    Do you have a video explaining the differences between the usage of your Modular’s rack and this low profile rack. Thank you and I’m sure this has been answered before.

    Looks great, seems like a strong build quality but where I think all aftermarket roof racks fall short is the seals for mounting solutions where the OEM has a 3 proof seal from leaking. This setup is pooling all the water in the factory location not to mention your exposing the rubber seals on the nuts to the elements, until I see these issues addressed to be waterproof set and forget its a pass for now.

      Yea, poor looking design for the mounting into the roof, is a pass for me too.

    Would love to see a rubber standoff solution for the roof mounting points somewhat akin to the Sherpa racks.
    Otherwise this is a really clean looking install!

    About the pull the trigger on one of your lift kits and leaning towards this rack for my wife’s new rig. Two questions, will the sunroof still be able to tilt up? Secondly, can a crossbar be removed to allow for open air over the sunroof? Thanks!

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  7 месяцев назад +2

      It will allow for tilt and full function. Some people do remove the cross bar for full visibility when looking out through the sun roof

    Will this work with an iKamper RTT? Or would I need the taller version? Also given that the RTT takes up all of the up top real estate of the rack, what would be options for side mounting a couple other accessories? Thank you!

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  Год назад +1

      Many different options but IKamper will work on both the low profile and the modular rack. If you are running the ladder then you will need to push the camper forward so clear the ladder when hatch is open.

    Is there a reason people do not install the two long side rails to the roof first then install all of the cross bars? I always see people build the entire rack on the ground first and then bolt the assembled rack to the roof.

    • @rudetoy8264
      @rudetoy8264 8 месяцев назад

      You’ve got 9 chances of scratching the roof when you installing cross bars. Assemble the whole rack on the ground give you visual clue if something not align correctly and remedy the problem where you can reach it. Some 4x4 are very tall and difficult to assemble piece parts on vehicle smooth top

    What is the weight capacity for this low profile roof rack?

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  Год назад

      More then the roof on the 4Runner! But the roof starts to change shape at the mounting points at about 700lbs. We are going to do a failure test on the roof rack and should be around 1700-1800 lbs.
