Hey everyone :) If you are looking for a place to talk about The Bangles that's safe, welcoming and not focused on their looks I urge you to join us on Reddit. It's completely free and we would love to have like minded fans of The Bangles. ⤵️ www.reddit.com/r/TheBangles/
What a pairing! Beautiful tribute for Prince. I was there 4 years ago when they performed this. Can’t believe how time flies. We lost Prince 8 years ago. Blessed to have seen him in concert a few times. Will miss him always
As big a fan I am of the Bangles, I never really liked the song Manic Monday until I heard this version. Wow; the changed tempo, the solo piano for accompaniement, and the blending of the voices. Sometimes chaning the orchestration of a song reveals a beauty and allure not evident on the original version. Gorgeous. Susannah Hoffs' voice has a mature depth in this song I have never heard before. I would love to hear more of these two.
PRINCE was a dream...It ended in a nightmare. When does the nightmare end????I saw this when it was aired I believe it was live.I cried.Thankyou both😎🇺🇸👊Roll the rock
What a great soul this woman has. I was overseas during the Bangles debut and am now just rediscovering their music. I can listen to Susanna all night long.
I must say that I have enormous respect for you considering the manner in which I have made contact with you. I am very glad you are a fan of mine. May GOD bless you some more. I would love to have you a free ticket whenever am in your home zone and if am much free we can hangouts for dinner before my show, it always been a huge pleasure to have time with my fans before my event
Okay…is this one of those Nigerian scams? If not, I’ll fly to your venue just to watch you live. As far as dinner, I’m busy, just kidding. It would be an honor to sit and absorb your story, where you’ve been, where you’re going, dreams, nightmares:), etc. So, if this is a fictitious offer, someone got me, lol. If it’s for real, awesome possum.
I finally get to hear this version that Chris Martin and Susanna made. It was absolutely beautiful. You can tell that they rehearsed it till they reached perfection. The piano arrangement was lovely and gave it a melancholic feeling, in contrast to the original more upbeat version, true for a tribute to someone who is deeply missed. I have no words to describe Susanna's rendition. It was absolutely perfect. Her voice, sweet and mellifluous, even at 61, still evokes that "melt your heart" quality it had back in the 80s. Chris' harmonies, with his deeper range complemented Susanna perfectly. Chris and Susanna can be more than proud of this interpretation. Even Susanna was able to sing that awkward line that she tends to avoid, "come on honey, let's go make some noise", in a very feminine and provocative manner. I know Prince was observing them with pride in his heart and a smile on his face. I love you guys.
But some other fans said she should sung this alone they hated the chris here because he makes the song boring and depressing i read it on Facebook sue posted were she and chris performed
@@johnbriancatedrilla4028 I think it's relative. It's true the Bangles version is more upbeat, but it's also true that this was a tribute to Prince on the fourth anniversary of his death, so it was a sad occasion. Therefore, I found the more melancholic version very appropriate. Also, Chris Martin's voice was very deep so Susanna's voice really stood out. Maybe it would hace been nice that the Bangles had performed an accoustic version of "Manic Monday" instead, but the organizers invited Chris Martin because I think he had done other Prince tributes. So we had Susanna sing, accompanied by a very ugly Bangle replacement. I personally prefer the originals. But I personally liked this rendition for the occasion.
Susannas voice is sounding pretty damn good, I would say Even Better! Good version, too. Interesting combination of the beautiful lady, & Chris. Two great talents that have helped make these troubled times just that little bit better.
Being a teen in the 80’s I went to a lot of arena bands concerts but I also came of age in the pop culture MTV music period. Now in my 50’s I love to hear these iconic songs performed again. What a beautiful arrangement. I’m a big marching band and drum corps fanatic, as my son studied music education and became an instructor and teacher. I hope to hear an arrangement of this song someday on the field. Thanks for sharing.
One of my favourite all time songs. I love the 70s & 80s music but grew up on the otherside of the world now living in the UK. I've only caught up with the Bangles music the last year. I sure missed some great music. This song was great to listen to and made my night. Thanks for posting it! I love your voice Susan, so lovely to listen to.
Gary N funny, I was deployed to the European theatre during the early 80s and I too missed some fantastic music. While Eurovision was sweet, I’m thinking the melodic harmony to perfection of the Bangles is superior. I’m looking forward to the journey.
@@MrJmcrash Thanks for the reply Jim. I'm in the UK now and will remain so now but come from NZ originally having lived most of my life there. We missed out on a lot of music even Bucks Fizz. This last year or two I've found so much music I didn't know about. Along with the Bangles I am an avid ELO fan now. Funny how time changes everything.
Been a fan since I first heard her sing....boyhood crush to quiet time fantasies.....could watch and listen a really long time. Thank you for your music and your heart.
So this makes me believe in a "Chris Martin Fan Channel" - cuz we did already know, that Susanna Hoffs can sing this. Martin´s voice is such a beautiful counterpoint to Susanna´s magic.
Start solo slow then mix guitar with rhythm go on later add drums and congo with whatever instruments you prefer and go by make it little faster. It is a very nice song to perform in different levels-Mahesh Sri Lanka
Oddly sentimental and reflective, as though it is being sung by someone wistfully remembering "Manic Monday" from their youth when everyone after college is struggling to find their footing and scrambling to juggle life's responsibilities. I found it melancholy.
Ngl I teared up listening to this performance today. I was there when they performed this song at the Prince Grammy tribute. Next door was the memorial for Kobe at the Staples Center who died that weekend in a helicopter crash
SUPER DELICIOUS!!! HOFFS > IT'S THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL... BUT, I JUST DIDN'T LIKE "THE END" (😁😀😄)... IT SHOULD BE WRITTEN : IT WILL CONTINUE FOREVER IN THE HEARTS! 😘👏😘👏😘👏😘👏 from 🇧🇷 ...UHU!!!!

