My daughter had been suffering from these “bumps” for years. Had gone to a dermatologist and prescribed 2 different creams that were really caustic to her skin and did more harm than good. Stumbled upon your video about a month ago. She started the Cod Liver oil without much hope and within a week her “bumps” are almost gone! Absolutely crazy that her Pediatrician or Dermatologist wouldn’t have recommended this. So happy you did!

I had KP on my arms for years, my family has it too however, mine is not as severe as my family members. What I noticed is this, improving my diet, higher protein intake, less junk food, etc have all made massive improvement to my KP on my arms. I also noticed that showering in very hot water aggregates my KP so I would make sure that when I'm taking hot showers, I would not let my KP come into contact with the hot water. Instead I would switch to cold water and use soap to wash my arms.
I still have KP on my arm but it's not as bad. Previously I tried medication and many other options but none of them worked... I wasted hundreds of dollars doing this. Fixing diet, moisturizing and showering my KP areas with cold water are what worked for me.
    In short,
    1. Diet ( less junk food, higher protein intake )
    2. No hot water showers on KP areas
    3. Moisturizer. I use a simple water-based moisturizer called "Hada Labo" It's from Japan.

Just a little suggestion. I am a holistic master esthetician of almost 4 decades and I agree with Dr B. I also have my Clients exfoliate daily by either dry brushing or using a body brush with their body wash in the shower. I then have them use a sugar scrub ( not salt) or an oil before drying off. A few other tips are head and shoulders in the dark blue bottle and applying Monistat 7 classic( yes it works, anti fungal) all of those and diet have helped my clients get rid of Keratosis Pilaris completely. Many times the skin being thick or calloused is also an issue and or we have activated or left an opening for the natural fungus and bacteria on our skin. Just some extra skin love.
Blessings to all of you 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

But I went on a trip to Jamaica (not my first) and I decided that "this time" I would not use any toxic sunscreens on my skin, only virgin coconut oil. I never did any "sunbathing" (on purpose), I mostly stayed in the shade, except when I was in the water... and after 10 days, my KP was virtually gone (no sunburn, either) and has not come back since. To all the remedies mentioned by Dr. Berg, I would strongly recommend adding vitamin K2 supplements to the regime, for me it was the most significant factor in reducing KP by 80 percent. I took atleast 100 mcg a day, plus I stopped using body washes that contain soap, since in contact with the hard water in my area it was causing cloged pores on the back of the arms and back, which would lead to more dry skin, folliculits and scabs.

I have had this skin condition my entire life...both of my kids have it too. These issues don't always mean we are deficient in vitamins and/or nutrients. The water we bathe/shower in, wash clothes with and use for food or drinks has a large part to play in the condition of our skin. Sure it's clean, clear and drinkable *but* just because it's clear and labeled drinkable doesn't mean it's good or healthy for us to drink *or* use for food and washing. There are chemicals that your local water treatment plant puts in the water to kill bacteria and other microbes or viruses. Then we have the chemicals that are hidden within the water and deposited in it from the water leaching from farmers fields, that goes into the ground water and local water table which then makes its way into the drinking water. Pesticides, Herbicides and whatever other chemicals they spray on their crops.

I love how my pediatrician saw my daughter for 5 minutes and said she’ll be fine just use hydrocortisone cream. No bedside manner. I felt like cattle just in and out. Thank you Dr. Berg for explaining the underlying cause and not just saying treat your symptoms with a topical anti-itch cream.

I hope this works, would be life changing. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2013. Right round 2009/10 when I first started getting sick my KP got so so so bad and although I’ve been strictly gluten free for 9 years, nothing has helped. Not a low carb diet, not exfoliation or acid washes or copious amounts of creams or lotion. Spring is almost here and I’m dreading short sleeves. I’ve never seen someone with KP as awful as mine and I miss wearing sleeveless dresses and tank tops. I hope the cod liver oil works, I’ll give it a try. Thank you for the video!

Dr. Berg this was so informative!! I never had keratosis pilaris before I used accutane. After my course of 80mg for 7 months, I started developing these bumps on my outer arms. When I asked my doctor, she said I should just exfoliate more- which hardly did anything!
I've been off accutane for two years now, the cystic acne came back (found out the cause was PCOS, so accutane was actually inappropriate) and paying closer attention to my diet and health and it's mostly clear!
    I didn't even realize why!
Thank you so much for talking about ROOT CAUSES rather than just how to cover it up!!

I can’t believe celiac disease isn’t mentioned. I suffered from this skin condition since I was a small child (as well as my daughter). I found out about 2 yrs ago that both of us have celiac disease and we completely cut gluten. Skin issues Vanished within a few weeks. Direct correlation to gluten intolerance/allergy and skin issues. Try cutting gluten if you suffer from this and I can almost guarantee it will improve greatly, if not completely

Keratosis pilaris has always been a problem since I was a child.
Had weight problems all my life, yo-yo-dieting, the classics.
    Gall-bladder removed when I was 23.
Vitamin D deficiency got mentioned a few years ago.
Lots of stress due to uni and work, especially lately, then corona hit.
Now I'm 32 and just got diagnosed woth pcos...
Made changes to my diet and exercise already and I'll add cod liver oil on top.

I think cod liver oil can be a legit remedy for KP! If you need another sign to give it a try: this is your sign.
My background/testimony: I have atopic skin and I've had KP ever since I was a kid on mainly upper arms and entire legs, which caused me a lot of suffering as a teen (as it does), now I'm 22. I've tried all kinds of lotions, oils, baths, exfoliating creams and brushes and whatnot over the years.
I started taking cod liver oil this year (2022) february 3rd; by march 11th I noticed that my skin had become significantly softer, and now at april 18th it's even more soft/smooth while the redness is much more faded.

How much Cod Liver oil should you take everyday? Or should you eat it everyday since your body stores the vitamin D and slowly releases it when deficien? I've have been wondering about this ever since I started eating it to your advice for myself and for my almost 3 year old daughter.

I take a tablespoon every day following dinner. I take Norwegian, minimally processed, with lemon flavor. I just can’t do the unflavored. Plus my wife and I love seafood and eat it often. Icelandic CLO is also excellent.
