      You will learn a lot about his approach to the game and how he sees things if you read “The Education of a Coach”, written about 15-20 years ago by David Halberstam, a great author, who was a neighbor of Belichick’s on Nantucket. It’s not a long book, but it’s pretty obvious from the details about Bill’s father, Steve Belichick, that the two men had to have sat down for extensive conversations. It covers all of Bill’s early career, including his first several years with the Patriots. It will give you insight into Bill’s thoughts, and his dry wit.
      You’ll also learn why he was so guarded with the media in New England, and it had to do with his tenure in Cleveland, especially as he wasn’t told in 1995 about the move, and was left as the only team representative to answer to the media in the last several weeks of the 1995 season as the season fell apart on the team because of the turmoil surrounding the relocation. Bill actually had the Browns moving in the right direction, improving each season. In 1994, they made the playoffs, where Belichick and the Browns beat Parcells and the Patriots in the Wild Card round. Things started out well in 1995, but Art Modell pulled the rug out from underneath his own team with his decision to move the team.
      But I highly recommend the book.

    • @johncronin9540
      @johncronin9540 Месяц назад +2

      I’m not sure who you are talking about, but I live in New England, and he kept discipline in house. Basically, he did discipline players when necessary, but rarely talked on the record to the media about it, not wanting to show a player up, or embarrass them. That happened with Malcolm Butler- still don’t know what actually happened, but Bill did what was necessary, and took the flak from the media by refusing to explain the details to the media.
      Most players appreciate that. Bill also brought in character players, to create an atmosphere of accountability in the locker room, and would get rid of players (usually quietly) who were a problem. But he would let his guard down when meeting his players and former players.

    • @kevinwalsh4652

      🧐🤔 hmm? Going backwards, he benched Steven Ridley and Sony Micel for fumbling, benched Malcom Butler for talking smack to Bill's son Steve, finally, as a rookie Ellis Hobbs jumped a route in preseason game for interception, against Bill's wishes, post game media interview Hobbs said he'd do it again...didn't see the field for approximately six weeks.

The technologies is there digital cameras can tell whether a guy carried the ball across the goal line and broke the plane or the ball was not controlled fumbled as a touchback or went out of bounds in the end zone, let’s get it rightcause cameras are not showing ball in control catch with feet down.