Chris this is a girls song , it’s about kissing Valentino , that’s princes , name for his private member as he had mad attempt to be her man . Stick to yellow !
Personally Susanna can do no wrong ever as far as I'm concerned. She's an angel. Chris Martin is another subject. He's the most depressing singer I have ever heard. Chris and ColdPlay together create serious negative feelings in me and I can't see how they wouldn't for everyone else also.
Jeeez, Chris Martin could sing the song Pharrell Williams Happy and it would sound depressing. Susanna is as usual an angle though. Susanna please don't collab with Chris any more....lol....

Susanna Hoffs Released & Unreleased Music just joined and I love the rules! I’m not very social media savvy and had to ask my son what’s the reddit:).
A good well written song will translate into any music style or tempo. Music is the backbone and the words are the interplay between the couple.
OMG LOVE this!!!!!!!
Will you marry me!🤟😍👍🌹❤🥰✌just kidding! You still beautiful and still sound amazing!
That’s safe? Lol

Susanna's voice is still incredible...after all these years
This song takes me back to time of my life where there were no worries or pain...My life is great now 60 yrs old but feels like I'm 35....
I was there for the Prince Grammy tribute. Loved this scaled down performance of this fun Prince song. Owned the 45 single back in the day.
I swear Susanna's voice gets better with time.
Everything about Susanna Hoff's got better over time.
She, and the band, are highly underrated musicians. She’s pretty special
Her voice and her incredible looks

This collab made the song purer, much more sentimental *goosebumps*
Incredibly sweet and stunning voice at 61. Susanna, you´re so beautiful... inside and out

Sounds great
this was my song when I was 11 ...sweet memories 🌼
Susanna has a comforting voice
This song is another timeless 80s classic,it brings back many happy times when i was a kid
De cualquier tono y forma que cante Susanna se escucha genial, y hermosa como siempre
Eres naturalmente bella. Por dentro y por fuera. Reflejas en tu mirada como eres como persona. Una abrazo desde el fin de mundo "Chile".
That is really lovely as a slower tune. I was 21 going on 22 when the original came out. Thank you! 😊❤❤
BEAUTIFUL!!
One word for this old on air radio DJ . " Perfect". It's the first time for me ? I've heard this quote ? Unplugged. Grazie. Buona notte.
Great job guys. Way better than you would expect from two voices and one instrument.
Great Susanna 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻god bless you!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹❤️

It's cute, listening to him try to play the piano.
She's gorgeous, and will be forever.
He's not trying to play the piano, he IS playing the piano!
Great version of this song thanks for sharing !

Chris didn’t butcher this Prince song, as he normally does with his covers. Susanna helped out big time. Nice rendition.
She saved it tbh
Is there more from this?

No contemporaneous video?
Quite good. Almost "it". Needed a little more practice though. 😑
