Possibly BioWare's best game. The plot, setting, characters, lore, everything was amazing. When a game makes you reflect on your decisions after you completed it, then you know it's a great game.
DA:O was already a gem when it was released. Now, with the vast amount of brilliant mods... it's almost funny how much better it is than Inquisition. Good on you for catching up on it!
aeoncz I think Inquisition was just as good as DA:O, i just think it missed some strategic controls(use any spell by going to the command wheel), and not having some things(desire demons for instance), but overall it was as good as DA:O, and the combat flows better.
Rhazyel Paulino All of that doesn't matter considering how awfully uninspired, rushed and inconsistent Inquisition's main plot is. That would be bearable if DA:I had more sidequests that are as interesting and compelling as the "Still Waters" quest in Crestwood, but that's just not the case.
aeoncz If you compare to the lack of deepness the story of DA2 was, it was a great game, and i personally found the story quite immersive and taking, and you have too admit that if it wasn't a good game i wouldn't be awarded a GOTY prize.
Rhazyel Paulino GOTY isn't that hard too achieve when you don't have any real competition, 2014 was a horrible year for gaming. But yeah, DA:I is still a good game but DA:O was simply outstanding. And I have to disagree concerning DA2 - the very personal and immersive touch of the story was far and beyond the best thing about the game, aside from companion interaction, and noticeably more engaging than pretty much every main plot event in DA:I, with the exception of the end of Act 1. It just wasn't as "epic" because you didn't save the land/continent/world or something equally grand.
Honestly I think my issues with DA2 stem down to the companions being nowhere near as interesting as the DA:O companions. Every single one of them was really interesting.
no video game song will touch me more than this one did. after over a hundred hours in this game invested in the amazing deepness of the story, there could be no more perfect a song that encompasses what this game is. Plus one this if the 1st time during the credits you closed your eyes during "lift your hands toward the sun..." and teared up.
In fairness, a steaming turd would be an improvement on DA2 :-P But I agree, DA:O is at time of writing still the best game I've ever played. Nothing I've played since tops it.
I've always found it interesting how divisive DA2 is. Some people love it, others hate it. But hey at least we can all agree that Inquisition was good. :-)
I never knew this song was put in this game until I actually decided to just sit there looking at the credits. I mean, I listened to the song long before playing this game, and it caught me off guard because I thought I accidently played my downloaded MP3 version on my Xbox 360.
I remember how pleasantly shocked I was from hearing this play at the games end credits. Already I was thoroughly satisfied how the game achieved great game play, voice acting, music, writing and how overwhelmingly desperate the fight was throughout the campaign. I was still reeling from its story and what I just experienced, then this song started and there I was completely blown away in tears.
This gives me so many feels, I can't even comprehend. Even though I did not choose the ultimate sacrifice I cried through the whole of the credits, just because the game ended and it was just so perfect and a happy ending and ... and ... *tears up*
You want an ending that will make you cry? Romance Alistair, and then do Ultimate Sacrifice ending. (You need a LOT of cunning, or leave Alistair at the gates before the final battle).
2020. bored in quarantine. Dusted off my old copy of this game and fell in love all over again. Now into DA2 and DAI, cheers to this amazing game series!!! 😁💕
Great I’m so glad to hear! I’ve been playing DA:O in quarantine more often since I have all this time! Amazing game even now, always coming back to it!
I legit fucking cried when the credits hit for the first time, i was 18, i got attached to the world and the characters, i got sad it was over, but then the DLCs hit, that first cutscene of Awakening felt like coming back home, got all giddy when it was time to kill more Spawn jaja, definitely one of the best damn games i have ever had the pleasure of playing, did a little more than 20 playthroughs of it, it deserves a remaster, i'm just sad that Bioware is a shadow of what it once was.
just beat it again .... i'm playing through all 3 again :(( damn i'm actually sad i don't know why !! :(( i mean i still have 2 more games , and i can still enjoy the world but :(( oh fuuuuuuuuck
Well to me Origins is the one and only true Dragon age game. All it needed were new graphics and perhaps a better combat system. Otherwise there was nothing to change. Now however. Disappointment on all ends.
