If the liquid is falling out, try clicking on the glass(circle .002) and go to physics and enable planar (its under settings of the fluid)
what a legend
you are hero
😩thank you
thanks bro for your help
why my water look like square?
Oh maaan, this is first animation that I got right 🤩 Can't thank You enough 🤩 Most of the video there was mouse buttons in the left corner, love when these are added 🤩
For 8:30, after making a different object : "Tab" (Into Edit Mode), "A" to select all, "E" to Extrude Up and "Right Clicked" to repositioning where it was before then Pressed "Alt+S" [Move the cursor to scale it out along the normals]
Hope this will work.
Thank you for this
can u explain the passage before that?
Thank you. I was wondering why he skipped that part
you're a Godsend
thanks
I recently tried my first fluid simulation, and it worked nicely. I just wish my computer could handle them better, so I guess I'll have to wait until I can try it.
Onto the list of things to try at some point it goes.
Still an awesome video! Thank you fir your tutorials.
If you don't want to make your domain unnecessarily large to avoid computing unneeded empty space: since your splashes are not very high, you don't have to make the domain that high - it is not necessary to cover the ice cubes completely in their starting position. It does not matter if they start falling from outside the fluid domain.
Right. In this simulation tutorials he not cover the crown splash. BTW it was a great tutorials.
@@artistsmind The crown splash wasn't my point. In the video he says you have to make sure the domain covers the effector objects, but it is not and so you don't need such a large domain.
my fluids were just leaking out of my cube and bringing the top down fixed it so thank you
11:00 for those who can't see water object check on face orientation and flip normal by click object and go edit mode press A then Shift + N and try again.
Nice trick!

The water go outside the Cup.. Why?
@@user-el9lx2mz5m Go to your Cup Fluid effector settings and check "is Planar"
I can't see water also it doesn't change drink colour to blue or anything. I tried this and didn't work. is there any other recommendation?
That is a excellent simulation + visual !

Watched this last night ,great tutorial now going to try it out .
Thanks bro you definitely taught me a trick or two in your video and it really helped ❤❤❤
legendary tutorial thanks so much
You're amazing bro, thanks so much, works perfectly
Thank you for your time doing this tutorial
Can’t wait to try
Thank you for sharing! Very interesting and helpful video! ❤
Just managed to make the cup and the ice cubes .unfortunately the animation is showing the ice cubes falling through the side of the cup once .First animation attempt on blender .Happy with the progress
Great tutorial, thanks!
Great tutorial, thanks a lot for it!
Instead of using the Transparent BSDF with the mix shader, you can fix the issue with the material by recalculating the normals of the glass.
It looks heaps better too
1. Select the glass.
2. Go to edit mode
3. Select all
4. Choose Mesh>Normals up the top
3. Recalculate outside
Thanks you
I don't know if normals have any effect on liquids(circle.001)
@@ScarecrowWho_ Beautiful result, thanks for the video. Also reducing the IOR of the glass material will get rid of some of that refractive and reflective weirdness
How cool. I appreciate you explaining what the steps are doing instead of just saying “click here, change this, change that.” Great tutorial! How would I make the cubes float in the liquid?
I'm not totally sure but I'm guessing they would just have to be less dense than the liquid.
your a great teacher keep it up..
💙
Thanks, I learned a lot from this tutorial!
Bro i created a glass but the liquid is falling out 😭
Make sure you reduce the size of the quick liquid to match your glass....don't know if am making sense but that's what i did to contain the liquid on my glass.
😂
Make sure the liquid size is just a little less than the cup....that's what helps me....click on liquid then tab to edit mode then alt + s then make size slight small just a little...hope this helps 🙏
Increase the resolution
You need make collision for your glass.
Excellent! Well done! 👌👍Very realistic
Hi but i am trying for days but i cant make it 😔
my lil liquid is falling off the glass@@Lifewithsumiya
What was the sim output folder created for? So that every time the animation was not rendered from the beginning ? Is it needed for final rendering ?
Thanks a lot
thank you i learn too much from you
I have tried a simulation and have been trying to make whiskey sim flow from top into a glass. And I'm using the viscosity of water as mentioned in the blender documentation. But it is still looking too thick, something like honey. But I can find how to make it thinner. Can you help out with it as in show how to make it more thinner?
well done :)
why glass not colliding creating a cylider that collides well but when i delete a face that doesnt checking is planner does not work
quick liquid won't show the water
but how to make the liquid splash high out of the cup like in the first render, i tried moving the cubes a bit higher it didnt change much
A white kind of liquid is showing up in the glass when i render. How do i get rid of it?
why when i quick liquid, not showing the blue vertices? and when i converting to mesh it nothing happen
i have the same
Fire tutorial.. LETS JUST do this!
🤣
Very Nice 👌👌👌👍😊
Hi, thanks for the video .
