It's almost hypnotic and now i cant unhear it!

Leave it to Prince to write the perfect pop tune. Thank you Bangles for bringing this song to life, and thank you BJ Armstrong for the great covid cover!
Another great piece of songwriting by Prince Rogers Nelson, who was humble and wise enough to realize the song didn't suite his style and gave it to a band that could do something great with it.

Song was most definitely meant to be performed by The Bangles, not Apollonia 6. FYI Prince plays all instruments on this -- The Bangles just augmented & overlaid their own bass, guitar, drums, & vocals over Prince's original tracks. You can still hear Brenda & Jill's background vocals from the Apollonia 6 version.

Classic song, classy girl band, written by the one and only Prince..just hits the ❤
You can tell Prince wrote this from the melody in the verses sounding just like 1999.
love them! susan was amazing!😊
Yeah totally!!
My boyfriend was whistling 1999 after we just watched an amazing Prince Tribute, and I thought he was whistling Manic Monday. I told him so and he didn’t hear it at all so I came here for support. SO glad someone else hears it!
You are on the money. Totally hear it now
he played synthesizers and piano on the record so yer
THANK YOU!
Always think of this song on Mondays still listening in 2024
October 7th 2024
@@cathietidmore9999 Listen to yesterday Monday the 2nd of Dec. I like it anytime!!!
Me too!!!😂😂😂
Hard to believe this is 30 years old already. Scary how fast the years go by.
+bax323 Yes, a long distance of time. And true, years go so fast, and with them the youth end and only survive good memories of the past and this music remind us that.
+bax323 They still play this song on the morning radio in the UK on mondays! LOL. We're all driving to work and S. Hoffs' velvet voice is siren-songing about Mondays! LOL
+bax323 bloody hell - that maks me 50 - OMG......
+Stevie Sparkie haha im only 14 my mom plays all these old songs and i love them
yup no.2 hit April 1986 thirty years ago written by Prince who also had no.1 hit that week with Kiss where did my youth go I was 24 then......ugh
子供の頃よく聴いた曲のひとつ、未だにたまにカラオケで歌ってるわ
It's like going to heaven. That's probably how angels sing.
Hasn't she just got the most gorgeous unique voice
Everything about her is gorgeous😊
Brings me so much nostalgia remembering back when I was growing up with my brothers and sisters. Happy and innocent days of my life.
0:34 Parece que Susanna tenía un poco de mal carácter y no le gustaba que la gente la atropellara cuando caminaba .😅❤. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
This is one of those songs that will never age. Literally, every Monday that I'm clocking in at work, I can hear this song in my head 😂
Faccttss 😂, and here I am playing it on a Monday! 😂
💨💨💨
Yes Prince knew what he was doing and this song would be a hit years later.
😢😢😢😮😮😮 0:49
Susanna Hoffs doesn't age either
This song holds so many memories for me that it gives me a touch of sadness. This song has become so beautiful and timeless♥️
Boomer
Prince wrote this
@denise949..Still feel that way..?..(cuz, the way you put it, is just how I feel too.)🎉.🎈😪..it was a magickal time..!!
I listened to this song when I was a kid for the first time in my dad now I’m 25.
The more I listened to this song, the more I liked!!
Every my Monday starts from this song.
Love this song from Japan❤️
JESUS IS LORD
Indiscutible mente,y sin duda alguna, Susana sigue siendo una dama Hermosa❤ tiene muy buena voz
Pure 1980s. The best songs ever!! Glad I was in my entire twenties for that whole decade. It was a wonderful decade.
1988
Prince loved women so much - thanks for letting them have your tune, brother.
💪🤪😘
takes me back to my Bauer skate days......
She is just ridiculously gorgeous
she is smoking hot and she aged very well
She is forever beautiful!
December 9, 2024. These women are still beautiful inside and outside. 2024. Happy Holidays ⛄🎄🥳
30 years later .... and damn... Susannah Hoffs can still light the entire forest on fire just by walking by.
AliG1964
Great comment! lol
AliG1964 Have you seen her recently ..... Oh my god .... Just as beautiful but in a more sophisticated way... She's aged gloriously.
An Epic 80's track that still shines bright. Prince R.I.P.
These girls never get old. Amazing vibes. Such memories of the '80s!!
They will get old one day
i miss the 80s i love the 80s
@@cherylstevens4717 So will we all. But Hoffs @64 in 3wks looks better/younger then most my Age(54)
@@cherylstevens4717 The OP likely meant the band's music and vibe never gets old, not the members. But if you must make it about age, they're looking good in their 60s, especially Susanna.
I LOVE 80s
I’m still liking this song back from I was a kid , times flies to fucking fast 😢
I miss the people that were here then
Heartbreaking to remember them as I listen to this song
The Bangles, despite their dreamboat looks, were a serious band that busted their asses for years before achieving success. Great, hard-working musicians.
Serious musicians - so true. Just happened to be drop dead beautiful as wel!!
@Calpurnia L Micheal Steele had it going on too. But you're right I'll always come back to Susanna.
@@brandonallen3289 With you on steele runs hoffs close in this video for me.
Shout-out to Prince RIP. He wrote this.
Also, I had a major crush on Susanna Hoffs. Like most other teen boys.
This song is timeless, as long as a Monday exists this song will never die. Remember it as a kid and still love it just the same now.
Do you think group has the potential to be the next bangles? ruclips.net/video/E37ey84cvRI/видео.html
I play this every Monday when I have to take the bus to college. It truly is the Opening Theme to the Week.
Exelente tema, clásico que nunca pasarán de moda, gracias por compartir este gran ejemplar video
This song peaked at #2 on the billboard charts. The song that kept it from being number 1 was another prince song. 🔥 💜
I just laughed, everyday I get surprised by the power Prince had in those days. Jacko was not even close to
LOVE the Bangles! Brings me back to the 80's, wish like hell we were all still there. Life has changed immensely since then. It's sad, I miss the 80's like crazy!!
33 years ago today this song was released. Happy birthday.
the 80s seems like yesterday, well i did just wake up from a coma i ve been in for 30 years.