My favorite game of all time. I don't know if there will ever be a game I'll love as much as this one. Cyberpunk will probably be as well made, but I don't think they'll ever give me such wonderful heart wrenching love stories as this one did.
I was a teenager when I last finished Dragon Age and seen these end credits, nearly 10 years later this slaps so hard. The art always got to me, on how much time and effort and lore piled into one of my favorite games of all time
I remember playing this game as a kid, lol I still remember my first romance was Zevran. Dragon age is one of my top favorite games to play, can't wait till the next Dragon age game.
God, I remember beating the Game for the first time, a long, long time ago.... Loghain dead, Alstair King, My Warden havin a Kid with Morrigan in order to cheat death....
My Warden romanced Alistair… and had him have a kid with Morrigan to have us both survive… weirdest situation ever. Alistair remained a Warden because I was an Elf… no way I’m being a mistress to the King *and* having another woman have a kid with the man. dragon age inquisition spoiler: But in the end, it was pointless, Alistair still died in Inquisition because I can’t lose my Hawke… these games hurt me.
Awesome song. Awesome game. Actual masterpiece one of the best rpgs ever made, and has to be in at least a top 10 all time list. I used to talk about Elder Scrolls a lot being awesome? but after I finished this game recently it easily surpassed Skyrim
Love this song, the feels it gives you once you complete it and the decisions you made to get there, I hope we will get too see the warden again, but I don't think we will. All we have are the memories and an excellent game that will be remembered
I let alistair kill the archidemon (plus I had a romance with him), and the warden went in a travel... idk if someone has watched the credits of pokemon movies, where the characters appear doing their stuff after the events of the movie... well, I imagine all the character doing their lives after the adventure with the warden, and in the end of the credits (has in pokemon movies), the warden arrives to a new town, only with the company of the mabari, remembering her lost love, but finding relief in the victory over the blight, and the promise of a new live... I really enjoyed this shit...
Ooh I’ve never let Alistair kill the Archidemon.. it was always doing the ritual or me killing it.. (Love Alistair Lol) and yeah watching the scenes explaining what your companions are doing now I loved and tried getting different ones and such. This is such an amazing game that I will always cherish.
I finished the game just tonight after two years...the flood of happy hormones and the chills that ran through me was unbelievable. My cheeks are still warm and it's been at least half an hour. I'm glad to finally be done with it, but MAN, what a hell of a ride!
holy sh*t. bioware is the creators of four of my favorite games ever, and now i just realized that they included one of my favorite songs in the credits of one of these favorite games... i think i am in love :P
Honestly, DA2 was fine. I even liked it the most. That Origins was this great doesn't mean the other games are terrible. And if they wouldn't have made the other games you would've been mad that they hadn't made a new one.
@DraigonBoy In the credits. This video is a plain capture of the credits with original sound that plays during the rolling screen. It starts with "I'm the One" and "This is War"...
@TheZeide Hmm...most sidequests become inaccessible once you enter the Landsmeet chapter and then, the new ones too when you reach the Final quest. So, I'd say no. The only thing we can play after the blight, with the end-game-saved, is DLC's but it clearly states that is sort of "flashbacks". I.E., it doesn't matter if you sacrificed your warden, you'll be able to play with him still.
Just put a good 28 hours into a single play through and I know I STILL missed some stuff.. And even though it's my second time playing it I still love it to death.. And I still get sad when I finish it because I know that's the end of this story.. No more of this story.. I decided to travel the world with leliana and honestly it makes me feel sad when it goes to that part in the end scene and it says this tale is over after deciding as such.. Going on an epic journey with all your friends then going around at the end and saying goodbye one at a time.. As allistair says.. "you're leaving and I'm staying.. It certainly feels like an ending to me"
@CharlotteEmily09 Yes, this song plays after the theme. This video a plain capture of the credits, sound included. No additional sound was added. It should start at the same point as shown here.
