*Here it is: MY TOP 5 (well actually 6) products to treat KP.* Please watch the full video as I explain how to choose products that will work best for KP, the must have ingredient for all KP skincare routines and my top 5 recommended KP products. Also bare in mind these products are all drugstore or online products that you don't need a prescription for. (KP is a chronic condition and for severe or resistant cases you may require prescription medication). Thank you all for the views on my previous videos. I'm so pleased you found them educational. Let me know what products are you using and how you are getting on with them.
The ingredients in the *CeraVe SA smoothing cleanser (UK)* and *CeraVe SA body wash (US)* are almost identical except for 2 ingredients. The US version also contains corn oil and cholecalciferol (vitamin D). You may use either for KP. :-
*Any questions are welcome - as usual* 😊
Good afternoon Doc
Thank you for this information on Kp.
Can I use all 3 CeraVe products at the same time?
Hi, You're welcome. Yes you can especially if you are using them on skin other than your face because the skin is generally thicker. I would start with the cleanser and SA cream and then add in the retinol if you are not seeing enough results after about 4 weeks. i would also introduce the retinol gradually using it 2-3 times a week initially to start with. If you start to get irritation such as flaking of the skin, dryness or redness from using the retinol, (this is an acclimatisation period) I would cut down to once or twice a week and gradually build up from there. On the face, I would start with the cleanser in the morning and the retinol at night.
@@DrSimiAdedeji thank you so much for responding, I have already started with the sa cream a few days ago after watching your first video on Kp,I will try the other products and update you on my results.
@Cheyroll Excell Thats great! Can't wait to hear how you get on. Remember that patience is key, and consistency in use. Also it can take time to find the product(s) that work best for your skin which is why I give information about the *key ingredients* to look for and also why I suggest several products.
Thanks Dr. Simi, what do you think about Retinol from Ordinary?
After watching this, I started using the Cerave SA Smoothing Cream. It’s been a few weeks and I already see improvement, both in pigment and texture! Thank you so much!
wow thanks! i'm def getting one
Where to use? On face is safe?
@@Zk-bf1mg yea it is safe the cerave is safe but idk about the other products:)
Hi , it's been a while now since you are using this product. Can you share ur feedback so that it will b helpful for us
How do you use it? Because it does nothing for me ;(
This is why black doctors are so important I have this but I’ve never heard of this until today
@@NadaII stfu
@@NadaII i get what you mean here sort of! I first learned about KP from a white doctor But Im black and dark skinned, so its really cool to find out what products work for my skin from a doctor thats my skintone! :D hope i made sense lol
I didn't realized I had it either until a few weeks ago. I thought it was freckles! And, I'm in my forties. Anyway, I always knew my skin and scalp were sensitive and couldn't use a lot of products but I just thought I had sensitive skin. SMDH
And what she does really well is explain what skin conditions look like on different skin colours
My son have that and that first time someone mentioned to us it was Caucasian and recommend that same thing this beautiful doctor is sayin SO color have nothing to do💕
CeraVe SA lotion for Rough and bumpy skin (US) along with iHeart turmeric and clove natural soap . I also take cold showers and sometimes lukewarm .Has erased my KP Smooth my skin and make it soft.
How do you use the turmeric?
What is your skin tone?
I suffer from KP around my arms and I remember a couple years back when I searched up how to treat it, every RUclips video would say it’s protein/keratin build up. You made it sooo much more understandable, thank you for emphasizing that it’s the build up of dead skin and in those dead skin cells there are keratin (something like that). Very informational & thank you for the tips/advices. 😌💗
This is the BEST video I've seen on the condition, not to mention one of the few accurate ones. Thank you Dr. Adedeji-subscriber for life here. Thank you!
I study chemistry at school , and you confirm me that a want to pursue my study in this filed! So interested, Love u channel, plus you are a black docter on RUclips I can identify myself ! You got a new subscriber ! Love from France ❤️
Can you please talk about the inner thighs (bump as well as hyperpigmentation ) especially for sensitive skin and heavy people after pregnancy
Omg yes, I am incredibly insecure about hyperpigmentation in between my thighs. And I've tried everything.
