80s, Friday Night Videos, Saturday morning cartoons and After-school Specials. What a decade to grow up in.
Amen!
@RCSMindhadow
Freitag Nachtnews was a German adult comedy show!
If that were the whole of the 80s, sure, what a decade.
Yes those were the days that's when cartoons were good music and movies were good I'm glad we can listen to music here and watch old TV still reruns are way better than the new stuff
For the vast majority of us there is no prince or princess riding in to save us. There is just the grind and ourselves making it happen through hard work on our own
Does Elana Caceres from the group Boys World look like Young Susanna to you?
Yes, everything you said is very true, but please be thankful that you have the health to be able to take care of yourself. That's such a blessing, because when your health is gone no amount of money can buy it back. 😢
Nope, you're wrong. I'm here fighting for us all but it will take long till the changes get to you.
True, but there's a beauty in that, in the sense that if you succeed, the success is completely yours to enjoy! :)
You're clinically depressed my Grandma said 👨🦰
Here, January 27th Monday. I'm retired now. Remember those days and so grateful I don't have to go to work today! If you agree, let me know. Enjoy, cuz time goes so fast.
I am also retired and am loving it. I had to retire at 55 in March, 2019 due to disability at 55. Now I am 60, while I do miss teaching graduate school as professor... the mundane parts of the job are long gone. I don't miss them. Enjoy life to its fullest, even when your body "fails" you. I used to listen to Video during my 20's during my college years.
This song was written by Prince, what a non stop creative genius!

I always come back here to appreciate the charming Susanna Hoffs at the height of her beauty, heavenly voice and natural talent and to remember the good times of pop music. Yes, time has passed quickly and nostalgia is an inevitable consequence.

The 80s (& 90s) were the best years to be a kid/grow up. The best music, movies, sitcoms …there was enough technology to be exciting but still have human interaction. Things were hopeful. And the malls. I miss the malls so much. And the cheesy horror films- ‘Phantom of the Mall’ and ‘Lisa’ were my favorites
I do miss the 80's and I wish I could go back and start all over again starting with 1980 and go really slow. Anybody else.

Do you happen to know what other girl rock bands he wrote songs for?
@@maxinemcnichols1127 nope. Prince wrote the whole song all by himself. He gave it to Susana hoffs because he's wooing her at that time. And in the end she turned him down because she doesn't wanted to be part of Prince's harem. I knew it because of MTV when it was relevant before.

Susanna’s eyes are works of art
Another great piece of songwriting by Prince Rogers Nelson, who was humble and wise enough to realize the song didn't suite his style and gave it to a band that could do something great with it.
This reached #2 on The Top 100. #1, at the same time was a song
called 'Kiss', which was also written by Prince. The man was on
another level with regard to an ability to write songs in different

Great song written by Prince. What a gifted musician he was!
Three ladies in this group, 2 sisters and another lady, I think. One of them is Susanna Hoffs. This is bright and energetic, catchy stuff. Prince wrote for them too, and jumped on stage to play with them more than once! And listen to the total clarity and pureness of the lead singer's voice..........wow! Harmonies are great..........unlike many groups, they did the harmonies at the same time on the same track in the studio, not on separate tracks. Did you hear the interjected line, "C'mon honey, let's go make some noise!".....PRINCE's footprint!
Four ladies actually but you're right about the sisters
Mike: Thanks for the correction! Some amazing people like you who know music in various ways comment on You Tube. Some slosh here too, but it's cool to find people like you. Thanks again.
dude this was when tape was the way, all analogue and if you know anything about tape you have to get it right. I think it made the musicians more aware of recording back then. Digital is cool and convenient but its not analogue. you couldn't just stop and yell punch like in pro tools these days. i love pro tools and it sure makes tracking easy but i do prefer the warmth of analogue.
You is the dude, coley22. You is de producer, engineer, the whole shebang. I is none of that. I play keyboard and sing harmony. Help! I have a Yamaha Motif XS 7 keyboard, and it came from Musician's Friend with a postcard that said, "How to Promote Your CD". But the manual is a maze of "see page 33" stuff in the middle of explaining stuff, and on page 33 when you read that, it'll say "see page -23". Their 800 nos. in USA and Canada never have anyone in the know answer, and the blogs are a mess. Bottom line: How do I figure out even how to split the keyboard or layer sounds on this sucker, let alone do tracks, enhance them, blend them, produce them, and make a song or LP on a CD? PS: Saw Paul MACAAAA perform on TV a few years ago. At the time, his keyboard guy used the same keyboard as my Yamaha "monster". (My band calls it 'The Monster'). Thanks in advance, even in you don't write!!
***** actually im a guitar tech for guns n roses!! But i have recorded a few records. The motif is cool but out of date technology. it came out around the same time as the triton if my memory serves me right.

Maybe that is why they look fashionable now. ?Also 80's entertainment (because of MTV/VH1 was absolutely incredible) but 'only' the entertainment. And if cable TV was available to you. Economics, poverty, government spending, disease, drugs were all at levels that destroyed generations of people that our government did nothing about. Song was most definitely meant to be performed by The Bangles, not Apollonia 6. FYI Prince plays all instruments on this -- The Bangles just augmented & overlaid their own bass, guitar, drums, & vocals over Prince's original tracks. You can still hear Brenda & Jill's background vocals from the Apollonia 6 version.
Yes prince bowie michael
Playing this now for my grumpy teenage daughter on a Monday morning while she's getting ready for school.

Randomly this song plays in my head. I must of heard it in the 1980’s as a child.
I wish music was still like this in 2020 anyone with me

Ronnie Kray Kemp, so sad Simon Colin Blackpool Christmas teapot Bennett! Thanks for being my landlord in 1990! I felt very uncomfortable moving to Gatwick on my own! Thanks to Helen and my brother Cameron engineer Jon for eating all my food and drinking drinks 🍸! When he got mugged, I ran a mile from broad field! Too rough for me! Used to love your phone and billing system! We only saw you briefly as you were flying so much and on long trips around the world. Always wanted your job but never got there. Oh well 😔
frank Satira Peter catera Emil Jon? Or Francis lyt ? 😳🤭 🚨 must check my cameras! 💤🤷🏻♀️
I agree!
I'm still convinced I am culturally an 80s child trapped in the 90s.
Another great feel good song from the 80's! Wish we could go back sometimes...
Shout-out to Prince RIP. He wrote this.
Also, I had a major crush on Susanna Hoffs. Like most other teen boys.