30 Seconds to Mars was one of my favorite bands during this time DA:O came out (not really nowadays), so when I heard this song playing after finishing the game I'm pretty sure I almost cried lmao
As if the game wasnt epic enough and on top of that they put this song in the credits in the end. Holy fucking epicness overload, tearing like a lil kid every time and suddenly feeling the urge ot play all over again even tho i just finished another run. So much to do irl but i wanna play DA once again.
This is a reward in of itself. You get to play a awesome ass game with a amazing story and characters. Once that's all and done you get this amazing music for your credits.
Never heard this during during the credits of Origins, and I've beaten the game often. I heard it after my first playthrough of Awakening, but not the second.
I remember my game crashing before I could see the epilogue for Origins and I missed it. So I read the endings on the wiki and found out which choices result in which endings. It didn't do that for when I played Awakening because I managed to fix the issue.
This is my favourite band and this song made me buy the game... I will be proud to listen to my favourite song after I finish one of the best games ever! It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie. It's the moment to live and the moment to die!
@Paskakatiska This is entirely captured in game, music included. That is the part where it plays. Only in the credits and after the first credits song. It is also in one of the game Trailers but only here the song is complete in its full extension.
This Game unmatched. İf Bioware not alligned with EA much more better game (my opinion). Example Awakening expansion was still good but still short stort, low game time and many wasted potentionals but still good. İ wish instead of focusing Dragon Age 2 (exodus) and its DLC's they should focused to making awakening expansion.
The perfect song for a masterpiece of a game. BioWare *really* outdid themselves with this gem - An unforgettable crew, an original story, a multitude of choices...and even if you die, even if you choose the Ritual, even if you have another deliver the final blow to the Archdemon, the game gives you *this.* A perfect way to end the first entry of a magnificent tale.
@MADH1GHLAND3R That's the beginning of the Credits but I have it as the music for another video, check it out! "Gladiator - I am the One" - watch?v=ee0gtLvjbWg
@toddyjenkins that makes a lot of sense, but i'm almost positive that if alistair is not hardened then at the end he turns into a drunk no matter what happens. i might be wrong, but that's what i thought
İt is Only one true Dragon Age game squels won't surpassed Dragon Age Origins (Sadly). İ cannot wait playing Dragon Age Origins in my new PC with Asus ROG swift OLED pg32ucdm monitor.
I was pretty shocked to hear this song playing in such a serious game..Not that its a bad song. I actually enjoy it..I love beating a game, and being rewarded with a really epic song that you can just lay back and relax to, after those weeks of busting your ass off destroying everything.. God, I was so exhausted at the end, I was actually glad to sacrifice myself. Best RPG game I have EVER played since Zelda. I can say that now.
@regular90 No. The song will play to whatever ending. He just needs to let it roll. Credits starts with another music. It plays "I Am The One" first. Later it plays "This is War" - (check my vid, that's the point where it starts.)
@SpikeDawg45 People disliked DA 2 because the dungeons were way overused. DA: O mostly had different areas each place. DA 2 just pretty much took a dungeon and switched it around. Its a good game and I like it, but I prefer DA O just for that fact.
It's amazing how Dragon Age: Origins was developed for 5 years. The lore, characters, story, setting, gameplay. music, DLCs, expansion-which all amounts to 70+ hours of gameplay-made the game win over 54 awards and accolades from different websites and companies. In short, Dragon Age: Origins= Definition of RPG epicness!
screaming? i see it as more jared's voice just has a searing, no-holds-barred sound. he doesnt really scream, but he just sings his lungs out, and it has that power to it, the feeling inside when you want to scream something, i feel it when i hear the songs, times when i wanted to scream but couldnt or shouldnt, but jared does it for me, it releases that emotion. 30 seconds to mars new album is a coming of age. they transcended with this album, they are truelly great
I had actually stopped playing video games... Until last year when my brother forced me to play this. 700+ hours later.. I have some catching up to do with video games now.
@toddyjenkins i really tried hard to do that- it didn't work out. basically you have to have him hardened, my anora the queen, and accept morrigan's offer right?