I have it in my inner tights
Weight has nothing to with it. I am in recovery from anorexia, when I was at 79.3 pounds (keep in mind I'm 5 foot 4) i still had hyper pigmentation.
this video is so helpful! i’ve always went to doctors but they either didn’t know what i had, or the recommendations didn’t work. i’ll definitely try these and see!! 🤩🤩
You have such a beautiful voice! I can listen to you all day🤗
I love this video and confirms that my new skin care routine will work. I always had amazingly soft skin in my teens and 20's, but in my 30's I've developed KP. For the past few weeks I've been using a salicylic acid serum with vitamin C, a salicylic acid exfoliating cream for the shower, and I've been mechanically exfoliating with a sponge. I mosturize daily, but I don't exfoliate daily, but a few times a week. I'm already noticing quite an improvement, although I still see little dots but they're not bumpy anymore but possibly more like a left over scar that hopefully will fade.
i love this channel so much really refreshing to see a very smart evidence based video from a fellow black woman
Great video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful!☺️
Can you please tell me in what order to apply ?! Because I don’t want to mess up my skin even more please! And love your videos ❤️
Beautiful video, this came up in my recommendation, thanks doctor.
Thanks Dr for this informative video, could you do a video on sunscreen products especially for sensitive skin. Many thanks
I been told im dirty cuz i have this 🙄😒 thanks for explaining what this is and what i need to get to cure it. Im buying all these products 😁
I'm so sorry that you have experienced such negativity as a result of KP. 😠 One of the reasons why I make these video is to educate people. Anyone who tells you that you are dirty for having KP is not educated about KP- show them this video! 😁 Remember though, that products and treatments do not cure KP- but they can improve and reduce the appearance of it. ❤️
I have been using the Cerave SA cleanser and cream for about a month. They work great for my KP! Thank you so much 💕
Hi. How do you use it? Week frequency? day and/or night? Dry/damp skin? Help a sis…
@@lareinedudiphop hey! Sorry I’m just seeing this 😅 I use it daily! It really works! 🥰
@@lareinedudiphop also, on damp skin!
Love you & your Chanel so much! Thanks for all the info it’s so helpful!! 😃💗💗💗
Finally a good video about KP
I came to look for car accessories and came across your videos, so helpful thank u. I will try some of your methods and see how it works out.
thanks doc! im in love in the way you talk and explain everything!.. very informative.thanks a lot!.. more power and god bless.
Amazingly explained. Thank you so much Dr!
Thank you Dr Simi I have learnt so much listening to you
Hi I love your videos, can you make a step by step routine of how to get rid of KP, and how to layer all of these products
thank you for this. I am so glad i found your channel.
I love you voice when you explain
I developed KP when I turned 20 and it has gotten worse every year since. I am now 24 and it is shocking. I cant wear anything that shows my arms or back. I have it all over my upper back, legs and all down my arms it even goes down to my wrists. I have very fair skin so the redness and bumps are extremely noticeable. Ive tried laser and creams and nothing has worked for me :( It controls my life
DR ADEDEJI ! You are awesome.
One for the FACE please?
I wish cera v was cruelty free. Got excited when I went to their website and it said they were and then there was the, except from countries where animal testing is required by law! Hopefully they'll follow suit of dove, tresseme, simple etc and get peta or leaping bunny certified. In the meantime, I'll search for cruelty free products that have these ingredients. Thanks for the video and info, much appreciated xx
Hi I’m light to medium skin.
Can I still use this products?
Thank you this is the best videos I’ve seen about KP
I really enjoyed this video. Can you tell me in what order to use these products. And how often. Thanks
The Cerave salycilic acid lotion works like Woah. My bum is so smooth. Paula's choice didn't really work for me but I guess I wasn't consistent. Easier for me to remember to put on lotion than an exfoliating toner.
thank you so much. God Bless!!!
You're welcome!
That's very helpful tips DR.Simi thanks for sharing ..
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I have been waiting for you and I love the pictures! I'm glad you brought up sensitivity as well because I have dry and sensitive skin and no one really brings up the 2 together. SUBSCRIBED
Edit: also glad you told us how to use some products. I was wondering about that too
Hello Dr. Simi. Love this video. Can you do a video about what products to use to lighten dark elbows, dark knees and dark inner thighs near the bikini area. I've always wanted celebrity looking hydrated skin with no pigmentation. 😊
I really hope Dr. Simi will do a video on this. This is an issue I’ve suffered with for a long time, I’ve always wondered how celebrities have clear bikini area & mine is dark I don’t like looking at it at all.
Hello Dr Simi I happened to stumble upon your videos nd I really liked it can you suggest something for hyperpigmentation on face love from India
Hi plzz recommend Indian product in replacement above mentioned product
Thank you so much for these videos!
