I almost would prefer they just dropped the game when ready an that is. Having a whole year to hyper analyze everything about it just gives me time to psyche myself about the hundreds of things that could potentially sucked about all this changes they are implementing. It's been just a couple months if that since announcement and when everything we have already seen, I cannot see how this is not gonna be the furthest apart from the classic feeling MH that I've been missing for the last couple gens.
I mean you pull everything what you could from people that doing pr thing(so they can't say more) but for a lot what they showed in trailers you helped to bring clearence and understanding

As a hunting horn main I'm sweating to find out what they are changing. No one is asking the devs about hunting horn changes and it's driving me nuts.

Hunting Horn is gonna be great to bring on the Sekret. I might have to use it with my Charge Blade.
Fellow HH main here, other interviews have stated that it is going back closer to how it was in world

This game is the most hype I think I've ever been in my damn near 34 years of living.
It is my most anticipated game of all time. When it finally comes out I’m taking a week off for it not even jokin.
Definitely my most anticipated game currently. I wasn't really following World so it came out of nowhere for me and I was like FUCK YES when it released. Rise was really good but more of a handheld experience.
This games hype level is literally over NINE THOUSAND for me right now.
Been playing MH since the 1st game and everytime they announce a new MH game I get so excited. This one though has got me so hyped up I'm losing my mind!

Id still consider the seikret mechanic where you get saved is still very much a grounded version of wirefall. It is without a doubt a form of what essentially is wirefall considering how it functions the same just a little more delayed.
Its not a bad thing as it was mentioned most carts jonno experienced was from desperate wirefalling. It never was a unbalanced mechanic since most of the combat in rise revolved in punishing reckless use of it and encouraged the stratedgic use of it
and considering how it evolved the combat they had to bring it back somehow and they did it with the seikrit.

They couldnt share anything new but thats no surprise. We got some teases, we got some clarification, and i heard questions i hadnt thought to wonder but will keep an eye out for answers going forward. 😊
Sharpening on Palamute actually takes more time than knowing when to sharpen. I'm not worry about that if it's the option for some players.
If there's a cooldown on the seikret call during combat then it'll balance out, you can either choose to use it to sharpen, swap weapons or a knockdown pick up. Doing all of those with no restriction would be overpowered.
I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. Much love to you guys, the MH devs, and the MH community as a whole.

So for MP "cutscenes", sounds like it works like an MMO instance, your buddy enters a cinematic action sequence, and he just poofs from existence, but you can continue to play, and when he's done he poofs back into existence.
I farmed for and got fatalis gunlance while watching this lol. Quality pod ruri.
I wonder if focus mode on the insect glaive will be an extension of its current reticle mode, or an entirely different reticle to switch to. That might get a little weird.

Great interview, looking forward to learning more over time. A little concerned about some of the talk of missions being seamless, starting automatically in the field, etc. One thing I like in video games is the "pre-mission prep, mission, post mission" structure/gameplay loop, and it almost sounds like they're going to try to remove that or deemphasize it in the effort to make everything smooth and seamless. As cool as that sounds in theory, I wonder how it will play out in practice?
I wonder if the hunters notes will be more important for finding monsters

