    No nonsense Takeoff guide for all aircraft:
    1: smash throttle to 100%
    2. Quickly jump to external view, check there’s loads of 🔥 n shit coming out the back.
    3. Wait til your goin well fast, pull back on the stick a bit until you start flying.
    Works every time for me.

    • @maxwaechter4663
      @maxwaechter4663 Год назад +2

      It´s used to be able to keep the engines running at slightly higher rpm so in case of a go around the spool up time of the engines is reduced and the airplane responds faster to the throttle inputs. Also retracting the airbrake in that situation also gives a quick reduction in drag and increases acceleration.

    I'm a huge combat FS junkie from the past. MS combat sim.. Chuck yeager flight sim.. and a bunch of others. I bought DCS a year ago and played 5 hours.. I had NO idea what I was doing and hence I got owned fast and uninstalled it. I found this video serious and I will recommend this to any one I see to get started. This is a PERFECT series and done extremely well in a way any Combat Flight sim person can digest! Thanks CAP! I used to play in a battlefield 4 clan years ago and that was some of the best gaming years ever. Looking forward to doing that with you guys too.

    Thanks Cap, believe it or not that was a great help. The only FC3 content that I have some practised experience with is the SU25T, I've always had problems blowing tires on the F15C and bleeding off too much speed on approach. As I have other hi-fidelity aircraft, I've tended to just put this one in the 'not interested / too hard (with all the keybinds)' bracket. Your simple tutorial has somewhat lifted the veil on what should be first principles for this fighter.

    Nice video and good of you to mention aerobraking, it's a very common method for a plane as wide as the Eagle.
    Just one remark, the AOA indexer in the cockpit has a notch at 21 units, which indicates the ideal AOA for touchdown (while flaring). Note that both the HUD AOA reading and the gauge in the cockpit display "units" that are roughly half of a real degree.
    Edit: another comment has the exact "units"-to-degrees conversion expression.

    One thing, and I'm not sure if you mention it later on in this video Cap, but the F-15 in particular, has a lot of lift producing surfaces. The main fuselage itself produces enough lift to take the plane off without any main wings. This is, in part, why very light degree of rotation is needed on take off. There's an account of an Israeli pilot returning his plane to his homebase after having loss an entire wing, just using rudder and pitch controls.

    You forgot to mention the probably most important thing; "SET T/O TRIM" - there is a button for that (I have mapped it to "T" in all my planes). I don't know if T/O trim is set when you start a new game, but if you have been up and adjusted trim, you should definitely use "T".

  • @kerrylogan2978
    @kerrylogan2978 Год назад

    As seen way too many times, during my time in service, pilots may set the gear handle to "Up" before takeoff roll. Once weight off the wheels is sensed, the gear will automatically retract. The only sad caveat is: if you experience an issue with the flight controls or a sudden loss of power and you try to abort the takeoff, you are scraping the bottom of the plane or wing tanks, instead of the gear still being down, as intended by the engineers. Many pilots were reprimanded for the bad habit of lifting the landing gear handle, before takeoff roll.

    As an actual pilot, I couldn't ever understand why anybody would pull the stick further back than what is specified. It's not like the plane would just roll off the runway on its rear wheels...
    Furthermore, going overboard with the ascend rate just bleeds speed or burns fuel unneccessarily. Patience is a virtue. Especially when you have to be patient for 5 friggin' seconds.

    • @Carlos27thFS

      Well you want to bind, landing gear, flaps and air brakes and wheel brakes. Then bind flares/chaff and ECM and ejection. Then bind the cursor for the radar as in moving it up/down/right/left. Bind radar on button and a lock target button. Bind the trigger for cannon and a button for weapons fire ( missiles). The you need weapons cannon, sidewinder, aim 7 and aim 120. Then jettison tanks and weapons.

    TOTAL NOOB HERE - I just got in the F-15. Yes, on TO mine wants to drift horribly to the left at about 125kts or so and it's extremely difficult to correct. So I just rotate to get up as quickly as I can but risking a tail strike. Not to my liking but will practice it more and see what I can do about it. As for landing it's been difficult but I *think* I've got it after cracking her up some 12-15 times. I approach flaps down at about 160kts/2 degrees, cut power and hit air break right before touchdown. Once down keep nose up and then when it down pump breaks. If you are lined up pretty well just don't use any rudder at all. I made a video just last night doing this ruclips.net/video/3fvzu7kha7s/видео.html

    Lots of bad advice in this outdated video, valued viewers. If some of it isn't making sense to you it is not your imagination.

      @@grimreapers If I couldn't bear to view something I was responsible for I certainly wouldn't leave it up for presentation to all. That would be senseless in my world.

    Absolute shitshow.
    Standard take off is half stick aft at 120kts until nose is at 10deg.
    Pilot MUST bring up flaps, you don't leave them to blow up by themselves - most consequences are not modeled, but they do induce a bunch of drag.
    Landing is shameful. Standard landing is 2.5-3 deg glideslope (flight path indicator right between zero and -5 on pitch ladder WHILE also on rwy threshold cross-check is 300'/nm above rwy altitude) AND maintain 21 units AoA (NOT 20, not 22, right on 21!).
    For the flare, transition the FPM to the landing point once in ground rush, then to the end of the runway. Keep the throttle in until you're on the ground - doubly important in a heavyweight aircraft.
    Your landing is too steep even for an emergency landing and just asking for an accident to happen.
