    Nice demonstration my friend. I used a pump for my PCP ca 20 years ago. I struggled to get over 150 BAR in it. I think pumps are of better quality today and maybe easiyer to pump. Cheers

      These days i use compressor too but keep a hand pump as back up if the world ends.

    Make sure to bottom out the pump piston on both up stroke and downstroke. If you don't you lose 80% of efficiency, you are just bouncing piston on an air pocket.

    • @lesslethalfordummies
      @lesslethalfordummies  Год назад +1

      Yes i did mention full complete strokes otherwise you are just wasting energy. Most of the actual compression is at the bottom 1” or so but not fully extending the stroke also just waste time as you are not grabbing enough air.

    this helped me thank you but question what is the difference between a small 3000 psi bottle like yours and a larger one also 3000 psi?

    • @lesslethalfordummies
      @lesslethalfordummies  21 день назад +1

      The ci (cubic inches) size 10 vs 13 vs 26 is the volume of air the bottle can hold store safely at 3000psi. Larger the bottle, the more shots. There are also 4500psi bottle which can store roughly 60% more shots in the same volume because the stored pressure is higher.

      Finding high pressure 1200+ output pcp regs are not that common state side. The only one that comes to mind is the Ninja Flex regulator, otherwise Aliexpress will have any pressure regulator under the moon including adjustable ones.

  • @lawrence208

    LOL i bought one of these for $50-60. They actually work. But the reality is, after pumping a few times, the juice will no longer be worth the squeeze. I'm 5'11 190 and I found it extremely hard to pump past 3000 psi for my 4500 hpa tanks. Like the byrna this hand pump served as a gateway to better things because now I just use electric. The hand pump can still serve as a back up in case you have no power.

    • @lesslethalfordummies

    Hi Sean. Have you looked into the 9ci tanks from Grimburg and if so, do you know if they are easy to modify upwards from 850 psi? It looks like they are using a Ninja regulator. Also, as a single marker owner that is thinking about moving to an air tank, like the 9ci size, any opinions on using a hand pump vs. a cheap pcp air compressor? Thanks!

    • @lesslethalfordummies
      @lesslethalfordummies  5 месяцев назад

      I have a few 9ci and 10ci tanks. Changing the output isnt difficult at all but you need the correct shims for that particular regulator being used. Approx 220 strokes to fill with a hand pump. Nothing wrong with hand pumping but if you encounter an issue, air empties fast and then you got to start over. 😢

    • @ChrisC-cb6rz
      @ChrisC-cb6rz 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@lesslethalfordummies thanks Sean. Most appreciated. I don’t have the interest or desire to pick up one of those Yong Heng compressors and I am fearful that the smaller compressors will crap out. Whereas the hand pump has less parts and in the end, I would only be filling a 9ci tank.

    • @lesslethalfordummies
      @lesslethalfordummies  5 месяцев назад

      @ChrisC-cb6rz if you reach out to Grimburg they may be able to adjust the output pressure for your purchase. Never hurts to ask.
      I understand not needing a compressor, but even a good hand pump can be more than half the cost of a compressor.

    • @ChrisC-cb6rz
      @ChrisC-cb6rz 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@lesslethalfordummies as always….awesome advice. The order had already been processed for shipment. Once it arrives, I will take a closer look at the actual regulator (the rep did not know which Ninja regulator is attached). The point I intended to make about the cheap compressor vs. hand pump was more about which one would last longer, not the price. You are right about hand pumps….some of them are definitely pricy. My thought process is to invest in a decent quality hand pump vs throwing money at a compressor that may or may not last.

    • @lesslethalfordummies
      @lesslethalfordummies  5 месяцев назад

      @@ChrisC-cb6rzyou will have to check whats inside the regulator when it arrives. Ninja either uses a spring or bellevue washers.
      The inexpensive oilless compressors do work well for limited use and may not be a bad option for your frequency of usage. I would suggest one from Amazon Prime that can be returned easily should it be a dud.
      If you choose a hand pump look for minimum 3 stage pump.

    Have you had any issues with the foster fitting not locking up on the full nipple? I’m having this issue on my pepperball 13 ci and first strike 10 ci hpa bottles but the foster fitting secures with the fill nipple on my ninja hpa tank.

    • @lesslethalfordummies
      @lesslethalfordummies  9 месяцев назад

      On my newest FS regulator that has an external hex drive nipple…yes the QD bottoms out on the hex before locking. Most annoying if you ask me. It’s easy enough to swap to a different nipple but a hassle and small expense none the less.
      The FS nipple in this video was the old internal allen key style and i never had a problem. They ceased production of these because apparently if you torqued them too tight the allen drive breaks, fractures the nipple and makes them damn near impossible to remove at that point.

      I cant stress enough shimming your own bottles can be somewhat dangerous if you dont know what you are doing. There are safety features built into the bottle but should something malfunction 💥. Most paintball marker are at least tested to 1100psi max by the manufacturer.
      Just be mindful of the firing pin sending higher than normal pressure into the FS markers.