I have a problem on 6:47
When we need to do a (volume) liquid ,
I don't understand the algorithm
awesome tutorial!! ... i only have one problem: my liquid just doesnt move at all :D what did i do wrong?
your way of teaching is very good
but you can also explain which key is used why it will make you unique Explainer
I don't know about you, but to me the water doesn't stay inside the glass, and I've redone every step, the glass has the rigid body as the effector, and the part we're not rendering made out of the glass as well. So theoretically it should contain the liquid made. Why does it come out of the glass as if it were pierced sideways (to be clear) ?
what he doesnt tell you, is that go in liquid setting and turn on Planar, it will fix it
@@firebluesky-jc8sq it doesnt
@@wackywater7234 did you find the solution
tried to follow this, the very start when i went from wire frame to solid view, yours is all smooth however mine is not?
물튀기는건 뒷편에 계속 인가요?
why would you change cache folder? It chooses some disposable folder on each operating system by default ...why would you collect those? Do you revisit old renders and use it then?
its out of context, but you got a great voice man! try VO for sure!
I was just trying to find out how to roll ice cubes with a glass and liquid. I just stuck at the effector part - the water leaks from left and right parts, checked with flip normals then water splashes under the glass into the domain. All scales are applied. Does the effector domain for liquid must touch the liquid object perfectly?
-Updare : Effector must be a bit bigger than the liquid object, normals facing to the liquid. Solved!
"Normals facing to the liquid" - what do you mean? How do you do that?
@@RobertWildlingEffector object is copypaste+scale operation, normals (you can check it by visually from blender documentation - forgot the location) ALt+N to flip normals to the desired direction.
@@mertcanurcan Thank you for your fast response!
@@mertcanurcan can i ask how you delete the box that appears when you use quickfluid?
@@funkypossum6403 mate comment didn't pop up - so may be late reply. When you use quickfluid its a "fluid domain" it won't be rendered. But I forgot how to hide that :/
Very cool but my splash is tiny and doesn't come out of the glass
How can I fix this
Hi, PIXXO.
I have done everything as you did, but the cube doesn't fall into the glass like yours. It just stops a couple of centimeters above the glass and keeps shaking in a glitchy manner.
Scale is applied, origins are like in your video. Physics, too.
When I use the flat plane instead of glass, it falls nicely. But when I extrude the plane and make it hollow (delete the top face), it doesn't get in but also stops above like it's not a hollow object.
Any ideas why this would happen?
Regards.
I made the objects 20 times larger, with scale applied, and now it works.
Go to the physics properties tab, then in the rigid body settings scroll down to sensitivity and reduce the margin.
Hi Man Very Impressive work how long did it take for u to be this fast any tips cuz i wanna learn pls
++ note if u have courses or discord let me know ty++
it doesn't work, ctrl i selects all of the points and does not inverse it, also when I press delete vertices, nothing happens.
Any one can help me, i dont know why, When i apply the comand f3 and apply the effect, dont change to a fluid boy
After selecting a circle on the bottom of the cup, what keys do I have to press exactly to gross select and get the volume of the liquid? I pressed Ctrl with a number but that doesn't work
press fn + f3
and also check edit->preferences->input->emulate numpad must be on
Great tutorial but can you tell us how to make such a big splash
Hello, thank you for sharing your knowledge. This is the second time i am making this project, but the fluid inside the cup keeps pouring on the floor
main cup needs a fluid physics with effector selected and "is planar" selected
i like - how liquid splashes.
How can we save the animation? So i can keep watching the animation play back like a video to keep on my phone?
Render the frames to a folder and then open blender video editing (file, new, video editing) and import the frames and save the final video
I am having the same problems as some others here: The liquid is "running out" of the glass... seems like in the video you cut a step from your workflow. One question that arises is: Is the liquid object also a rigid body?
Looks great, though!
How did you solve the problem? I'm stuck there too
@@khushzambare Unfortunately I haven't. The maker of the video did not respond to any inquiry, not even an email...
@@RobertWildlingI found a way. So, you click on the cup and go to fluid in the physics properties. Click on collision as the effector type and make the surface thickness 0.5
@@sarahokoro3085 Thank you for sharing! Great that you found a solution! Will try t today! :-)
Maybe one could just take down the resolution divisions in the physics tab>fluid>settings. And rather change viscosity in the viscosity settings in the same module.
This is a great tutorial, so thanks for taking the time out to teach others (like me) to achieve something similar in such a short space of time :-).... The only problem I have (and absolutely no idea why) is when I go to turn my object (the bit that is supposed to be the whisky in this case) into fluid, and add the physics, my liquid "drops" eveytime, and doesn't retain its original shape (like yours)... I've followed your tutorial precisely, watching many times, but even though I select the same settings, my fluid continues to "drop" to the bottom of the glass, as if effected by gravity... can you shed any light onto this? Like, I may have a setting that I need to activate that I am not aware of maybe? thanks, lee.
may be that's because of a bug in blender, are you using the updated version of blender?
Hello, thank you so much, I repeated the same thing, everything is fine, but I had a problem with the rendering of the glass, it is just white, although everything is fine without rendering. Can you suggest me how to solve this?
maybe try to change IOR settings of the glass
Did you use eevee or cycles?
