    You can really tell the difference between coaches and reporters analysis of the game. Bill is talking pure analytics and fundamentals, not just narratives. Could listen to the OG all day.

      It is what it is at this point. The nfl is no different than the WWE now. Just enjoy the show and don't take it too seriously. I agree with you, I think it kills the game I loved but like I said it is what it is now

      @@JohnSmith-tk7nt I completely disagree. One is purposely scripted and has live actors, the other is a sport that is not scripted and anyone has a chance to win the championship. Both are made to entertain but in completely different ways. Everyone knows the outcome of WWE is already written down, with NFL teams its not. So i agree with the OP that NFL shouldn't be in business with gambling partners.

    The most important problem is bad football, lack of discipline, lack of understanding, stupid mistakes over and over and it's almost every team that malke bonehead decisions. That's why you have two or three really great teams and the rest is hit or miss

    Another thing I think they should find a compromise on the size of the football between college and pro. Make the college ball slightly larger and the pro ball slightly smaller. Anything that helps ease the transition between college an pro will lead to a better and more entertaining product on the field.

    Belichick totally misses the real point. It's not that the rules are inconsistent. It's that the officials are totally inconsistent. Changing the rules won't change the problems with inconsistent calls by officials. THAT'S where the focus should be.

      You are the one that misses the point. Inconsistent rules leads to inconsistent calls plain and simple. Every single year a rule gets some minor adjustment that completely changes how a game has to be called. The roughing the passer has been a shitshow. 10 years ago going low was an automatic flag then after a couple of years the started tweaking the rule. 3 years ago landed on the QB or even coming near him was an automatic flag now you have minor adjustments.

    lions fan, I think there might be a little bit of "prior" with the call here. teams tee it up to the ref's as well. with the NFL chiming in immediately after the play with the quick hook, it tells me Branch may have been "targeted" himself.

    Players shouldn't be getting ejected at this level of the game for playing ball. 15 yard penalty sure ,fined maybe, not ejection.

    Branch deserved the ejection. He put his hands down and put his helmet into the players helmet. He didn't wrap up and that technique choice was a deliberate action with malice.

    The "youngest team in the league" is such a BS stat. The avg age of teams is under 2 years difference between the youngest and the oldest. Packers are the youngest (32nd) at 25y7m old; Tenn is at #19 in the list and exactly 1 year older. Carolina is second oldest, cle is 4th. In fact, the youngest 16 teams are far better than the oldest 16 teams as a group. It seems like one of those stats people want to point to for excuses for regular stupid plays by a team more than anything.

    With all do respect, I fear the idea of making a unified ruleset for NFL/College football targeting. I do not want these NFL refs being able to eject players, they can barely call a game consistently as it is, I don't want them getting even more power to impact a game.

    Removing the road teams best player is never a good thing. Luckily for Detroit they're so loaded they have at a minimum 5 best players on defense.
    And that game was a blowout.
    Love is starting to become the biggest garbage time stat padder in the NFL...Jordan Love is the new Derek Carr in that regard.

    Instead of New York how about the opposing coach making the ejection call. If it really wasn't a target, call the unsportsmanlike, the league can fine but if the other coach feels it was football, move on.

    Branch hit was dirty. Ball was way out and behind him and he lowers his head and puts the crown right in the face of the WR. Don't know how you don't say that was not intentional. Ejection was fair.