The funny thing about hunting horn being buffed _again_ is that hunting horn isn't a bad weapon, it's plenty strong, people just pass over it because they have to juggle songs along with hunting as well. There's plenty of weapons in the game that require you to upkeep some kind of meter but when it comes to using specific attacks to store specific notes on a measure that's where you seemingly lose people. The funny thing is once you have the songs you want active you can just go in and hit the monster with whatever and you don't need to play a song again until the buff runs out or you want to use the powerful recital attacks, so it's not as complicated as people think it is.
1:01:03 I had a strong suspicion that since in the ace lancer(?) in the other trailer said that we were 'a lead hunter on this expedition' that we would have the authority to actually designate monsters out on the map as quests to hunt. I'm a bit surprised I was right if only because the wording the lancer used implied that we were important but maybe not the highest ranking person there, but it seems we've been given a decent amount of authority from the Guild after all. It's going to be interesting to see how our high position will influence other aspects of the game. I can almost see a return of 'hunters for hire' so to speak where we essentially send our underling hunters out on quests for a small portion of the rewards.
The fact we've only seen 4 monsters and one can channel lightning to shoot at things and he said if you already think thats the flagship just wait and see what we have in store is crazy 😂 I'm so hype for this game
So if camps can be placed in set locations in the world, they require materials to set them up, and monsters can destroy the camps, does this imply that we’re going to be cutting down trees or a equivalent for building materials?
About the AI Hunters, it would be really cool if the AI Hunters are Real Player Characters. When u exchange your Guild Cart u are summoning them out of that pool. Like the Tailraider Safari works in Worlds, where they go with others players Palicos. Or like the Pawn system out of DD2, if it explain my idea better.

So is the mount a battle companion like the palamute? Or just a ride to get to places
I would like it if they kept flinch shots, and instead of having the mechanic tied to the clutch claw, it could work as a mounting option instead of just normally getting a big hit to down them.
But will we still have an awesome palico chef at the home camp?

I‘m really excited and anxious about the character voice.
Let me preface this by saying that it’s a cool idea to have a voiced protagonist. However, I do have some concerns regarding that.
1st Fully voicing a character costs money, which will inevitably shrink the pool of available voices. But how much exactly? I can’t imagine that we‘re getting only one voice per gender, but I also can’t really see them providing more than 3-4 options per gender and then maybe add a pitch slider.
2nd Does this mean, that we‘re not getting regional dubs, but only English and Japanese? I enjoyed the German dub of MHW and I‘d like to have that option again. Fully voiced protagonists seem to make this less likely however.
3rd I‘m certain that the speech bites from Rise will make a return. Will there be an option to set the bite frequency, like there was in Rise?
i think clash is similar to bring donw deviljaw when you attack him while in his animation he eats ground to make strong attack. Same here but you need proper focus attack to paary this king of attacks. And think palicos will say that monster winding attack that could be clashed.

hearing them i think they made sneack attacks bc in hunts like world fatalis hunters created semi mandatory actions with cannons. So now they give same idea but as full game mechanics
This all sounds so sick, but I wish someone would get more clarification on the “seamlessness” of the world. Is it open world or not? I understand we can go seamlessly from Hub into the world, but what does this mean for the whole world. They keep saying no loading screens, we must load into other locales no? So is it just 3-4 very large maps each with a hub and everything is seamless within each zone? Or is it ALL seamless as in an open world? I keep seeing back and forth on this. Which is it?
I think Gaijin mentioned it in his recent video collating a lot of the JP articles and impressions about the demo. It seems like it is technically open-world, but not as in you can go wherever you want first, but all open maps that are connected without loading, with the other maps/locales unlocking as you progress. You can theoretically go from the Village in the Plains, to one of the other locales physically via travelling, provided that locale is unlocked via story progress. But there is also fast-travel teleporting which will cause a load screen. But that's just based on information we have. We won't know until more details are announced.
I think they’re also avoiding saying “open world” because what people mean is “I go wherever I want whenever I want” and that’s not how this game is. But after unlocking all the biomes it’ll be closer to the open world everyone is pining for.

Also, the vibe I'm getting from this game is basically Tri's Deserted Island with it's varying ecosystem (plus weather) on a much grander scale. Why doesn't anyone do any throw back comparisons to the Deserted Island?
I wanna know if theres an option to remove the aiming reticle for focus mode, also if you initiate hunts on two different monsters, itll probably just merge it into a multi monster typd quest

Just had an interesting idea while they spoke about S.O.S. for AI allies. What if it chose 3 random hunters that you had guild cards of? Call in 3 of your friend's avatars, similar to dragons dogma pawns. Would be awesome, but I realize that trying to balance that could be difficult. Perhaps the system chooses based on the hunter ranks.
I want server side save files! That’ll be useful for cross progression and also deter (some what) PC save edit
I like the conventional mounting. The wyvern riding just never appealed to me. If they can capture some of the customization that Rise brought to the weapons with that more grounded setting, I will be thrilled.
When will you have time for another podcast with Gaijin Hunter? He presented a lot of interesting information a few hours ago, together you can probably shine a lot of light on this game :D
gaijin wasn't invited in the closed door demo. everything he said were from other people that already made a video about it. he basically only reacted to those videos.