Did you solve it?
is it possible to make the ice float on water after getting dipped to make it realistic.
truue - would be great to know how
@6:54 that is Select Face Loops
Shortcut: Shift - Alt - LMB
thanks bro
Is there a way to fix the ice rolling out of the cup
why when i press f3 quick water the water goes through the glass i don't know how i did that
bruh im stuck here 4:51 everytime is start the animation the position of the cube changes and its starts glitching
My liquid keeps flowing on the floor have tired using the normals to keep the liquid in the cup but isn't working
Mine too have if you find a solution pls share thanks
why i can't move my ice cubes? i want to change the height they're dropping from but they keep dropping from the former location after i changed it, any idea why? It feels like i've key framed them but i did not.
(solved) All i need to do is to remove all bake then edit what i want to be added and bake it again in scene properties, forgot that existed lol
and how to remove bake? I think we baked twice, but I have only one folder (the one that was created at 12:30), so it needs to be removed and then it will be possible to make changes? and then make bake again? and for this it is generally needed?
Does anybody know if you would be able to import this into ue5
The liquid you created had a translucent effect after render . But in my project the liquid turns opaque while rendering . Even though it is showing perfectly fine ( translucent effect) when I am in my normal workspace. So why it’s changing after rendering and how to correct this?
Go to junk
Select cirlce 2
Go to object properties
Hide it from renders in visibility
Thank me later
Thanks buddy😀😀
how did you make me at 11:00 the ice cubes bounce on the water and don't get in
it's my first animation
i make this step by steps but i tried liquid part i can't fill the center
i tried press E and its gone only one side how i move this liquid center (7.34minute part)
E +. S
One doubt pls anybody tell me - in your original file bottle was placed in one plane with some patterns how to make that patterns ?
Im a little late, but its just materials/ textures. This specific texture is a diamond plate i think
Nice work! thou I can't render after finishing my own and each time I try to render it will render and start over again and again, I just don't know what else to do
It renders all the frames on by one wait till all frames are rendered and the output will be stored in the folder you selected
Thanks for this tutorial! My liquid splashes are sooo mild in my animation.. any idea how to make bigger splashes? Thanks!
as he sayd also u can put cubes higher or make weight bigger

@@babacucoi have to see it proly to help
@@babacuco All you have to do is remove the rigid body world and bake the animation again, it worked for me!
For some reason my ice cubes don't effect the water despite having the liquid effector on them, so you've got a bigger splash than me XD
The water spills out of the glass, ignoring it. How do I fix it?
when i press Alt + S to scale it out it makes lots of sharp shapes
is there anything i can do to fix it?
It might be that your Normals are not calculated. I had the situation when I was tried to extrude I could see a very weird form of shape with lots of sharp angles - you need to go into Edit mode - click A to select all vertices and then hit Shift + N so your normals would be recalculated.
the cuts were confusing. if I rewind I fear I might destroy my project. fairly explained, I just can't figure out why liquid is clipping through the cup. adding onto that, I can't find out how to access my video. 5/10.
у меня на рендаре виден этот грёбанный куб, который вода. Как это пофиксить?
My ice cubes don't interact with the liquid, but the cup does, did I do something wrong?
I'm trying something similar, but I'm having the glass animated to tip over. The fluid seems to seep thru it all around the outsides though, any tip on stopping that?
If the liquid is falling out, try clicking on the glass(circle .002) and go to physics and enable planar (its under settings of the fluid)
i followed everything but still small water droplets push out the side of the cup or the bottom
saved
for the people who struggles about liquid leaking from sides of the object; pick the little cube on your liquid domain in object mode and make resolution number 64. Thats how i fixed.
man im stuck at the 8:34 mark when he said e to extrude the video cuts like something was taken out. When I try to scale it also scales up when i just need it to scale out so the duplicate doesnt go about the original mesh
figured it out. hold alt and s while moving the mouse to extrude.
press e then right click and the press alt s it happens then
I followed the exactly the keys that he displays in the left part of the screen and it worked. It is better to play the video in x0.75 speed.

Why not get a circle then Scale it and then extrude it?
guess this is for intermediate users who know blender, A. non of my short cut keys seem to match the ones in this tut, ( E to extrude does nothing on my computer )so i'm left spending ages trying to figure out where the operations are in menu's, B my layout seems to be different so right away I'm not able to get past 1min 11, as i have no 'Add modifier' to the left. (found it under the Spanner tab in the end) i take full responsibility for this as i've been coming over from Maya and so set my theme to Maya...
I don't know what you have done to your default Blender, but E to extrude is a very basic tool that's used in hundreds of tutorials... of course you have to be in Edit Mode in order to extrude some vertex, edge or face, not in Object Mode (because you cannot select parts of the mesh in Object Mode). And the "Add Modifier" menu (to the right, not the left) is of course under the "Spanner" tab (it's called the "Modifiers" tab for that reason when you hover your mouse over it) and that's where he is in the video. But you do realize there are different tabs you can switch between to get different menus? It seems you should probably learn the use of Blender's interface and basic tools before starting fluid simulations as these physics things are not the easiest to begin with.
