In this episode I attend an old Vailiant thermocompact system boiler with a no heating no hot water fault, I diagnose it down to a failed PCB, showing you my thought process and testing procedure I follow.
And an expensive toilet repair to perform on a pnuematic style flush valve! NOOO!
Thank you for your continued support as always!

Do you remember the even older Vaillants with just a few rocker switches behind the front cover? My parents had one installed at their office in 1987 and it lasted for about 15 or 20 years. There used to be a YT video somewhere, fixing the world's oldest combi boiler or something along those lines. At home my parents had a 1977 Junkers-Bosch combi until 2012. Apart from needing a new expansion vessel (ended up fitting a cheap external one instead) in 2008 or so it still worked fine but no longer met emissions standards. That's right, they required people to replace working boilers just because of new emissions regs.
That boiler still had a pilot light that you had to light with matches! Occasionally a particularly strong gust of wind down the chimney would blow the pilot out. Two knobs (hot water temperature and flow temperature) and three rocker switches (on/off, heating on/off and heating half/full power if I remember correctly), and a round combi gauge, flow temperature and pressure.
