  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is no longer a mystery. Research is revealing exactly what causes it, and exactly what you can do to reverse it. There is no mystery, the suffering you experience is very real, and is cause by what you eat.
Foods and products that elevate your glucose, and keep your insulin level chronically high, cause both the fat-gain and the inflammation that keeps PCOS raging in your body. In this video, I will tell you about the latest research, and what you can do to improve your PCOS symptoms immediately.

This really works. My daughter was told there would never be a baby by multiple doctors. She started seeing a new doctor because her BP was getting high and he put her on keto for that and he warned her ( because she was 39) that she needed to be careful because keto reverses PCOS and she laughed at him . 2 months later she was pregnant at 39 for the first time and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, 2 years later she had a beautiful baby girl. Both normal and healthy!!! KETO WORKS FOR PCOS!!!

Hirsutism is gradually starting to improve. I have lost 40 lbs and several clothing sizes so far. In addition, I have been able to stop 8 medications for GERD, allergic rhinitis, IBS, chronic pain, and insomnia. The mental clarity and mood stability are great - no more brain fog! Karen H Hello, please educate yourself by watching RUclips videos by Sally K. Norton and others about oxalates and how we can heal ourselves from it. Also carnivore, especially grass fed, bone broth, collagen, B vitamins etc. take notes and it’s important not to cheat when we’re so unhealthy because it slows down the healing process. This is a learning process and healing can take a long time. Also, we have to accept the fact that we cannot expect miracles because our Heavenly Father has the best miracle to come when his Son removes all human kingdoms with his own which will restore humans to perfection and we will never be sick ever again! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 21 years old, it was so bad I had a cyst so large that it had to be surgically removed. The depression, weight gain and other symptoms felt overwhelming. Doctors said it was a benign condition but for something so “benign” it seem to affect every aspect of my life. I was told lots of women have it, here’s a prescription. After years of feeling hopeless, I started with low carb diet and worked my way to keto. I lost 50 pds. My cholesterol dropped 60 points, my hemoglobin A1c dropped to 5.2 and I felt amazing. My periods returned and I finally had energy! Start now because the only thing you will regret is not starting sooner!

Found Dr. Berry through researching PCOS. My doctor wanted to put me on MetFormin which led me to do my research. I have been following Dr. Berry Keto since Thanksgiving of 2019 and virtually ALL of my PCOS symptoms that have haunted me since puberty are GONE. Periods like clockwork, not more chronic UTI’s, and ACNE that I’ve been fighting for the last TWO DECADES is completely GONE. Dr. Berry’s videos were a God send and I am so grateful. I finally have an explanation for what’s ACTUALLY wrong with me instead of an endless list of medical solutions that mask each individual symptom to a degree with no real relief or real answers to what is going wrong with my relatively young body. This knowledge is truly power and I cannot express my gratitude enough for Dr. Berry, his family, and his message.

Back in 2016 I was sick of being over weight and unhealthy. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2000. Through the years I gained weight, had irregular menstrual cycles, body hairs, bad acne and acne scarring. My gyno prescribed provera to force myself to get my cycle every month since I didn’t want to go on birth control. So I finally decided to go to a doctor who specialized in nutrition. He put me on basically a super strict keto diet. The first two months I wasn’t allowed to have any carbs. If a label had a carb, it would be less than 1 gram of carbs. It was literally dark leafy greens, fatty meats, and cheese. On the third month I finally started adding low carb veggies and avocados. Every week they would check my vitals and I would go in to get b12 shots. I felt good and amazing! Within that three months of dieting and learning nutrition, I got my menstrual cycle back. My doctor warned me in the beginning that a lot of women who had a hard time getting pregnant or had pcos, ended up pregnant off of his program. I thought it was a joke. I laughed and told him that a few infertility doctors told me it would be nearly impossible. Anyways, a few more months go by and I ended up pregnant. I now have a beautiful, healthy, smart 3 year old boy. Ladies do not give up hope. A lot of us with pcos go through depression thinking it is not possible, but it is. Try the ketogenic diet. Do it for your health. I am currently making a month going back and my energy levels are up. I’m still irregular, but I know once I get back to a healthy weight it will come back. Keto is literally life changing for pcos. Best wishes to you all

I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS for 17 years now. I had hirsutism on my chin and chest, abdominal obesity, acne on my back, acanthosis nigricans (dark, velvety patches on my skin), and thin, balding, greasy hair. I also would have irregular menstrual periods that lasted for weeks, or would be absent for months. Since going Keto, the acne and acanthosis nigricans are completely gone. I lost 105 lbs in about 16 months, and am still working on my weight. I’ve hit a stall on the scale the last few months, but I’m losing inches still. My periods are regular like clockwork, and I now feel like I could get pregnant (As a young adult, I made peace with the fact that I might not be able to conceive). This diet is amazing...I never thought I’d be able to put these symptoms behind me, but Keto has healed a lot of my underlying disorders. I still have insulin resistance, but it’s slowly getting better. If you have PCOS, I urge you to try this diet!

