Speed Test. With the Macs, I'm noticing about 25 to 33% faster W/R with the T9 over the old T7. T9 appears to run cooler, but the T7 were never too hot. The T9 is heavier, so I wonder if the near 2x in pricing is worth the extras.
Nice Good Info 👍🏻 But is there another External SSD with higher speeds ? Time 5:40 Whats the SSD Speed on S23 Ultra/Fold5 & iPhone 15 pro max ? Is it same as T9 or higher/lower ? Is it compatible with USB 4.0 ?
I just purchased the Samsung T9 SSD 2 TB, tried to connect it to an iPhone 13 Pro Max on the latest iOS 18 via a dongle, it won’t show up in the files app (also when connected to 20W power adapter to the dongle). It’s formatted out of the box to ExFAT and the software is updated. Anybody knows how to get it to connect to iPhone 13 Pro Max?
@ It’s an SSD, it doesn’t have anything to do with Android or iOS. I managed to connect it to iPhone 13 Pro Max and even iPhone 7 Plus using a USB hub. Newer iPhones with USB C can connect directly to the SSD. So don’t make fool out of yourself in the comments.
@@Dr.SHERIFF Don't worry eventually Apple will create their own and you won't need to use a USB hub. It's only a matter of time, I mean they finally got type c on the iPhone 15 following in Androids footsteps considering theyve been using type c for a decade now.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the iPhone's USB-C port does not support USB 3.2 gen 2x2, only USB 3.2 gen 2. So, buying the T9 isn't going to actually be any faster than the T7, but would cost a bit more. The T7 should be fast enough though, since ProRes typically only needs 400 MB/s, but as low as 220 MB/s is enough in ideal conditions. The T7's back is also smooth enough to add a magsafe magnet.
You are absolutely right. USB 3.2 gen 2x2 not supported by iPhone neither by Mac - so you wont be able to transfer anything at 2Gb/second so no reason buying expensive T9 instead of T7 which is completely sufficient
Hello, I set up password for T9 Samsung SSD and unlocking the disk works great on Macbook but when I connect the disk to iPad Pro it shows “read only disk” and show no files on the disk that were already written on it. This is because password is set up and I don’t know how to unlock T9 on iPad. There is no software from Samsung for iPad like PSSD to unlock the T9 disk on iPad. Can you help, please?
Why is it that when i turn on the computer the T9 does not fire up, I have to unplug it, then plug it back in then it shows up? My T7 works fine every single time.
Did you get it to work, i am going to buy one of these ssd’s for my iPhone but im not sure which i should get. I want to be able to export from gallery to the ssd, and back if needed.
Hi to all! Since this is being connected to the iPhone, does this drive need to be formatted any differently? Or will it recognized back n forth from apple to PC when transferring data files. First iPhone with the 15 Pro Max and trying to get up to speed. Thank you

Can you save videos from Photo app to the SSD, but not from Files app? I tried to send some videos from Photos app, but the Save button is not clickable. I was using different brand of SSD. I am worried that the Samsung T9 cannot be transferred from Photo app.
I was reading a few articles about most computer that are 2 years old can only export up 1,200 MBs, but new computers M2, M3 can transfer faster. The iPhone 15s can transfer than most computers.

Can u use external mic and external ssd
Your on the mac eco system right? So you will not get 2000mb transferspeed from a SSD running on USB-C as you are restricted to 10gbit
Can you transfer/copy pictures also?

Hi community will the T9 work with iphone 13 with the help of camera kit adapter?
You’re only going to get about 1GBps out of the iPhone. Can only do 1Gbps down to the SSD at best not counting overhead. Still very nice.

do u mean 1000MBps?

Comparing 800MB/s of the iPhone to 220MB/s of Samasung S23 Ultra, that's a huge difference.
