He clearly hears the score in a different way than everybody, even most trained musicians. Absolutely every note is an expressive opportunity for him, and so the piece comes alive like never before.
I believe he might be the most important musician living right now. The way he reaches youth and resurrects these compositions is completely astonishing. People will be talking about him 100 years from now.
Magnificent! Thank you, Gustavo! We need more of these rehearsal films. Let everyone see the fine work you do and the orchestra learning to give itself to the music.
2:38 The best definition of how feels the musician when play in public. La mejor definición de cómo se siente el músico cuando toca en público, so excited 😊
I heard a MASSIVE difference in their playing after he spoke to them about nervousness. Their sound just opened up and was so much fuller. That part of the movement is NOT easy to keep a sense of movement before the climax, but they pulled it off beautifully.

Gustavo Dudamel ha la sensibilità di sentire la partitura in modo diverso anche dai musicisti più esperti. Ogni nota è un'opportunità di espressività per lui, e quindi dona la vita al brano come se fosse la prima volta!
I haven’t been in a symphonic band for a while, and I’ve never been in an orchestra....but I’ve learned so much from you through these videos...gracias Maestro.
I tend to prefer student orchestra performances because they are never routine and the conductor feels obligated to get more deeply involved. The result is almost always more fresh, visceral and meaningful than that of your typical professional ensemble.
@@hughanthony2001 Perfect way to put it. I feel the same way with Shostakovich's 4th symphony. The emotion is just unbelievably overwhelming for a piece of music.

It’s the difference between playing the music and feeling the music. It is passionate and emotional. ❤
It’s some other sense between hearing and feeling

"Violas, relax."
Violas you taught you are violins for one second. Return to reality.

love it..
His experience working with young people really shows here. His rehearsals with adult orchestras are different. Bravo, Maestro.
4:13 Do you hear the tone of the lower brass?! Incredible!!!! They've got some really talented musicians back there.
rumor has it, that's where zimmer gets all of his motivation from LOL
I mean... this is Harvard...
Dudamel is such a wonderful teacher!
Gustavo Dudamel.. how lucky are we to be alive to see this man conduct. He is a genius. His explanation to the orchestra is on point.

My body got tense at the last piece. Fantastic sound.
Excellent Teacher. Bravo Maestro Dudamel.
I've been waiting for this maestro for years.
absolutely fabulous-- you feel the music trembling in your veins ..

Why always the 5th?
I always thought that the 8th was the true 5th and it is never being performed.
Because of the historical significance. The 8th is too brutal for most people to deal with (and I love both).