Great video! However, at least some of this knowledge has been out there for quiet a while, only most doctors (at least in my country) are not interested. The (international) medical society have known the connection between PCOS and insulin resistance and the high risk of diabetes 2 a long time - yet, they don't check for insulin resistance, nor do they tell their PCOS-patients to cut out sugars and reduce carbs to reduce risk of diabetes 2. I think it is bordering criminal negligence. So much unnecessary suffering! It is such a good thing you are talking about this, Dr! Thank you!

I am 26 years old and had been on the pill since I was in high school for acne. Last February I decided to come off birth control and see what my body was like naturally/on it's own. Make sure things worked as they should. In a year's time I have developed typical PCOS symptoms including hair growth, hair loss, difficultly losing weight/weight gain, acne, and have only had one period in a year's time. I have had ultrasounds and spoke with my OBGYN and she prescribed me some period-inducing medication (which I declined because it didn't seem like it was going to help the source of the problem). She said I am considered an "abnormal" case of PCOS since I am not overweight or prediabetic (that I know of). It's a daily struggle with self-esteem. Thanks to my mother who is an avid keto/carnivore (and also watches your videos Dr. Berry), I have finally taken her (and your) advice and have started to try and do a lower carb/sugar diet. It is not easy. I have been conditioned since a child to eat a certain way and I am working to try and reverse my understanding of nutrition. I have good days and bad days but I am trying to keep my head up and keep moving forward even though it seems so much easier to just get back in the pill. Dr. Berry, your videos really do give me hope. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Since changing my diet to gluten free and low carb/sugar, I have brought my periods back! The days seem to fluctuate but they come every month. I couldn't be happier! It also (to me) confirms that inflammation was likely the cause. I've increased the sugar intake (mainly to test the limits) and although my skin still isn't quite where I'd like it to be (still some break outs) the periods still come. I have gained weight for sure (on pill-100lbs, off pill-113-115lbs) but I seem to have plateaued at about 115 (I'm 5 foot btw). I may have been too skinny for periods too! I'm still tone and fit. Don't be afraid of good fats (but anything in extreme excess is usually never good either). As far as hair loss goes...my hair is definitely thinner. It could be the fluctuations in hormone levels (on pill vs. off pill), it could be my body figuring out how to act normal after years of synthetic hormones, it could be that this is what my hair is naturally like! I don't know. I haven't been able to really draw conclusions yet. And unfortunately, especially with hair, it'll likely take a couple years for me to really notice a difference. I have long hair too so 🤷‍♀️
Amazing what happens when you cut out processed foods and eat cleanly!! I still enjoy life and food! I certainly don't have afternoon crashes anymore. And one of the biggest changes I've noticed, I don't get hangry anymore!! Holy moly I use to get hangry haha and insatiably hungry. Turns out that level of hangry may be caused by insulin resistance 🤷‍♀️
This is all still a work in progress but I am a big advocate for getting real with your diet. I use to think that diet didn't have an effect but I am living proof that it does!

I started keto Jan 6, 2020 I admitt I was getting down cause I still wasnt losing anything. Id go up and down the 5 lbs of water weight I lost when I started. Its jyst been the last couple weeks I started losing slowly. I started at 370 and im down to 356. I'm so glad someone is finally discussing this natural way of almost reversing PCOS. In a simplified way, since I got PCOS, I noticed my body is too sensitive to carbs and sugar. I noticed this when I went on my low-carb and intermittent fasting (IF) diet. I did IF about three days of the week and throughout the three months, I ate low carbs and tried to get my nutrients from unprocessed food as much as possible. Bc I wasn't able to get enough daily intake of protein, I was also supplementing with protein shakes. I was also working out on my days off, which were about three days a week. Within three months I've lost about 20lbs (so similar to the study that I got goosebumps). I wasn't able to get blood work done after the process. I've tried to speak with my GYN about studies like this that discuss eating healthy and working out as I did not want to be on medications for a long time, but I was brushed off and told being on BCP would ensure better pregnancy results. So I went the medical route just to really ensure a higher pregnancy rate. I've been on BCP for almost a year now, but bc of them, I've gained all the weight back and then some. Thanks to seeing this video, I'm going to get off of them again and revert to my low carb habits bc that seemed to have really worked for me. But I'll definitely do some blood work and soon and see how that equates to my lab results. Bc BCP really just made my health spiral downwards as opposed to eating low carb... It helped with some symptoms, but losing weight with low carb was far more affective and I was both physically and emotionally at my best. I can't say the same for the BCP.