Please let my character still kinda do a jig while playing. The kick flip into playing with gusto felt awesome.
Maybe swap songs by soem process so a horn i otherwise like can be relevant a bit longer.
Maybe a bit more damage?? Or instead, increased sharpness somewhere on the tree? I dunno, some kind of improvement there. I sat at the smithy for ages comparing stats and unsure which were most relevant.

So weapons that already require me to track ammo types, ammo capacity, ammo ranges, recoil, deviation, attachments, walking vs stationary reload and shooting is getting more crunchy? And people say CB is the most complicated weapon in the game. CB was my first main btw.
How is there no clause that these video cannot be premired during the same time as the monster hunter live stream. It seems like the marketing team messed up. Like they are 1,2k people watching this while only 800 watching the live stream.
Wait so, if someone can just jump in your world. What happens with freaking 16 man lobbies? Do we have a collective lobby then a world limited to 4 people each?

This was confirmed, it is not a baby Pukie, it’s a bird species. Hopefully they e seen the community clamoring for this and they add it lol
I can assure you that if it is a type of bird monster very close to the Pukiepukie, but that neither the developers nor the director want to reveal because they can not yet, such is some monsters of the Demo, some knew what monsters were but they were warned that they could not say what they were for confidentiality. One example is that someone let it slip that there is a "famous" mammoth style mob, maybe you already have an idea which one it is.
I enjoy just hearing them talk about Monster Hunter. I love Monster Hunter. The one thing I want is the feeling of being in danger. The original Monster Hunter you had more fear on hunts. As for new weapons. Did you master all weapons? No need to add.

You can play the game without Capcom ID, on your platform but what they seem to be saying, without saying it, is that to do cross play you have to have it. We'll see when they reveal more. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I think the way it would work is as you're hunting one monster, if you decide to hunt another and initiate a 'second hunt', i imagine it'll just ask if you want to add this monster to the quest target list and the single monster hunt becomes a multi-monster hunt.
Just my thoughts on how this would be implemented

If there’s no quest timers then there’s no need to lower the hp of the monsters to fit the 50 min limit. I’d actually appreciate it if they kept the hp the same with multiple monsters or not because I can sure see myself exploiting it.
Just start a multi hunt to get the mons hp lower than normal and use weakener and AI hunters to pummel it quickly….

If anyone wants a good approximation of what the Focus Mode reticle gameplay looks like, play Godfall. That game also has weakspots that you need to manually look at with your reticle to aim your melee attacks.

The biggest question is "Will Lagiacrus return?"
With the seamless world in multiplayer does this mean rooms will ONLY be 4 people now? Its gonna make my channel events go pretty poorly if we cant have atleast the 16 people like we can in world in the room interacting with each other. If this is true this will be the only negative so far with wilds.
I hope its 16/32 lobbies and you can create parties instead of each player has their own world and 3 other players can join it

Good. I want them to focus on the weapons we have and make them all feel distinct. The newer ones to me (switch axe (which I enjoy still), insect glaive, and charge blade) all feel unrealistic and like the weapon can’t decide what it is or how it should function.

It would be nice if you could mix followers with playing with other people. For example, if I am playing with my son, having to AI hunters join us as he hunts at a very different place than most players.

The last time they had special attention for hunting horn, it was "meh"... I really hope it goes well this time. We're not legion, don't lower the number of hunting horn players XD
So no new weapon? They didn’t say no, but they didn’t say yes. But them saying no but more like beating around the bush does give some hope that there might be a new one. Tho, all they said was that they were doing more and revamping the 14 weapons.