I just finished my first Playthrough of everything Dragon Age contains. After my Elf saved Ferelden against the archdemon and the mother, saved a dwarf from an ugly monster in the deeps of Amgarrak he left this world with his beloved Morrigan. I really can't deny that I cried :°) It will be a hell of a time till Dragon Age2.........
@OiShawnyBoy You realy should try and beat it some day, after the first time i did it, i was like AGAIN :P just to see what else was waiting in store for me. i have played it about 4,5 times now and i keep getting new stuff to see. But in my first play through i sacrificed my warden and i was realy blown away about how a character in a game could influence the way i feel about him, and thats where i think bioware hit the spot :D
I thought this song was a brilliant choice to showcase in Dragon Age: Origins. This game helped me get over watching my Patriots get embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs. I listen to this song very often on my MP3 player.
@metsuri18 Multisign! I really felt how much time and passion was put into DAO and DAA, and how much the short developing time crippled DA2. Hopefully Bioware will take that as a lesson for DA3.
what i would like to see is heated hatred amungs everyone after they where defeated after the first game. the place is like in shock still and trying to pick up peaces and there is betrayal and stuff like that but in the end a new and powerful darkspwn appear and then they have to band to geather to defeat these new breed of darkspwn andi n hte end they find out they can work togeather and take in what ever attacks come from the darkspwn. just so they can make more games. dont want people bored
Possibly BioWare's best game. The plot, setting, characters, lore, everything was amazing. When a game makes you reflect on your decisions after you completed it, then you know it's a great game.
I just finished this game..and wow....my only regret is that I only did not play it earlier! 10/10!!!
Truly...a master piece!
DA:O was already a gem when it was released. Now, with the vast amount of brilliant mods... it's almost funny how much better it is than Inquisition. Good on you for catching up on it!

It also reminds me of the companions. Alistair, Dog, Morrigan, Leliana, Sten, Oghren, Shale, Zevran, Wynne
Best Companions!!
You're damn right!
Honestly I think my issues with DA2 stem down to the companions being nowhere near as interesting as the DA:O companions. Every single one of them was really interesting.
In war victory, in peace vigilance , in death sacrifice. If you know what i mean ;)
Дима Д only living know the victory!
Дима Д the motto of the Grey Wardens?
And if you fall too early know that your sacrifice is not wasted and that in time we will join you.
+Hiperdude Lolz Untill Ostagar,,,fucking Loghain
DA Origins has such a bittersweet ending
It's a grimdark saga.
no video game song will touch me more than this one did. after over a hundred hours in this game invested in the amazing deepness of the story, there could be no more perfect a song that encompasses what this game is.
Plus one this if the 1st time during the credits you closed your eyes during "lift your hands toward the sun..." and teared up.
The credits to ark are pretty great too
Even though DAI was a huge improvement compared to DA2, nothing will ever be as epic as DAO!
In fairness, a steaming turd would be an improvement on DA2 :-P
But I agree, DA:O is at time of writing still the best game I've ever played. Nothing I've played since tops it.
Dragon age 2 is my favorite dragon age game but have agree with you on that
I've always found it interesting how divisive DA2 is.
Some people love it, others hate it.
But hey at least we can all agree that Inquisition was good. :-)
Raymond Morgan true is dragon age inquisition perfect no not by any means but a game does need to perfect to good
Dragon Age: Inquisition is the second best game of the series, and I count Awakening on that list.
I never knew this song was put in this game until I actually decided to just sit there looking at the credits. I mean, I listened to the song long before playing this game, and it caught me off guard because I thought I accidently played my downloaded MP3 version on my Xbox 360.
I thought I'd modded this in accidentally lmfao
I remember how pleasantly shocked I was from hearing this play at the games end credits. You want an ending that will make you cry?
Romance Alistair, and then do Ultimate Sacrifice ending. (You need a LOT of cunning, or leave Alistair at the gates before the final battle).
I love that I can recognize so many of these voice actors in the credits now after all of these years seeing their names in other games and shows.