I'm 26 years old and have been keto (and carnivore on and off) since 2017. I recently started seeing an endocrinologist and getting proper blood work done, and all my results have improved dramatically since changing my way of eating. My right ovary is no longer polycystic which is awesome, my periods are back (used to get only one a year) and cycles are gradually getting shorter. Not to mention weight loss of 35kg and counting, which has improved a lot of things like my feet not getting sore from short walks, dramatically increasing my self confidence etc. I'm now trying to conceive for the first time (being a mum is my biggest dream in life and was the reason I finally "clicked" mentally and managed to do keto - I'd failed on and off to try paleo, gluten free, aip paleo etc in the past but enough was enough and my age was increasing and I don't know how long it'll take me to have a successful pregnancy so I needed to finally fully get my butt into gear with my food!) and i can't wait to have a Keto pregnancy and raise my child on good food and hopefully prevent for them the same food addiction issues I've had all my life. I've seen the power of food in pure facts (bloods etc), it's amazing!

I wish I would have known before they forced me to have a complete hysterectomy at 36 and went into surgical menopause and I have been miserable ever since. I finally took myself off the poison Premarin a little over a year ago when I went Keto. I was on Premarin for 18 years and have suffered a lot of side effects that
I was never told about. I am still trying to figure out the best natural side effects loss of hormones that will make you feel normal .

I am now 65, and have had PCOS since I was around 9. It would be difficult to quickly tell you the lifetime of pain it has brought me. It would have helped if my doctors of over the 55 years had even once explained what was happening, but I was left to try and guess what was wrong. Fat, hairy, acne, over the top period problems and pain. At 20 I had wedge resections done on my ovaries, my doctor during the surgery went to my waiting mother to ask if he could do a total hysterectomy. He said I had the ovaries of a 90 year old woman. Thank God, she said no, because I was able at age 35 to conceive my son, now 29, with much infertility help. When I did have a hysterectomy at 45, the doctor decided, with no discussion with me, to leave my poor, old, painful ovaries in me! I am still upset over that, as they hurt to this day. Of course, there was always someone to point out my obvious problems to me, some complete strangers, as I guess they felt I didn’t know and needed them to point out my greatest shames. I felt I was cursed. My father was disgusted with me. I had my mother’s love, but she was also disappointed with my inability to control my weight. I was the only one in my family with these problems. Severe calorie restriction would result in some weight loss, but I was unable to keep it up as I felt I was starving all the time. It actually hurt, I was sooo hungry. Then when I stopped, I got even fatter. I have done this my whole life. Domino over and over. My doctor even now won’t explain what I can do now, he just says the obvious diet and exercise. Well, duh. I’m sure he feels I’m too old to bother with, even though I am still fat (220 pounds, my heaviest ever) with acne and hair issues. I thought after menopause I might be free, but no. One medication that helped with the acne and hair issues was Aldactone, which I took for many years, but it does have some side effects that need to be considered. Well, that’s my short version, thank you for reading this. Also, thank you for your advice, I’ll try to understand your recommendations.

Crusader Cat. I'm sorry you had to go through all that physical and emotional trauma due mostly to the ignorance of the medical profession. It sad that people were and are so judgmental when they see a person not able to manage their weight or acne. I'm so happy you are blessed with a son and now newfound knowledge that may help the next generation.. God bless..

I’m still working on cutting out fruit and dairy, but starting to. I am trying to take heart in the idea that even though this is the 4,675,890,331st diet I’ve been on, this one could work. 😊 I love the idea that there are so many people trying to help each other.

arym Hansie, he's not recommending a Mediterranean/Keto diet. He recommends actual Keto or Carnivore. He is relating the results of an Italian study here that shows the benefit of eating a low carb/modified keto diet, but is saying you'll get better results on actual keto. His entire RUclips channel is dedicated to this. Just start watching his videos. No need to buy a book.

