Glad to see Metroid finally make an appearance, so many broken games (I really hope you do Super Metroid, though some of those tricks are absolutely brutal) but many of them are still legitimately good.

Parnifia the Bastard Dude, the NX is coming out next year and they're stopping production of Wii U consoles. the Wii U is dead. there were no Metroid games for it, and there never will be. CAULDRONS! I don't really think that Metroid mini game really counts.

The door jump glitch was one of the only ones I used during my regular gameplay. There is a missle upgrade in a really shitty place where you need to do a pixel perfect jump with low ceiling, otherwise you fall down a long shaft, and it takes ages to get back just to try again.
Great video, haven't had chance to watch one from you in a while so good to catch up. I considered Metroid but couldn't find near as many glitches as you've showcased! My hat's off to you Andy, great to see your channel still growing fast and the release of a new channel too! Good luck with it :)

A glitch? lol... @ 2:12 I thought this was the way to do it the entire time I played. I loved this game and it was the 1st game I ever got along with my 1st old school Nintendo for Christmas 1985. In fact, I still have it and the gun, duck hunt, power glove, and many games in my storage closet in the spare room. I break it out ever few months to get a little nostalgia feeling. Excellent video!! Sub and thumbs up!
I love those games too! but unfortunately the GC version IS FULL OF overexploited glitches, the most famous being: "early Ice beam (skip Flaaghra)", "Scan Visor higher jump" for MP1 and "early power bombs", "Screw Attack istantly kills Emperor Ing" for MP2. As for MP3 I can't tell right now, but just watch a Speedrun if you're interested ;)
LinkAranGalacticHero yeah I saw the screw attack kills emperor Ing one, my mouth dropped when i saw that. I played the Metroid prime trilogy for the Wii. Best $60 spent in my life. I swear we need another one, like not necessarily the same storyline, but the same style of the prime series game. But I mean MP3 did end with Dark Samus' ship following Samus so who knows maybe they will pick up from where they left off.

But yeah i do admit i'm a bit worried about the NX. I'm sure they will announce more games to come with the console, but they better have a metered Prime game in store or else i'm not gonna get it

Only Metroid game I ever played was that one for Game Boy, and that was it. It's a series I would like to get into but just haven't been able to have the time to do so.
Not gonna lie, the thing at 7:15 woulda been a cool secret. (I say as I almost failed the first escape sequence in Metroid Prime, with like 19 seconds on the clock. And can't get past the first few rooms in the original game)

Umm, where did you find a metroid with a helmet? I want to find that easter egg! To be more serious, I assume you are talking about samus's helmet and her ship in super metroid, etc? From the front the window makes it look similar but from other angles its different. And while that ship is the most common/iconic ship, in other games she does fly completely different ships.

I love your videos, man! I love seeing all the little ways games can be broken or exploited, and the quality of these are top notch!. If you get the chance and didn't know already, you should really check out the original 5 Tomb Raiders for PS1 and PC. There's a plethora of glitches and bugs in the games and almost all of them can be used to do amazingly well for speedruns; a lot of the glitches carry through the games, but with each new game there are more really cool things to exploit. I think they'd interest you a lot!

So your annotation towards the end starts 32 seconds early. Figured I'd mention that, as you might not notice. Also, thanks for the cool Metroid glitches, man. Always fun to see the crazy funtimes happen.
Oh trust me. These glitches are nothing compared to the "ENGAGE RIDLEY MOTHER FUCKER" glitch. Typing it on the password screen will either crash the game upon the lightest tap on the start button, or even worse, permanently break the entire console.
Finally! I love glitching this game and speedrunning it. The early Varia suit glitch is good, but I usually use the door jump glitch to get myself up there - don't even have to get the ice beam first, so you can do it as soon as you have missiles! You get your first missile tank closer to the varia suit than to the ice beam, so this allows you to shave off a couple minutes for your speed run. Maybe you should do Metroid 2 next... Just saying: if nothing else, there's the 'Secret Worlds' glitch in M2 that's leagues better than it was in M1 - they were playable (instead of invariably requiring a reset because you were stuck somewhere) and change every time you play!
You had ONE chance. You could have did a N64 game considering it's Episode 64 and it's been less than 20 years since the N64's release. But, you didn't. Unsubbed, disliked, reported, swatted, and hacked.
Very cool, this was the first NES game I ever got. Played it for 15 hours straight the day I got it. Been one of my favorites ever since. Never knew about any of these glitches except the sprite stuck when the door disappears.

Honestly I just beat this game today and I ended up using that exact sequence break without even realizing that's what I was doing. I've beaten Zero Mission several times so I knew it felt weird going for the Varia so early, but the way it was set up made it seem natural.

However, they're actually rooms created from the game being confused when the value denoting where Samus is is different from the one telling how the game should populate the room.

I found a cool glitch for the giant tower of breakable blocks in Kraid's lair. If you stand on the very edge of it, you won't take damage and get knocked back, so you can climb up a lot easier. I use this every time to make it less frustrating.

I'd suggest the GBA games or Super, Metroid 2 is not a good starting point for the series