You aren't alone :) I really hope that they will bring us some good memories
I sat and cried my fucking eyes out the first time I saw this...Dragon Age Origins is a top 3 game of ALL TIME
2020. bored in quarantine.
Seriously man love these games waiting for dragon age dreadwolf
I legit fucking cried when the credits hit for the first time, i was 18, i got attached to the world and the characters, i got sad it was over, but then the DLCs hit, that first cutscene of Awakening felt like coming back home, got all giddy when it was time to kill more Spawn jaja, definitely one of the best damn games i have ever had the pleasure of playing, did a little more than 20 playthroughs of it, it deserves a remaster, i'm just sad that Bioware is a shadow of what it once was.
To you still liking DA:O in 2016. You`re awsome
+Nick Salehi It was actually the first game I played through (or replayed for the millionth time) this year. :)
Eszti1218 Haha yea. Dont think any new dragon age will ever beat Origins
+Nick Salehi I personally think Inquisition is the best but all three are really good in their own name.
just beat it again .... i'm playing through all 3 again :(( damn i'm actually sad i don't know why !!

Hello from 2023
The only game that's even came close to this masterpiece is Baldurs Gate 3. Cyberpunk is finally fixed though, and it's great too
I was a teenager when I last finished Dragon Age and seen these end credits, nearly 10 years later this slaps so hard. The art always got to me, on how much time and effort and lore piled into one of my favorite games of all time
This game was absolutely legendary and I always find myself filled with nostalgia when I hear this song or catch myself thinking about DA
Honestly it's cheesy but, this is the perfect song for the ending of Dragon Age: Origins.
This song just goes so well with the game
I remember playing this game as a kid, lol I still remember my first romance was Zevran. Dragon age is one of my top favorite games to play, can't wait till the next Dragon age game.
Leliana, did you find a band in Orlais or something to play the credits? We miss your singing. XD
Pretty sure Leliana was playing with my Grey Warden... :P
This game actually got me emotional. I was almost in tears while hearing this song.
What a long strange journey its been...
God, I remember beating the Game for the first time, a long, long time ago.... Loghain dead, Alstair King, My Warden havin a Kid with Morrigan in order to cheat death....

To you, still love dragon age stories in 2018 : you're awesome too
95 hours of awesomeness awarded with some good ass music. Well played, Bioware.
95!?
The music is one of the sole reasons of beating the game. It's SO rewarding. You just killed a dragon, you deserve some awesomeness!
Awesome song. Awesome game.
Actual masterpiece one of the best rpgs ever made, and has to be in at least a top 10 all time list. I used to talk about Elder Scrolls a lot being awesome? but after I finished this game recently it easily surpassed Skyrim
I love this song and it was almost on my brithday when dragon age came out I was born 17 November 2009
ENCHANTMENT!
That's my boy, Sandal!
“Say hello to the young man, Sandal” or something like that I remember with him and Sandal! XD
I hoping there will a just as awesome song in the end credits for Inquisition.
Not sure they managed, but it wasn't bad on it's own...
Love this song, the feels it gives you once you complete it and the decisions you made to get there, I hope we will get too see the warden again, but I don't think we will. All we have are the memories and an excellent game that will be remembered
I played inquisition first but recently played Origins and DA2 and loved both of them and actually think Inquisition is a boring game
I sit and listen and watch every single credit and cry like a baby every time I finish a play through. It's so satisfying.
Lol I missed this in the credits
Probably one of the games that touched me the most, i missed it so much
i hope they make a movie of this game. i'd personally go and see every freaking screening.
I finished this yesterday, it was amazing.
Though when Morrigan explained her offer, I spat out my milk.
holy sh*t. bioware is the creators of four of my favorite games ever, and now i just realized that they included one of my favorite songs in the credits of one of these favorite games... i think i am in love :P
So Bioware has this thing where they put a badass song at the end of their first games i.e. Mass Effect and DA:O, then it goes downhill.
Mass effect 2 was better than 1 lol
ME2 was better than 3!!! =))
The end of our journey! Dragon Age Veilguard the final chapter!
