Why is actually doing it never as easy as RUclips? What I found that really helped a lot for the bottom step and plate (installing it back on the ladder), was to fold a towel and wedge between the base of the bottom of the ladder and the hatch. This allowed me to work alone, create a good position from hatch and easier to line up holes. I kept it in place after that to drill the first hole.
It’s a great point! It has not been a problem but over years in a back weather I think it could be. Toyota Corporation is going to start selling them in the new year and we are going to include a bottle of touch up paint with it.
We have not worried about it here in Arizona over the last couple of years . But we just did a new video for the people that will want to use touch up on the 2 holes that are drilled. We also have a paper template to guarantee the holes are drilled in the proper location.
I've looked at these type of ladders for my 4Runner several times but then I realize that standing on the rear tires accomplishes the same thing for both side of the vehicle.
Not sure but thank you for reaching out to us. Please contact us and we will get a new bracket sent out to replace yours. We are all about our great customer service and warranty!👍

what is the spray cleaner your using before the application?
We just clean off the surface with rubbing alcohol.
Do you make it for 2007 Honda Pilot
Do you worry about having any rust issues by not putting a little paint over your freshly drilled holes? Nice video!

A dab of silicone would work too
