The organ sounds fantastic! It usually gets overtaken by the orchestra.

Yes, the organ really comes through here and sounds fantastic. Same problem can occur with the Eighth Symphony, too. 😎🎹

Unbelievable. Do you not hear what happens at 42 sec?

Organ surely must be part of the sound. Here it dominates for me. Not optimal

@@AndreyRubtsovRU Think about where the video is being taken from. It's right behind the orchestra and in front of the organ so of course it will come through a lot more.

@@AndreyRubtsovRU I agree. The organ shouldn't dominate during this piece since some of the chords cut off on awkward beats, which just makes the sound feel empty until the organ comes in again. When the orchestra and organ blend well, you can barely tell if the organist is playing or not.

@@Maddenhawk ya. But 2 is overkill on this and you can't hear the bones or horns. 12 horns, 6 trumpets, 4 bones and a tuba. Then the 1 time you need the tuba he lets it be a solo so loud you can't hear the timpani with it.
I'm a tuba player and it's too much.

Ich mag Mahler, ich verehre Dudamel, aber ihre Aufnahmetechnik ist sparsam! NÖ! 👎
