Getting age restricted, doubling down on it, having it lifted, having it reapplied. This is a series of events that can only happen when something is going very wrong in management. The rules ware not being applied equally, that is proven fact now. The question left is "why?". Cory is right to point out that it seems like it's favouritism or racism. But there is always the good ol 3rd path of sheer incompetence and/or relying on AIs to make all the decision. Option 3 is not at all a good one, it's not the better outcome. @@zenmastermtl The heart of the issue is this: "protect and serve" is marketing material, and nothing more. It is not a policeman's job to protect the community from crime. His job is to catch people who have already committed their crimes. Granted, they _can_ stop a crime in progress. If they like their odds. But it was repeatedly decided in court during the second half of the 20th century, with some landmark legal cases in the Reagan years, that police are under no obligation to stop anyone from committing a crime, they are only obligated to arrest suspects after the crime has been committed. The nastiest case I saw of this was a school resource officer who got off scott-free after letting a disabled child's abusive dad kidnap him from the school and murder him. Mom had already warned staff, and him, but he didn't care. It was determined that even though he could have guessed that dad was going to kill the kid, you can't charge an officer for failing to stop a crime that had yet to happen, despite prior warning. And so he was let off, and kept his job. No word on whether he brought snacks to the child's wake.

I don't think that is an accurate comparison. In that example, those that recovered from cancer would have to be given cancer again to help cure others.
I agree that the prices of post secondary are ridiculous but this is because of the subsidies that are offered. They need to find a cure for this.
By paying off these debts, this will be paid by the tax payer. This will also worsen inflation. This is not how debt should be handled. We need to stop bailing out banks, businesses and tuitions, that is not the role of the government.

Not sure if this helps, and I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet, but the exact same thing happened to me and my Mortuary Assistant video. This actually all happened prior to Cory playing the game.
My video, which was originally uploaded on August 2nd, got age-restricted within 30 mins of it being live. I tried to appeal, and it was rejected 5 mins later, even though my video was 48 minutes long. I evaluated the situation, and decided to remove it, edit out ANYTHING that could trigger the age-restriction, and re-upload it the next day. That version was on August 3rd and it was fine until the day Cory released his video, where it got age-restricted again.
I think the reason Cory didn't notice is because at the time that he looked for other creators being age-restricted, my video had already been removed and re-uploaded to satisfy RUclips. He would not have seen it. I did talk about it on Twitter when it happened to me, but Cory does not follow me and I don't think he's very active on there anyway.

I'm glad SOMEBODY is finally calling them out on their crap, because they DO show some pretty serious biases that don't get equivalent treatments across the platform...
There should be something quantifiable as a legitimate set of standards AND get enforced appropriately. If it's bad enough to age restrict for the little channel with 10,000 followers, then it should be restricted or taken down for Fox News or Fail Army, just the same...
AND spare me the justifications "Nobody was seriously hurt" being plastered across a motorcycle accident scene at 100+ mph. I ride a motorcycle. I wear the gear. I KNOW someone was pretty seriously injured when I see it.
...AND that's just one of my pet bitches about the whole thing. Newgrounds.com does a ratings system based loosely on ESRB standards, and you can activate or deactivate rating filters for your own feed. Seems to work pretty well, even when they have to go after someone for mis-representing their material... BUT I fail utterly to see why YT hasn't just adopted that standard with a "grace period" for all creators to start implementing effective ratings on their work. It would be straight forward, and advertisers would be able to set the same filters for where their material is shown and who gets involved with what... Win's all the way around. No more excuses for Adpocalypse horse's assery, no more sweating whether something is too sexy or too filthy or too violent... Bad boys and girls can still be entertaining... and if advertisers don't like them, they just lose money until they figure it out...
I grew up with Sam Kinison for f***'s sakes... You just about can't find the material substantive enough to offend my delicate sensitivities... So the thing about the student loans
    1. As an elementary teacher, I’m actually benefitting pretty solidly from the loan forgiveness. I’m very excited.
    2. The logic of “imagine how people who saved for their kids college and lived like crap to pay their loans” as a reason to NOT erase debt is wild to me. Like yes, I hate that I constantly paid well above the minimum in an attempt to chip away at mine. I hate that I could’ve spent it to better my life in the moment. But that’s the choice I chose, and him NOT erasing debt doesn’t give me that money back. All it does is make my life easier going forward and help friends, family, loved ones, and people in the future not have to live the way I did.
    3. There’s a bit in their complaining that smacks as horrifying “what about the people in the armed forces who chose that path to pay for college?” Like it’s not okay that some people sign up to gamble their life fighting in another country for these politicians’ gains solely because they can’t afford college otherwise. We make college degrees such an integral part of the job market, we jack the prices up all to hell, and they have the audacity to say that this is a bad thing because now less people will put their lives on the line for a chance at it. Ridiculous.

