Funny you say this. I have epilepsy, and I’ve suffered more concussions than is healthy. It’s had an effect on my cognitive functioning….some, as you say. Music brings all my memories back, and it’s the only thing that can. It’s like my memories aren’t in a catalogue, but a musical library. I listen to music, I can access those memories. 🌹
With all the singers that sung this song none of them can match the true emotion that Susanna Hoffs puts into it. It almost makes me cry because I truly feel her deep feelings for the love she is singing it to. This is one of my favorite all time songs in the love category.

I thought kissing was better than dancing. The disc jockey came up with the idea of playing the track again with Susanna Hoffs because my dance partner had asked him to play it again and she was very charming and pretty. Somehow the dancing went , because I heard a very beautiful melody and had a very beautiful girl in my arms. I was very excited and I didn't know at the time how lucky I was. Later I regretted very much that I had so little desire to dance to this beautiful song with this girl in my arms.

Fair point, but the original recording was in G major and this version is in F# major, so she had to go down a half step now that she’s older.