Yessir!!! And I'm ready for it🎉
Just finished my like 20th play through of DAO and I’m telling you, all the DA credit songs are the BEST. I cry every single time.
These credits made me cry... I didnt want it to end! :'(
same here, I was depressed for the rest of the evening when it was over. Figured, well now it's back to boring real life.
Getting this credit scene is my reason to let my warden live, I was sad when this didn't play my second run through and she died.
Aww sad but I did the same lol!
Just found out if you go directly to the credits in the extras section it's the first song that plays :)
Thanks! I’ll have to do that next time I play it lol.
I was surprised to hear this at the end. But it fits well.
Great Game
Thanks for posting
Never heard this during during the credits of Origins, and I've beaten the game often. I heard it after my first playthrough of Awakening, but not the second.
Oh, it's there. It's one of the reasons I sit through all the credits.
I remember my game crashing before I could see the epilogue for Origins and I missed it. So I read the endings on the wiki and found out which choices result in which endings. It didn't do that for when I played Awakening because I managed to fix the issue.
I had a fangasm when this song came on cause I felt like I finished watching a great movie, plus the song is pretty relatable to the game. :D
This is my favourite band and this song made me buy the game... I will be proud to listen to my favourite song after I finish one of the best games ever! It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie. It's the moment to live and the moment to die!

noticed a couple of mass effect actors in the cast, mark meer, Micheal beattie. Nice.
listening to this song when u do the ultimate sacrifice is even better!! Saddens me alot
2017 - still better than many RPGs

WHEN I HERD THIS SONG AT THE END OF THE CREDITS, THIS GAME BECAME MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIMES
To me it's perfect. Also considering this song. Just like Mass Effect 1 and the Credits theme called M4 Part 2 by Faunts.
I reject your reality and substitute my own
Aw sweet dungeonmaster
I just beat this game less than 5 minutes ago and I just had to hear this song again. Freaking best song in the whole damn world ladies and gentleman.
Awakening is an expansion pack.
Bio Ware puts some amazing songs in their end credits, Mass effect, Jade Empire and now this, good stuff.
Origins was the ONLY Dragon Age game I actually completed.
İt is Only one true Dragon Age game squels won't surpassed Dragon Age Origins (Sadly).
İ cannot wait playing Dragon Age Origins in my new PC with Asus ROG swift OLED pg32ucdm monitor.
The lat good BioWare game, RIP.
Let's face it, Bioware make the best games, end of story.
Your comment aged poorly...
@toughtguynumberone I have that trailer in my bonus CE DVD. I might upload it if it's not tubed yet. It's a cool song and fits the trailer alright.
DA:O is great because it sets the stakes early. Same with ME2.
Love this game, ultimate sacrifice best ending :)
there comeing out with a exspanshon you go onto there site its called dragon age origion: awakening
Amazing song!
@Niwa300 Sorry I must have missed the bit where American rock fits in with magic and elves.
Loving this song, fits perfectly with the game.
screaming? i see it as more jared's voice just has a searing, no-holds-barred sound. he doesnt really scream, but he just sings his lungs out, and it has that power to it, the feeling inside when you want to scream something, i feel it when i hear the songs, times when i wanted to scream but couldnt or shouldnt, but jared does it for me, it releases that emotion. 30 seconds to mars new album is a coming of age. they transcended with this album, they are truelly great
Old but Gold. I love Ps1
Its not that old.....
I'll just guess this is a bait.
I really can't deny that I cried :°)
It will be a hell of a time till Dragon Age2.........
I think this song is really good for this game. A lot of people are saying it isn't, and that's their opinion, but I think it is.
a good credit sound track is what makes you feel good after you finish a game...
ME and ME2, Portal and DAO have the best ending soundtracks...
@OiShawnyBoy
You realy should try and beat it some day, after the first time i did it, i was like AGAIN :P just to see what else was waiting in store for me. i have played it about 4,5 times now and i keep getting new stuff to see.
@metsuri18
Multisign!