Tartar buildup on teeth is pretty common for keto and carnivore. My dental hygienist is on keto too and mentioned it. Also Vilhjalmur Stefansson, who's often brought up in discussions about the carnivore diet for going a year eating only meat in the 1920s while under medical observation, didn't have any health problems but I did see an account that the only negative effect seemed to be a excess of plaque on his teeth.

    • @gullinvarg
      @gullinvarg 4 года назад +1

@@fizakhan2625 I get my teeth cleaned every 3 months because of previous problems with receding gums (probably not necessary for that anymore, but the tartar thing makes it handy). I'm currently experimenting with brushing with salt once a week. You don't want to do it too often because it's abrasive. The trick is finding a good balance where you're taking off the tartar and not the enamel. The good news is tartar doesn't cause cavities and cavities are much less likely on keto. Again this is based on what my hygienist said. Her concern was the bacteria in the tartar and it's effect on oral health.

And, pharmaceutical companies wouldn't be studying plants, taking extracts of them, and patenting them as drugs. This is not a claim or lies I was cured of PCOS, and my friend was also cured of Chronic UTI by Dr. Egobe herbal medicine in case you are having any health challenges you can contact him and also get a cure too, through him you can get pregnant and have your baby.

I have PCOS and KETO did NOT work for me. However, most of the reason was that it simply wasn't sustainable long term for my diet, happiness, lifestyle, and mental health. Instead I saw some research that showed that eating fiber before eating carbs essentially hampers the absorption of carbs, and I looked into research about how gut bacteria gets killed off over a lifetime of bad eating. So rather than keto I started doing additive dieting rather than cutting carbs. I eat those packs of veggies with ranch for breakfast with a protein drinkable yogurt with no sugar, I try to have veggies with every meal and eat all the veggies first, I took probiotics for a couple months until I was pooping normal with the added veggies. And the only exercise I do is walking and light weight training. After about three months of this I passed a huge cyst during my period, and have had regular periods since then, and started dropping weight. I started at around 310 and a year and half later I'm sitting at about 248 and still losing. I feel healthier than I have since high school. I still eat unhealthy sometimes, but the added veggies usually keep me too full to overindulge. So long story short, I don't believe you have to do keto, but you HAVE to address how you process carbs and fix your gut bacteria. And yes, even if I don't eat keto, I often have meals that would be considered keto, simply because lots of stir fried veg and some meat over a little rice is just a perfect delicious meal anyways.

This video was very helpful, I’m a 24 yo, I started working 2 years back and the stress plus lack of exercise caused gain of weight and ultimately me developing PCOS. It’s been very difficult for me to stick to a regular diet as I am a vegetarian and I’ve been on intermittent fasting diet since March 2020.
Could really use some help with suggestions on how I can get my protein substituted as I don’t eat meat or sea food.

I have PCOS that wasn't diagnosed until 7 years ago - I am now 54. Not one doctor I went to over the years suggested anything other than medication. It was my naturopathic doctor who suggested it was PCOS, and my nurse practitioner who diagnosed it.
It blows my mind that it took over 20 years for a medical professional to figure it out. I really hope that it's not too late to turn my health around and reverse any damage to my body.

My wife was told by doctors her pcos was permanent. Without changing her diet at all she started having periods (granted twice a month) so she sees that there is something to all this and she is trying to take keto seriously but she doesn't stick to it often. Everyone enables her and her mental disorders give her little self control.
However she has lost 30 pounds this year. The intermittent fasting has helped her be fat adapted. I'm hoping a month of strict will help with the mental illness's and we might see if the bipolar is a misdiagnosed ptsd and we will try changing meds for that.

I had PCOS since starting my first cycle. At age 16-17 I could no longer take all the symptoms. I was overweight. Had no muscle mass whatsoever. Terrible acne. Terrible gut microbiome. Inconsistent cycles which were unbelievably painful. And my mustache was thicker than those of the boys in my class.
I started doing Keto during spring time and also got into the habit of working out in the early mornings. Mainly either going for a jog in the morning sun first and then some home exercises with my own bodyweight. I dropped weight so easily that summer. Exercising became fun. My symtpoms got about 75% better, I dropped 2 clothings sizes and even my allergies went away.
Would have never made it without the ketogenic diet
