Something very strange happened in the next full video when i test 1100psi.

I believe it varies country to country. In North America i believe aluminum tanks 26ci or less do not require hydro testing. Anything carbon regardless of size requires 5 year hydro testing intervals. I quick visual inspection of your aluminum tank is sufficient IMO. I occasionally check my fill gauges in storage because some tanks develop leaks over time but this is the regulator and not the actual tank failing. Biggest thing is don’t drop them.

Yes the Mission 4 is reliable. It is a Tippmann after all. Mine shot 22j out of the box using 88/90g co2 with the velocity screw wide open.

Out of curiosity for someone who’s not very familiar with modding these launchers, how much of a process would it be to get this thing to fire around 25-28 joules?

Adding a long barrel would be the easiest way to get the velocity up. I would recommend a 14” TMC Lion Claw barrel from MCS and dont forget to pick up a flash hider to finish it off. The factory barrel is 12” but only has 11” of actual control.

Ideally the perfect dwell time is set to the barrel length and pressure output. Anything more would just be wasteful and not amount to any actual gains. Actually over dwelling something, if thats even a word would likely hurt accuracy as excess turbulence disrupts the projectile upon exit. What needs to be done is the size of the dump valve…everything else is just a modified paintball marker.

I no longer own any Cqs but they did handle 50j fine. I would never set them higher than that.

No we do not because these are paintball derivatives. A choke would likely fracture paint, not to mention air isnt as volatile as powder so we would loose precious velocity.

If one was dedicated to accuracy over all else optimised for a know distance and one didn't mind standardising on one projectile sdn weight you could use an LRB a slight bend/narrowing at an angle of the barrel to induce the magnus effect. Guaranteed twonie size groups at 18m for example. God i need a machineshop.

There are probably way more precise ways to attempt a choke but i have shot some balls through an undersized stubby barrel in the past. Velocity fell way off to the point it wasnt adequate for our intensions. It is an interesting concept but as soon as a projectile encounters barrel resistance….air is lazy like water and chooses the path of least resistance. Gun powder not so much.

It is arguably the most effective LL pistol launcher to date. Roundball of the 8 - 10g variety seems to turn the best result. Its effectiveness cannot be summarized. There are many factors to consider when drawing that conclusion.

You can purchase threaded cartridges on Amazon.

Believe it or not less lethal by military’s definition is 80j. I am pretty comfortable at only 50j. It is really a hand canon. 🙂

Congrats! It is a beast, but surprisingly there are launchers that are much louder believe it or not.

I have the moon spring on deck but i have to go through some barrels and higher outputs first before doing anything irreversible.

I was surprised too since most of what i read paintball wise is that the 468 suffered from fluctuations greater than 10fps.

@@lesslethalfordummies Well, im not sure if i measure a noteworthy difference between a 20cm extension or 2x20cm for 40cm, bare in mind its freaking cold here in Switzerlad.

@@SebsWorlda double deleted Umarex has air for days. If i remember correctly Jeff started to lose gains at the 26” mark. Short pins, long pins, extra bumpers….what really needs to happen is the diameter of the pin. It’s all about the dump.

There are a couple of different types of LL users. Some want out of the box power. No fowl here, i couldn’t agree more for the average bear. The others want to mod their launcher and watch it grow while learning its ins and outs. Neither is wrong. LL is a difficult choice to make when you can buy a firearm on the street corner easier.

Just the spring and 14” barrel.

Originally Rune removed the brass restrictor and his consistency went out the window. It was all over the place. Dont bother with any pins. The best mod is removing the block and adding the 88/90g pressure housing from HD24 then you will be able to use the large co2 tanks with an inexpensive adapter.

Hey, you know what I have noticed about the Grey Aluminum Alien plays is that a good bit of them are not perfectly rounded and they caused drag and damage to the barrel unlike the chrome Aluminum Alien plays... I like that light it fits like a glove... I just picked up a new addition and I am pleased to say the least. Be Good Brother.

I am using 1 yard of ballistic nylon folded over twice. It works great for heavier projectiles but as you may have noticed in other videos the lighter projectiles ricochet 50/50. A single fold would be better for light projectiles

@@scottyb159could also try bunching it up like curtains. The best i found for light stuff was cutting the first point of contact i to strips but it makes a mess when you step up to heavy projectiles.

Also are you using a 55 gallon drum? Looks a bit smaller?

They are all the same. The difference is the size of the valve block. 7.5j has the biggest block 11j smaller block 16j no block They all have the brass restrictor. 40j is the 16j only its powered by a 88/90g co2.