The $10k/$20k relief being offered will wipe out the very small amount of debt I have left, and I'm not even mad that the several thousands of dollars I have already paid back I won't see refunded to me by the bill's signing. I want everybody else with student loan debt and doesn't have the luxury of low life costs and very low student loan payments that I am lucky to have to be able to breathe slightly easier. We need to make sure college is affordable, we need to eliminate predatory student loans, cap the cost of college, and modernize the poverty line to get aid to those who need it most. We must do ALL of these things and this is simply step one.
I worked my ass off to get $30k in scholarship for a $35k/year school because I didn't know there were better options. I was a pell recipient and the $20k in forgiveness means instead of $35k, I'll only have to pay $15k and that's life changing

congrats! I am NOT a pell recipient and I agree with everything you said. Education is the LIFE and HEART of a moving community and society. To paywall that is only so understandable, until it isnt. A simple study is that interest is made to keep the poor, poor. Everyone is stressing about aiding the rich, but in the end we are all in the same boat of "that could be me" on the struggle.
Rich doesn't mean smart or emotionally intelligent. The poverty need a support system, and ridiculing the rich isn't OUR change. its just a critique. that may not even change unless we focus on OUR poverty healing!
I owe $30k- but it's Not a contest of who has it WORSE when it comes to financially healing. I owe that much and I may even owe more from predatory loan systems. If someone next to me had that wiped out Id LOVE and even be jelly- but their win doesn't mean my future is a total loss. Loans need to eradicate interest because I have a higher chance of my total loss. someone winning that pell grant had nothing or fault of my own. Just like how we do with methamphetamines, which in medical forms are beneficial to so many people.

Hi Phil! You probably will not see this comment, but if you do, I just want to thank you for making these videos and staying with all of us beautiful bastards throughout the years. I have been watching the show for over ten years now, and like you, I have grown and changed as a person throughout those years. Unfortunately, I have changed while everyone else around me have stayed the same. My family and friends have completely different viewpoints that I do and I often feel ostracized and alone…..and then I click on one of your videos. As a broke full-time college kid who also works full-time at a psychiatric hospital because of tuition cost (thanks inflation), I can say that I am so thankful to always have one of your vids to turn to. Just taking 10-15 minutes to relax and and interact with other members of our community gives me hope and reminds me that there are other like-minded individuals out there and I’m not alone. So anyway, again thanks for not quitting 😅 it means a lot to me and know many others. ❤️

    "Public lynching." Pffffftttt
Don't let Arredondo cloud the issue. It's very simple. There is a district policy outlining the proper procedure during an active shooter incident. Arredondo helped write the policy. He violated that policy. Violating a school district policy is grounds for termination. It's as simple as that.
Did he save other lives? Perhaps. That's not the point, though. The point is he was supposed to be taking charge of a command center while his officers and other departments saved lives. Good on him for saving some kids personally, but that's not the issue. The issue is he violated district policy. That, in and of itself, is grounds for termination from any job anywhere, ever.
That said, Pete's second in command, Mike Hernandez, also needs to be fired. He violated district policy, too. If the chief was unable to set up the cmmand center then the responsiblity fell to him. He didn't do it. Also the principal knowlingly allowed doors to remain unlocked, also in violation of the policy. She needs to go as well. Violate the active shooter policy = termination. Simple as that.