Since both the CeraVe cleanser and the cream have salicylic acid, do you suggest using both the CeraVe Cleanser and the Cream in combination or should one start with one or the other? Many thanks!
Omg I just found out about your channel! You are so amazing! I have a very irritated, dry skin and I am going to follow your tips and try some products. Can you also make a video on dry face skin and recommend some products ? A video about dry scalp would also be very helpful. Greetings from Holland!
Thank you doctor Simi, my 7years old girl has KP, what can she use
Hello Dr is this product is it recommended for light skin
Hallo Doctor Simi, please what can I use for mole in my neck. I have see a doctor but nothing is done about it.
Thank you
I take cosentyx for psoriasis also helped my KP
You’re a LIFE saver
Nice information, what do u suggest for a 4 year old who suffers from kp
Please does keratosis Pilaris cause itching after shower?
Have had pruritus after shower almost all my adult life, and have dry skin with KP on my thighs and bums . Confused if they are related..
Hi. Thank you for this video. Feedback: Pls include chapters or numbers that are visible when skimming through the video.
You are brilliant!❤️❤️❤️
I have been using the Cerave SA Cleanser with my bath mitts and the SA Cream out of the shower. If I add the Retinol Serum, does it go after pat dry and before the SA Cream?
I need some help, I have keratosis pilaris all over my face especially in my t zone.
Any advice for the face would be greatly appreciated.
Would you please explain about PR pitryasis roses. Thank you
Can I just use the cerave smoothing cream or I have to combine it all
Thank you for this wonderful video. I suffer from KP mostly on my outer thighs and buttocks. My question is I’m what order would you use the recommended products. Of course the wash is first but would you apply the retinol serum and the cerave lotion right after?
Has the skinfix+ exfoliator and cream worked for anyone?
Should I use all these products at the same time ?
Loving your chanel!
So what order do we use the productS?
Thank u for this!, I have a question
What does the alcohol make to the skin? Cause that's the second ingredient on cerave SA and I'm kinda scared
I have issues with folliculitis on my legs, will these products work with preventing that as well?
yes
Are these products safe for pregnancy
will there be any problem if we use products with the same ingredients - salicylic acid, lactic acid, and a few other ingredients you mentioned in the video? for cleansing, moisturizing, and exfoliating?.......Like...using salicylic acid in every product we use...... might cause dryness?? is that true?
Thank you for this Dr. would be able to advice on scars in this case. Before I knew I had KP I was scratching the bumpy bumps trying to get rid of them and now I have brown scars instead. What treatment do you recommend to get rid of them?
Can retinol be used if you have rosacea?
Do we use all? I am confused.
I’ve noticed Cerave SA does have a body wash line as well - wonder if it is as strong/effective as the SA face wash that’s recommended here.
Hydrocortisone works for me!
Thank you sm!! I’ve been trying to find out a way to use AHA and BHA products for my body.
You're welcome! Glad I could help and that you find my content valuable.

I facing Keratosis Pilaris from almost 15 years and it's all over my thighs and back of the arm area.
I m using CeraVe SA cream on legs and it smoothened my skin but it didn't lighten black spots. Could u plz suggest something for lighting those dark spots?
Does Laser hair removal help to reduce KP? If yes then can I use at home IPL hair removal devices to reduce KP ?
Alpha Arbutin is great for lightening those spots. The Ordinary has one and it worked well for me
Products in the USA
1) cerave SA smoothing cream (ulta/target)
2) cerave sa smoothing cleanser (can't find the exact thing in the US)
3) necessaire body exfoliator (sephora)
4) Touch KP exfoliating body wash (Google the name it will come up)
5)cerave resurfacing retinol serum (target/ulta/cvs)
I can't find 2 &5

@@DrSimiAdedeji I'm not only enjoying your content, I'm learning a lot!!! And I find it extremely important that there are also videos where you talk about racism and how it affects you in your position. @@wassermelonification Thank you for your support! I'm so sorry to hear that you are also experiencing racism. It's terrible that even in this day and age, so many people continue to be discriminated against, not just because of race , colour ethnicity but also because of gender, sexual preferences, age, disability and more. It's important for us all to share stories to raise awareness and to support others who may not be brave enough to stand up and speak out against it.
Same here. She looks stunning. The way she speaks and how she explain her thing is absolute perfection.
