For real? The story here is that one company is going after another because they didn't pay. You're claiming there's no repercussions for companies not paying, but the story is literally about the repercussions of a company not paying.
It's exactly the same, lol. Generally the people who say "eat the rich" are kids and/or stupid progressives who don't understand how the world works, especially in a legal context.
In either a big corporate case or if we're just talking about individuals, if you don't pay them, they can come after you to collect their money. They can do this in a variety of ways, they can sell the debt to a collections company to harass you, or they can file a civil suit and have a subpoena served. In either situation it's exactly the same, and if found liable the party, be it a megacorp or an individual has to pay, or they're in contempt.
The example you use with insurance is absolutely no different. If a company doesn't pay their insurance, the insurance drops them. An insurance company can then go after them civilly to collect the money owed - JUST LIKE THEY COUDLD FOR YOU OR ME. It's not any different, it just seems different because you don't feel bad for the corporation like you would if it was an average guy.

There are options like only between known numbers or anyone. It’s super nice when you use it properly(between friends and family, or even a stranger that got a cool pic of
you while out), but you do have to go to your settings to turn off accepting it from everyone.
You have to specifically enable to option to receive airdrops from strangers. Its not set to receive airdrops from strangers by default.

I would love a video on the Chinese real estate crisis. That hasn't been covered nearly enough and most people don't know it's happening. It could have disastrous effects on the global economy.
A TL;DR version of it (from my understanding, I'm far from an expert on it) is that there has been a real estate boom in China that has been going on for decades at this point. Over the last 10 years or so, you had real estate developers who were selling undeveloped houses to consumers looking to invest in 2nd or 3rd homes. This by itself is not a big deal, real estate developers do that all the time. They'll get land to develop, sell houses that don't exist yet, and use the revenue to build the houses. These companies were NOT doing that. They were pocketing all or most of the money from the sales and using the land they kind of don't technically own anymore as collateral to get more loans from banks to buy more land and start the process all over again. It was a ponzi scheme. Eventually the problem got so bad that the government had to step in and (from what I understand) prevented the real estate developers from getting more loans.
The problem is that now, you have millions of people who own homes that don't exist, who have all decided to stop paying their mortgages. Because their houses don't exist, there's nothing for the banks to forcelose, and basically someone is going to end up having to hold the bag. The question is who.
If I had to choose, I'd say it should be the companies who should be holding the bag since it seems like they're the ones that caused this whole mess in the first place, but we both know it's gonna end up with the customers in the end anyway.
Thanks for this. Real problem I see in my industry here is over leveraging, essentially building a house of cards that if one thing goes wrong it All falls down. This is even worse than that.

There is a setting in airdrop that says “contacts only” so the option to airdrop to you wont even show up to people who aren’t in your phone. I had to se that up for my kids and parents after this happened when we were in a restaurant.

That Bliss Bar actually works. Our dog is very old. He's blind and almost totally deaf, now, and incredibly anxious. He'll snap at family he used to cuddle with, and overall seems a lot more nervous of the world around him. My grandparents moved his kennel into their bedroom to help his anxiety at night, and they've tried everything, including various anti-anxiety doggy meds from the vet. Nothing helped. The Bliss Bar did though! He acts so much more relaxed now. He'll come cuddle and sit in your lap and lick on you again, without having to worry about scaring him and getting bit. Highly recommend that shit.

A weird bit of pet knowledge I learned 8n Wisconsin a couple weeks ago:
Some online pet goods retailers sell or give away full truck loads of returned goods, including food. You have to take the full shipment and you cannot sell any of it, but the people I learned this from run a small rescue. They also have enough building space to store a full trailer of stuff.
They take what they need, toss the expired or irreparable, donate to the other local rescues and shelters, and still usually has stuff to hand out to their community!
I know the companies are definitely getting something, like insurance claims or tax breaks, but what an amazing thing to do nonetheless!
I wonder if this type of system can be expanded to human-focused charities as well. It seems like a good idea for everyone, the charities get a bunch of, mostly, new and good stuff while the companies donating get to write it off on their taxes.

agreed, funniest thing however is the gov's stance that this was local banks and criminal orgs while anyone who knows anything about china knows this has been pushed by the main national gov for years. its sad especially seeing those vids of the protests as they are all chanting for xi jing and his gov to save them from corrupt local officials, not knowing that this goes to the top. I've always thought transitions/stingers would add some extra polish to the show, but they should be less visually jarring and have their audio normalized at or below the loudness of the segments they separate. These ones are... a lot.

