He’s an all time great and was nothing short of legendary for the Packers, one of the best arms of all time, i don’t want to take any of that away from him. However i always was under the belief that he was never the leader of our team, just a quarterback that we had to build a roster around year in and year out. He’s a great quarterback don’t get me wrong, or was a great quarterback, but this dude is not and never has been someone who is gonna turn a bad franchise around. He happened to go to a perfect situation in Green Bay, and the rest is history. As great as Rodgers can be physically, mentally when he’s out he’s out. No knock on the man that used to be my hero as a kid, but some people are just not leaders, not motivators, and thats fine. The Jets got desperate
Rodgers had so many comebacks, what are you talking about. He literally came back from a knee injury that affected him all year and came back down 21-3 against the bears. Just this year he refused to go to the medical tent and tried to lead a drive. Dude wants to win, nobody could turn around the jets.
Lifelong Packers fan here that also watched the entirety of Rodgers' career. I completely agree with your take, he has led many fantastic game winning drives in his career that I'm extremely grateful for, but ever since 2019/2020ish I noticed a definite shift in his mentality. Any time the team was struggling in a big game Rodgers consistently would become frustrated and mope on the sidelines and that bled through to everyone. Tom Brady had that gene in him of motivating and rallying his teammates when the odds were against them and it felt like they were never truly out of the game. Especially late in Rodgers' Green Bay tenure, this was never the case and it felt like the smallest bit of adversity was always too much to overcome. A great example of this was 2021 against the 49ers.
@@SuperPackersfan25 as fellow Green Bay lifer, the team lacked success because of our horrible defensive years, not Rodgers lack of leadership. Tom Brady might be louder on the sidelines, but he also had a Top 10 Defense for like 80% of his career of course it’s easier to win. Rodgers was a leader by being one of the best quarterbacks on earth, and watching his defense throw games year in and year out probably gets old.
I see your perspective but don't necessarily agree with your take. There were multiple seasons where Rodgers only played on 1 leg basically and still one league MVPs. He wants to win. Unfortunately his public persona has made him out to be kind of a weiner in the last coupler of years so he has removed people giving the benefit of the doubt. The fact is that Rodgers isn't as mobile at 40 and the jets can't trot a 40 year old quarterback out there when they have the softest O line in the league. Couple that with undisciplined penalties and a terrible defense, There is no quarterback that will ever exist that would be good on this jets team
@@SuperPackersfan25 there was something else that happened in 2019/2020 that COMPLETELY changed the tone in the way the media talked about Rodgers as well.
Rodgers couldn't get the Packers in the Super Bowl the last 13 years he was there, he was done in Green Bay. The Packers finally saw it, too bad the Jets couldn't. It's time to start collecting draft picks for the future, trading them away for old players that Aaron wants is not working.
I said it at the beginning of the season when every one hyped the jets up and had them in the playoffs or even in the championship game/superbowl. The jets are still the jets and since i watch football i always hear how good the jets will be and they are never able to get anything done at the end. They always have a lot of noise arround the team and inside there is always some chaos.
Can someone at ESPN run the stats on Boston Connor to see if he’s ever asked a question on the show in under 1,000 words? He has an uncanny ability to spill out run on sentences
@MistyMountainVideo yes, really. Everything that was good about this team has gone down the tubes since they just handed over the keys to the entire franchise to a big mouth narcissist, who, without the physical skills anymore to back up his arrogance, is just a complete liability in a locker room and on the field. Handpicking players, the dumb cadance and presnap clock crap, the showing up recievers on the field when he's the one airmailing passes. This entire plan has Woody's fingerprints all over it.
Idk how delusional you can be to think he's the main issue. They fired their coach in the beginning of the season that's the biggest issue. It's completely evident with how disorganized and undisciplined the team is. Second the kicker Is literally worst in the league with all his misses he lost at least 3 games by himself! The defence can't stop anyone and they are injured. Rodgers got hurt because the O Line sucks but he's still put them in positions to win games it's nowhere near the worst QB performance, it's average play to below average. Who cares if he thinks he's the best, the issue was that Woody Johnson thought he was the best and paid him to be the best.
@@noonecares7730 he is clearly having an impact on all of the decisions being made behind the scene (e.g. head coach replacement).
When will the darkness scholar be on ?
I said it at the beginning of the season when every one hyped the jets up and had them in the playoffs or even in the championship game/superbowl. The jets are still the jets and since i watch football i always hear how good the jets will be and they are never able to get anything done at the end. They always have a lot of noise arround the team and inside there is always some chaos.
Can someone at ESPN run the stats on Boston Connor to see if he’s ever asked a question on the show in under 1,000 words? He has an uncanny ability to spill out run on sentences
He has a low IQ. Cut him a break.
Bill please coach the jets 2:06 😂
They were the 34th ranked defense 4:17 (in a 32 team league)... Very dry, Bill...
He said it being facetious. He was obviously joking.
@@alontemcknight836 Bill Belichick missed his calling. I literally lol'ed when I heard that.
The jets losing to the Pats is easily my favorite win of the last 2 years as a pats fan!!
Giants in same situation. Change everything multiple times. Everything but the majority owner.
It's hard to decide which NY team is better right now
BB talks a whole other language but I absolutely ❤ love it.
Pretty bad when Bill thinks an expansion team would make you the 33rd overall defense
Looking forward to signing Jordan Love when he turns 45
Bro Davante what did you do!!! Smh dam bro 🤦
That was the comment that Reddick upset???? Lmao thank the lord he’s not in Philly if that got under his skin
This was bad, but the biggest disaster was the Yankees up 3-0 against Boston, then proceeded to lose 4 straight!
To me it was the 78 Red Sox blowing a 13 game lead in September and losing to NY and Bucky fn Dent in a playin game.😢
If the Dodgers go up 3-0, and Papi has to talk about it, Jeter will have a stroke.
Post Pats Bill is the best
Trading for Rodgers was the dumbest idea ever. EVER.
Really? Is it Rodgers who can't stop the run? Did Rodgers miss a FG and a PAT?
@MistyMountainVideo yes, really. Everything that was good about this team has gone down the tubes since they just handed over the keys to the entire franchise to a big mouth narcissist, who, without the physical skills anymore to back up his arrogance, is just a complete liability in a locker room and on the field. Handpicking players, the dumb cadance and presnap clock crap, the showing up recievers on the field when he's the one airmailing passes. This entire plan has Woody's fingerprints all over it.
The laugh after he mentions using up the timeouts lol
Rodgers is the main problem. He still thinks hes the top qb in the league
Ah well, at least he doesn't have a problem with his heart.......
@@AllShaaaallPerish you don't think Rodgers had a role in firing him?
@@noonecares7730 he is clearly having an impact on all of the decisions being made behind the scene (e.g. head coach replacement). Why wouldn’t we think that he plays a far greater role in playmaking and calling in games? I don’t understand how people CANNOT put a large portion of the blame squarely on him.