brian simpkins same, im 18 years old now but i like 80's songs.
I was a teen in the 80s and it was great.
It was an incredible decade of music that was so different from the others!
Just the best!
riverralph hey, how did all turn out, are you like 50 now?
My GENERATION, Susan Hoffs, you are an ANGEL
REST IN PRINCE!
Brings me back to 6th grade when my math teacher who was obsessed with 80s music played this on Mondays. Made my day so much brighter(and got me obsessed with 80s music).
I hope your fellow classmates also appreciated these 80s classics.
Was your teacher a Gen-Xer or simply enjoyed that music era?
Susannah Hoffs is such a pleasure to look at. What a pretty girl and lead singer
That's one of the rumors, prince had an crush on the lead singer/
@@ominous-omnipresent-they damn...I can only imagine then...damn...
@@samgruber119 Just Google search Susannah Hoffs in her panties.
Sam Gruber wtf
@@ominous-omnipresent-they Yep, saw the one in front of the mirror...pretty big ass for her petite size.

Yes prince bowie michael
I was at work today and just starting thinking of Susanna Hoff out of the blue...... made me smile.
I wish music was still like this in 2020 anyone with me

Ronnie Kray Kemp, so sad Simon Colin Blackpool Christmas teapot Bennett! Thanks for being my landlord in 1990! I felt very uncomfortable moving to Gatwick on my own! Thanks to Helen and my brother Cameron engineer Jon for eating all my food and drinking drinks 🍸! When he got mugged, I ran a mile from broad field! Too rough for me! Used to love your phone and billing system! We only saw you briefly as you were flying so much and on long trips around the world. Always wanted your job but never got there. Oh well 😔
frank Satira Peter catera Emil Jon? Or Francis lyt ? 😳🤭 🚨 must check my cameras! 💤🤷🏻♀️
I agree!
I'm still convinced I am culturally an 80s child trapped in the 90s.
Susanna Hoffs is 65 today! (Jan. 17, 2024). Happy Birthday! 27 in Jan. 1986, when originally released to peak at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100!
Wow she's an aquarius too. Jan-23 here
I didn't realize Hoff was nearly the same age. She still rocks!
And still a babe.
And she is still beautiful, if other ladies would leave the plastic surgery alone they would look so much better.
Oh my Sussana Hoffs was an 80’s goddess of epic proportions!!!
Exactly!
the best .

One of the most relistenable songs. I've heard it thousands of times and it never, ever gets old.