Airdrop is a great feature for sending files between local devices quickly. The problem is, most people set their airdrop to allow everyone to view their device. When you get an airdrop request, it shows you a preview of the image. Maybe they should censor explicit images…

You can use it to transfer files between friends. Consider a university student who wants to share files/notes with his colleagues. It’s the convenience aspect of not having to know your colleagues email or phone number. You just tap “share”, “airdrop” and find his device from the list of nearby devices (typically small)
Edit: I want to add that you can disable the feature so noone can airdrop to you, or only your contacts can airdrop to you. Plus the person receiving the file has to actually accept the transmission (though in case of photos they see a preview which may be… disturbing in the case of strangers nudes)
it's helpful for sharing photos amongst friends who say have a better phone camera quality than you and can send over 15 automatically to your photos app. i keep mine under contacts only though so i don't get images from random people
It’s a quick way of just sending something lol. I once wanted a picture of something in class, but I didn’t have the dude’s info nor did I have service so he just airdropped it. No need to exchange info. You can also change it so that it’s not all from random strangers. There is also the option to ignore it and not see it.

They are freezing bank accounts on purpose, not because of fraud and it's not just these rural people. They have been stopping citizens from converting their money to foreign currency or leaving the country and making passports harder to get too. They are falling apart internally from economic loss from covid, massive unemployment, extreme restrictions still being in place and crisis in major areas like real-estate, banks and infracture/transportation deals that didn't go as planned all adding trillions in debt. They need citizens money to keep up appearances.

Hey Phil, This will probably be my first time commenting on a PDS vid, I have been a long time fan of yours for as long as I can remember I remember being a senior in high school like 14 years ago and originally watching the phillyD show, the show that's not really a show. You have really helped inform my views and helped me to be critical in reviewing information. Now I am a case manager for low income families helping people obtain/ afford/ and maintain housing for themselves and their families. I appreciate you doing your best to maintain a business and also continue being unbias. I have moved a lot further left politically now, and find myself disagreeing more and more. but I think that's a good thing! I have always been able to at least understand your points and where you are coming from even if I wind up disagreeing and your coverage is still always pretty damned unbias! If your dog is having separation anxiety keep your dog in a covered crate. Their brain is not the same as ours and they are not capable of having memories unless triggered by external senses which is why they freak out by seeing things they associate with you. If you give them their own closed off dark space it triggers their dening instinct and greatly relaxes them and removes memory triggers. I know It seems bad to us but their brains work completely differently and it is actually worse to leave them out bc then they really do think you're abandoning them.
Hope that his lawyers, who gave the file back then and "verified" that those were the only files, get disbarred too.

Chinas real estate, foreign debt, banks, companies debt, extreme lockdowns, water shortages and government regulations breaking whole career sectors and causing capital flight, are all happening right now and they are like all of Americas worst ever experienced cases of the events 5 times larger and all happening at once. Things don’t look good tbh

@@theuser810 long term for China, yes. Their market is significantly more speculative and not really based in reality. It's been a massive Ponzi scheme for years, with a significant portion of the purchased housing completely unbuilt or only partially built. Some people are paying mortgages on properties that literally don't exist or are uninhabitable. The entire system was built to only work when there's significant growth, now that they already have entire ghost cities, values along with confidence are cratering, the whole thing is going to collapse like the house of cards that it is. There are very few valuable assets to slow the free fall. The 2008 bubble in the US at least had actual livable homes in places wherepeople wanted to live that were securing the bad debts. China has a much bigger problem at hand.

Normally it's the case, that the houses are build, but the owners can't pay the prices, so the the houses go to the banks and the amount of houses on the market goes up lowering the cost of housing overall.
Still not a good thing for the affected people, and people speculating with housing, but eh.
In China, the big building companies weren't building the houses though. They were taking the money they got from selling future properties and instead of building those properties turned around and bought more plots, rinse and repeat.

The reason being the fact that they’re the very top of the executive branch which is the only branch in charge of classified documents. the other 2 branches have no authority over those documents.

So I have sent random people airdrops… but I’m on a military base sending a meme that states “Even Jeff thinks your an asshole” with a picture of “Jeff” the “person” everyone in the government meets when they take their online cyber awareness training which instructs them to keep their personal devices as secure as possible. Keeping airdrop open is against that, it’s an easy and fun way to get people cognizant of their personal security. I also have a second pic sent that has instructions on how to change their settings.

Hey Phil, I’ve been a longtime viewer and I don’t love the new editing with these videos. The tone feels a little too comedic and loud for the severity of some of these stories. Still absolutely love the show, and I say this with the best intentions to you and the team
